Kiss Kiss Bang follows the "Clad" in Iron-Clad Security, also known as Joey. He's the hacker behind the security firm and meets his match in single mom Olivia Russo. When he first ran into her she was a disheveled mess having a break down on the floor of a computer store, yet just one look at her and he knew she was someone his life needed. Then he ended up being what she needed when a crazed stalker starts to make threats against her.

This series is honestly one of my favorites from Sidney Halston, I love the suspense and intrigue of it and how these characters flourish in the chaos. Joey and Olivia had really great chemistry and those moments of stolen kisses and soft touches amongst the craziness of everything else going on was what drew me into them. I also swooned ridiculously hard over Joey with Olivia's daughter.

Overall, this was a brilliant Romantic Suspense and I felt like it had the perfect mix of mystery and sweet romance. It actually makes me want to go back and re-read the series as a whole just because seeing the past characters reminded me of how much I loved them all.

HAPPY BOOK BIRTHDAY!!
A thrilling, sweet and sexy as heck romantic suspense. I love this series and each book is unique and exciting.

A computer crash is the last thing anyone wants, especially while preparing to give an important speech in a race for governor. Fortunately for Olivia Monroe, she also crashes right into delectable computer expert, ex-marine, co-owner of Iron-Clad security and secret hacker Joseph Clad who is more than willing to help a damsel in distress.
"She wanted him, but she didn't want to want him. She needed help, but she didn't want to need help."

Olivia wouldn’t call herself a damsel in distress though. She’s a single mom and widow who’s been threatened and targeted because of her candidacy in Florida’s race for governor. She’s not backing down however, and Joey will be right there protecting her and her daughter Sophie, whether she asks him for his help or not. Because the man is not just attractive and skilled, he’s an assertive alpha male on a race of his own: to win the damsel’s heart. Can he convince her include him into her complicated life?

I’m not sure how I missed book #2 in this series, a fact that will be remedied ASAP, but I’m glad Kiss Kiss Bang didn’t escape me because I love reading Sidney Halston’s books which are always a source of great enjoyment.

This story snagged my interest right from its prologue which recounting Olivia’s teenage love for her next door neighbor while growing up and living in an underprivileged part of NYC. Fast forward twenty years and we see a thriving Olivia trying to fix her computer and meeting the very charming and self-assured Joey. Sparks immediately fly between them but Olivia resists not just because of her busy schedule but because of her cute and vivacious five year old daughter. But Joey is a hard man to say no to.
"Don't do that. Don't regret our first kiss."
"First?"

He leand in and whispered just as Tom walked out. "Silly woman, that was just the first of a lot of things that's going to happen between us."

As threats turn to attacks, Joey’s protectiveness kicks in full force and while he’s racing to keep her from harm, he’s also falling hard for both the Monroe woman.

I just love a man who knows what he wants and is determined to get it. Joey might have been a bit highhanded, but it was just what Olivia needed and I loved how he admired and fell for her and Sophie. My ovaries just about exploded by the end of the book with all the cute scenes between Joey and Sophie!
"I'll tell you a secret, Livie. While you've been working yourself up as to how I felt and you felt and Sophie felt and what the entire fuckin' world felt, I made you mine. Livie, like it or not, you and me, we're already in a relationship. You just didn't want to see it."

Olivia is strong, smart, caring, and dedicated. She fights for what she believes in and does something about it. They were perfect for each other.

As Olivia and Joey got to know each other and the plot unfolded I kept wondering about Olivia’s past and present loving the suspense and trying to figure out what would come. I was as engaged with the story’s exciting plot as I was with the developing romance so much that I read this in one sitting!

Kiss Kiss Bang is book #3 of the Iron Clad Security series by Sidney Halston. It is a standalone romantic suspense. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

Kiss Kiss Bang by Sidney Halston gets a very high 4-star rating. I had such a blast reading this! This author knows how to perfectly mesh suspense, romance and humor into one heck of an entertaining read. Some would say that Olivia and Joey’s meeting was a thing of fate. Her computer crashed and while waiting in a line going nowhere to get it fixed, it’s Joey to the rescue. That chance encounter led to the blossoming of something new and beautiful for both of them. And lucky for her. With a stalker on her tail, Joey couldn’t have happened into her life at a better time. As the co-owner of one of the most successful security companies around, he’s the perfect man to keep her and her daughter safe. Falling in love may not have been part of the plan, but it was a sweet bonus ;)

I adored Joey. He was everything I look for in a swoon-worthy hero. He was ex-military, alpha, incredibly intelligent, a hacker (I love those), sweet, considerate, charming, sexy, and his heart was in the right place. Olivia was a little harder to like, however, a lot of her resistance was understandable based on her history and the losses she already suffered. These two characters together were explosive and I loved watching them navigate their chemistry along the minefield of a five year old underfoot. It was so cute!

