Really enjoyed this story. Poor Lucas is so sad, wanting to meet the sun. He is so bored and lonely since he and his Master, Gustav have been apart. Lucas signs all of his belongings over to Gustav on the eve of his planned demise, which brings Gustav back into his life. I wish there was more to this story, from what brought Lucas to that point, and more of what happened after.

This must be one of the most hilarious vampire stories I've ever read. The blurb sort of hints at it, but the entire book is like that. I mean, a vampire who is too bored to want to live? I can actually see it, if you don't have a hobby or something to keep your interest, you might get a bit bored after a few hundred years.

Lukas is the one who suffers from ennui, as he puts it, but his entire attempt at suicide fails miserably. He may have put his affairs in order, left everything to his maker,

This one was kind of boring, which I felt was an odd way to start the anthology off. I didn't really want to read the rest. But there is another story I wanted to read, and I have trouble jumping around in anthologies so I kept reading. I'm glad I did. That said, this isn't bad, it just isn't my thing.

Happy ending? (view spoiler)

Though the blurb doesn’t mention it, there is a strong D/s dynamic here. Gustav is the Master and Lukas the child, but spanking and pain are a big part of who they are. Lukas hasn’t spoken to Gustav in over 200 years (we really don’t know why - it is mentioned once that Lukas believes Gustav didn’t want him anymore). He has had enough of boredom of life and he’s going to go greet the sun and die. He leaves all his possessions to Gustav. When a rainstorm all day long keeps him from fulfilling his ...more

Often referred to as "Space Cowboy" and "Gangsta of Love" while still striving for the moniker of "Maurice," Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours ...more