If you’re a fan of romantic suspense with touches of sweet and funny, you need to add this book to your list! This author doesn’t disappoint and her words will grab your attention from beginning to end.

Wow! Now this is how alpha heroes and romance is done! I absolutely loved this book! It was so quick paced, never bogging down with too much or unnecessary information and the way Joey met, stepped in and then fell for Olivia and her daughter was totally swoon worthy! There was just enough drama and danger to keep the story moving and character development that made me feel like these people were my friends.

Sometimes when a heroine has a career such as Olivia they can be written to be too hard core in an attempt to prove they’re not or never will be a doormat. But Sidney Halston created Olivia to be tough in her career but with enough insecurity in her life that she was just…real, and totally likable. And Joey! OMG! This hero checked every one of my perfect alpha boxes. I didn’t want this story to end and I was a little disappointed we didn’t get a further look into the future for this couple. Nevertheless, I closed my Kindle with a contented sigh and a giddy smile on my face.

Thank you Ms. Halston for an incredibly satisfying read!

Kiss Kiss Bang started off as what I thought was going to be a RomCom then the story took a turn and the Romantic Suspense really came through. And, Romantic Suspense may have won out, but it definitely had its lighter moments.

Alpha-male Joey Clad was undeniably one sexy man. On top of it, he knows how to hold a gun, hack a computer and love a woman.

Livie was a woman who ran away from an abusive house, learned how to stand on her own two feet and fight for what she believes in.

Alone, they are two strong people. Together, they could take on the world, figure out who is stalking and threatening her and protect the joy of Livie’s life … the precocious, lizard loving Sophie.

As Kiss Kiss Bang progressed, I really enjoyed reading about Evie and Joey. They both had pasts that they weren’t proud of but found a way to turn things around. Joey was entertaining at times, serious when had to be, super sexy – especially when he was helping Sophie. Sorry, but there is nothing sexier than a man crawling around looking for lizards, playing around in the pool and just enjoying the wonderment of a child.

Surrounded by strong secondary characters, Joey and Olivia were able to shine through. Sidney Halston really did a wonderful job of bringing these two characters together and giving them a love worth fighting for. I was intrigued with the storyline and enjoyed reading about Sophie. Yea, she kind of made the story. She was just adorable. And, the story flowed … there was no time that you weren’t wondering what was going to happen next or who may have been threatening them, where the Governor fit in or just when Harry’s Hacker would strike again. There were some things that were predictable but, that's expected. There's only so much that can be said without being a little predictable. That’s a true testament of a good romantic suspense author.

Hot and sexy computer geek Joey falls fast for Olivia, candidate for Governor. He helps her with her computer problems, and then with her stalker. Her daughter is adorable. It was great up until the end. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am and end. It won't be so bad if Ms. Halston has plans for Joey and Annie's other brother come on board at ICS and get HEAs.

Sidney Halston’s latest Iron-Clad Security series isn’t quite the typical bodyguard-type romance, even though the high-profile/security (geek) guy pairing is in full force here. It’s a rather unusual setup nonetheless (a politician with an ex-military hacker) and while there’s some suspense written into this, the focus is mainly on the romance that grows under adversity, coupled with an annoying child who seems to be constantly hovering at the ‘terrible-twos’ age and a ton of eye-blinding lust.

Joey Clad and Olivia Monroe are likeable, steady characters who don’t generally behave several decades younger than they’re supposed to be. Both are confident in themselves, tough in ways that matter and in this manner, well-suited to each other. Maybe the correct term here is ‘adulting’: behaving with the weight of the awareness that they do have responsibilities and don’t run away from them while talking it out—I literally get quite excited when couples in romantic fiction use their mouths to communicate instead of using sex to put the issue away for another time.

There are moments when Olivia pushes Joey away and gives all sorts of excuses at first while Joey dives straight into their relationship and isn’t unafraid to call her out for them—that part is done away with quickly. I did skim a little past the political issues and the antics of Olivia’s daughter, but mostly, ‘Kiss Kiss Bang’ is a story that deals with the threats thrown at Olivia and her daughter as Joey steamrolls his way into their lives and makes himself indispensable. Nearly emotionally angst-free, the book is, in this aspect, quite a predictable but welcome read—there aren’t that many earth-shaking revelations that turn the pairing against each other or one that contributes to a huge climax—which I could appreciate given the number of blowups that tend to be the norm in the romance genre.

This is the first Sidney Halston book I’ve read and I enjoyed it. I liked the main characters and I found the story moved along quickly enough to hold my interest and want to keep reading. I will definitely pick up with others in the series because I need to know what went down with them as well!

3.5 stars .
Another entertaining read from Sidney Halston and this is a nice addition to the Iron Clad Security series.
I liked that all 3 books were uniquely original and each had a different story to tell within the parameters of the series. This author is always fun and easy reading for me, I like her a lot.
Sidney writes romantic suspense in a way that remains light and funny, not overly dark or angsty.
I was happy to see Joey get his own book and the romance was sweet, I also liked Olivia and her daughter Sophie-she was precocious but in a good way.
The only complaint I have is that the ending felt a little too rushed and had the author included an epilogue I am sure I would have raised my star rating higher to 4 instead of 3.5.
This series can be read as standalones but I recommend starting with book 1 but I will admit that book 2 is my absolute favorite.

3.5 stars!

The third book in the Iron Clad Security series, and Sidney Halston has delivered another solid bodyguard-client romance that is fun, flirty, sexy and romantic with a functional, low-angst relationship and a touch of mystery/suspense that makes this a really exciting read that can easily standalone. With an alpha hero you can’t help but love, a strong and feisty single mother heroine and an adorable little girl, this is a great read and I really enjoyed it.

Joey Clad is the second half of Iron Clad Security. An ex-Marine (of course), he is the tech guru of the company, and the best hacker in the business. Olivia Monroe is a widowed single mother who had a bit of an Erin Brockovich moment and found herself swept up in a run for Florida Governor. Her life is a whirlwind, and when she finds herself in trouble, Joey comes to her rescue

There’s a spark of attraction between Joey and Olivia from the very beginning, and when the gorgeous young politician becomes the target of a mysterious threat, Joey steps in to protect her – very quickly steamrolling his way into every aspect of Olivia’s life.

“I like you. I want you safe. You have a daughter. You need to keep her safe. I’m the guy who’s gonna do both those things.”

Oh, I do love me a straight-talking alpha male, and Joey is all that. He lays out for Olivia how he feels and what he wants, and he holds nothing back, and I freaking love that! There’s no game playing, no back and forth, no unnecessary angst. He puts it out there and he takes what he wants and it makes this a really fun read.

“I’ll tell you a secret, Livvie. While you’ve been working yourself up as to how I felt and you felt and Sophie felt and what the entire fuckin’ world felt, I’ve made you mine. Livie, Like it or not, you and me, we’re already in a relationship. You just didn’t want to see it.”

That’s not to say that there’s no intensity, because there absolutely is. The chemistry sizzles, the sexual tension is fantastic, and they do have issues that they need to deal with - the great thing is that they acknowledge those issues, they deal with them and they move on, working towards what they both want.

“This isn’t just a one-time thing, right? This is me and you trying for something more?”
“Darlin’, this is me and you trying for everything.”

Adding an additional layer of intensity is the threat facing Olivia. There is mystery and suspense, and it’s really well written. It doesn’t overwhelm the story, but it creates a sense of drama and excitement, and I thought it was really well tied in to the characters and their romance, making this a well-developed and intriguing story.

Quick shout-out too, to Olivia’s daughter, Sophie. She’s an absolute cutie, and watching the way that she and Joey embraced each other so effortlessly was just gorgeous.

I really enjoyed this book. 3.5 stars.

Kiss Kiss Bang is suspenseful romance filled with some intense moments.

I've read this series from the beginning and continue to enjoy each book I've read.

This one features Josef and Olivia. These two have what I would call a whirlwind romance.

Josef is protective and I would say Alpha as well. He was pretty relentless in his pursuit of Olivia but at the same time respected her profession as a politician. He made my heart melt with how he was with Olivia's daughter.

This storyline has some twists with it, definitely some moments where you are on edge as Olivia and Josef deal with threats to her. There are also some funny moments in this as well that had me chuckling.

The characters had me engaged from the very beginning and I found this one an easy and quick read. One sitting, no stopping.

If you are looking for a series that has involves suspense, hot chemistry and a hot protective alpha bodyguard then I definitely recommend this book.

I was provided a copy by NetGalley for an honest review.

I haven't read any of the others in the rest of this series, but this reads as a standalone so all good! However, I may go back and read the others.

This story had everything - alpha male, strong h, romance, cute child and suspense! I liked that there wasn't any push and pull between the two main characters, their feelings grew organically. Joey was an alpha but not an alpha a-hole which was very good. He clearly cared for Livie and Sophie - at times he was so sweet. The mystery element had me guessing as to who, then when that started to become evident, it was the why. Good ending with a nice HEA - but would have loved an epilogue.

***4 Stars***

I was a little hesitant to dive into Kiss Kiss Bang (I’ll get to the reason in a bit) but I needn’t have worried because I loved this book. This may just be my favorite of the series. It was a fun, quick read that was low on angst, but had just the right amount of suspense to keep things interesting and characters I enjoyed getting to know and ended up loving when everything was said and done.

The reason I was hesitant about this one falls entirely on Joey/Josef’s shoulders. I wanted to gut the man with a spoon in Last First Kiss. Badly. But, I reminded myself to keep an open mind because he did have some good points, and whadda you know? I ended up really liking him. He was still all kinds of dominant and steamroller should be his nickname, but in this case it just worked. He was compassionate, upfront and funny, which ended up being quite a lethal combination.

Olivia I loved right away. She’s vivacious, determined and compassionate. Her past isn’t all wine and roses, but she’s created a solid life for herself and her daughter and is looking to do more for those around her. Olivia was a lot of fun. Sassy and a little snarky, and could hold her own in room full of sharks.

Olivia and Joey’s journey was a lot of fun. Joey does steamroll his way into her life, but I never felt as if it was oppressive. Part of it, of course, had to do with the security issue and that he is in the protection business. The other part is that he did it in a sneaky and yet fun way that still allowed for caveman tendencies, but showed how much he respected Olivia. I loved their bantering and the chemistry between them was hot and it really was a lot of fun to watch their relationship grow, and then you throw Sophie into the mix and all bets are off.

I loved the previous books, but this one just felt...lighter than the others when it came to the romance and I really liked that because there was enough drama going on around them that it would have bogged the story down too much. As for the suspense aspect, it was very well done. It kept me on my toes (I actually attempted to figure out who was behind it all and only got part of it right) and when everything was said and done, it all made perfect sense to me. I enjoyed hanging out Jax, Megan, Annie and Rocco, but Sophie was the one who definitely stole my heart and the show.

Another 5 Star Iron Clad Security Book!!! Man I have loved every single book in this series!!

💛This is Josef and Olivia’s love story...

Olivia~ sure I came from a horrible past but here I am now running for Governor of Florida. I am a single mother and haven’t had sex in five years, so a man is out of the question right now. Problem is Josef Clad doesn’t really take orders or suggestions he just steam rolls his way right on in. And damn it if I can’t stop staring at him...

Josef~ I know what I want and I want her. Single mother and all. Sure I am a tech god but I want to be her sex god. Too much?!?! Anyway, I will do everything in my power to keep those two ladies safe...

💭My thoughts...

This book I didn’t think I was going to like as much as the last two. First I worry about that with all series because I have been let down quite a bit. But the main reason is because I wanted to throat punch “Joey” aka Josef in the last book. But damn now I see it, now I get it. What you see is what you get and damn if I don’t love this man now.

This book flowed effortlessly. The author built all these characters up in your head and boy she delivered. I fell in love with that little family in the making. The enemies I seemed to hate from the beginning but there was still some mystery that I didn’t see coming until the author wanted me to see it.

If you have started this series yet, I suggest you do. But if you don’t have the time or whatever the excuse may be, check out this book!! Do you like a man who doesn’t take no for answer when it comes to caring for you? Do you like sexy protective alpha males? Do you like men who love your kid? Do you like women who can hold their own but submit to the one right man? Then this is the book do you!! I love this whole security team!!!!

Joey doesn't mind voicing his opinions, "his eyes roamed her bare legs. He took a step so he was right by her ear and whispered, “Yes, he’s terrible. But also, I’m not thrilled about another man seeing your bare legs or ***.” Joey can be a playful guy, “I’m basically doing it to get into your pants.” He winked, throwing her words back at her, playfully." I liked this book, I really fell in love with Joey, and little Sophie just stole my heart.

I always wonder how writers comes up with the scenarios of when the main characters first met. A candidate for governor in hysterics in the middle of a computer care centre after her laptop crashed in the middle of writing an important speech and a IT security guy who offered to retrieve her data knowing that the shop would probably write-off the laptop as a gone case. An implausible but interesting situation.

I find the plot rather average and there were some missed potentials to milk the mystery to make it more interesting. Also, the hero and heroine's characters were a bit imbalanced. I like the heroine so much that it doesn't matter who the hero is. He seemed replaceable.

Plot: 3.5/5
Characterisation: 3.5/5
Prose: 4/5
How much I enjoyed it: 4/5

Hot bodyguard and tech genius? Yes please! USA Today bestselling author Sidney Halston brings us another installment in her Iron Clad Security series. It’s finally Joey’s turn and Kiss Kiss Bang was totally worth the wait.

Josef “Joey” Clad is an ex-Marine, co-owner of Iron-Clad Securities and the best hacker in Miami, which is why he oversees the company’s cyber ops. It is also how he ends up with his sights on widow and single mother Olivia Monroe. Olivia is the dark horse candidate for governor, who after receiving threatening emails hires Joey and his crew. She doesn’t have time for trouble, especially the kind spelled J-O-E-Y. No matter how much confidence he has or how hot he is, its just business. At least that’s what she tells herself. But now he is her bodyguard and his closeness makes it hard to resist.

“She wanted him, but she didn't want to want him. She needed help, but she didn't want to need help."

Joey is a mix between a techy geeky guy and the intense alpha male. A mighty fine combination if you ask me. He’s protective and caring, he’s smart and he gets what he wants. Lucky Olivia because he wants her. Joey may be helping her with the threats, but that woman is anything but a damsel in distress. She has been on her own for a long time and she has raised her daughter in the process. She is dedicated and loyal, not only to her daughter but to the citizens of her state. Olivia truly wants to help people and that fuels her run for governor.

“Livie, like it or not, you and me, we're already in a relationship. You just didn't want to see it."

Olivia’s independent nature is what has her keeping Joey at arm’s length, even when anyone can see that they are much closer. Just because she denies it doesn’t make it less true though, and Joey is just the right man to allow her to continue her denial, all while cementing himself in her life.

This was a wonderful ending to the series. Suspenseful and intriguing, a romantic suspense that is perfect for lovers of the genre. Four stars.

I would love this protection detail…

This series is one of my favourites as it mixes sweet love and romantic suspense with humour, heat and heart!

This time out Joey is wooing a reluctant Olivia with all the romantic tricks in his arsenal – and they are impressive. He doesn’t look like a stereotypical computer nerd but underneath that sexy, ex-military façade lies the heart of a hacker as well as a protective, gentle man. If he doesn’t sound like a macho man then you would be right but he knows how to hold his own in dangerous situations and how to protect the new ladies in his life…

“”She wanted him, but she didn’t want to want him. She need help, but she didn’t want to need help.”

Olivia is an independent woman who has dealt with every knock down blow in her life with grace under fire. She is articulate and funny and so relatable as she deals with life’s usual challenges as well as unexpected danger with remarkable composure. Well, the scene at the computer store may not have been her finest moment but it certainly was hilarious! She may have called him “sneaky” but Joey crawled under her defenses and his protection soon became addictive…

There was danger and a host of characters to meet and get re-acquainted with so no time to take a breath as this story read way too quickly. Sparks flew between Joey and Olivia with their interactions made even better with Olivia’s daughter often in the midst of it all. I loved the dynamic between the three as they made me smile – a lot! – and go ‘awww’ so many times. Sophie was the best unexpected matchmaker and so darn cute she stole the show for me.

I don’t know if there is more to come in this series but my vote is ‘yes please’!

I am seriously loving this series, it’s rare that I find a series that has me loving the new books as much as the previous but this one does it! I would say this can be read as a stand-alone but to really have the background of ICS I’d say read the previous books first!

Joey Clad is an ex-marine/computer nerd who happens to be one of the best hackers ever. While updating security at a computer shop he notices a woman on the security feed having a break-down in the store and once he sets his sights on her he’ll do everything in his power to mark her his. Olivia Russo is running for governor while also balancing being a single mom. When her laptop crashes right before a huge presentation Oliva holds it together just long enough to make it to the crazy long line at the repair shop where she completely loses it. Joey steps in as her knight in shining armor and though it takes a lot of convincing on Joey’s part he convinces her to come back to ICS and let him get her set up with a new laptop. Joey is relentless with getting Olivia to date him and eventually things really heat up between the two.

I absolutely love Joey’s character, he’s the sweetest and I think he really needed that redemption after the previous book when he was a dick to his sister. My favorite part of this book, of this series really, is the humor, intrigue, romance and did I mention humor that the author manages to fit into each book. This book is one you won’t be able to put down and I’m already on the edge of my seat waiting for book 4!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

KISS KISS BANG by Sidney Bristol
Iron Clad Security #3

Florida has a heated race for governor in progress when Josef “Joey” Clad sees Olivia “Liv” Russo have a meltdown at a computer store. He steps in, offers his computer skills to resolve her troubles and though there is attraction the two do not act upon it…then. They see one another again when he is working security for a dinner she is to speak at and before they know it he is whisking her away from danger and again there is chemistry. Eventually the chemistry is acted upon and Joey becomes Liv’s bodyguard…and then more.

This is evidently the final book in the Iron Clad Security series. I found Joey to be an interesting and wise man who knew what he wanted as well what his strengths truly were. Liv had a rough childhood and a dream. She found love, lost love, had a child and then found herself running for governor. She has plans for the future and, at first, sees herself without a man in her life. Joey begins to change her thoughts about the future, though.

With evil to thwart, hackers hacking, romance in the air, a five year old that sometimes acted two and others a bit closer to five and more this is a fast-paced action-packed romance that satisfied even though I didn’t really fall for either Liv or Joey…nice people that belonged together BUT I didn’t relate to them as much as I sometimes have in other stories. Well, perhaps Joey appealed more than Liv? Hmmm….thinking back on the story… Anyway…

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Kiss Kiss Bang follows the "Clad" in Iron-Clad Security who is actually known as Joey. Josef “Joey” Clad is an ex-Marine, co-owner of Iron-Clad Securities and the best hacker in Miami. He is also a man who has his eyes on a woman who he vows to make his, no matter what after a chance meeting.
Olivia "Livie" Russo is running to be the next governor of Florida. She is a single mum and is a widow. She runs into Joey at a computer store where she took her computer after it broke down on the eve of her big speech. She mistook him for the store’s IT guy and yet he totally helped her out. Then he ended up being what she needed again in his real job when a crazed stalker starts making threats against her.
Sidney Halston is one of my favorite authors because she writes one of the best romantic suspense series out there. There is a great mix of romance and suspense with just a good mix of humor and intrigue. Joey and Olivia had this great mix of chemistry which was electric. I loved the chemistry between them. It didn’t feel forced –it came off as quite real and I loved Livie’s little girl. She was a scene stealer. I loved the twists and turns this story took until the very end. I hated for this story to end and I look forward to the next book in this series.

My Rating: 4.7 stars *****

My Review:
Ooh, I liked this story. This is a romantic suspense, but it's definitely heavier on the romance than the suspense. Olivia is an unlikely gubernatorial candidate. She's really just a mom, getting by. But when she meets Joey, she's not even managing that as she's having a nervous breakdown in the electronics store because her laptop is crashing with the speech that she desperately needs on it. Joey finds himself entranced by this mess of a woman who is normally as smooth and put together as ice. It's an interesting and fascinating dichotomy. And that becomes even more so as he gets to know her, because she really is a normal single mom just trying to get by.

I really liked Joey's story. She fell into politics simply by doing the right thing...something I wish we had more politicians like. The only thing I find slightly unbelievable in the story is that nothing about her upbringing had been revealed to the public before, because that is always part of all the politics and stories on the politicians. But that was just a minor niggle. I liked her and her daughter. In fact, I adored her daughter and how natural Joey handled her.

Overall it was a great read. I've said it before and I'll say it again...Sidney Halston is really good at writing romantic suspense. I hope she continues to dabble in the genre. This has been a great series.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This is the 2nd book in this series for me (missed the actual 2nd book which several people said was the best) and while I enjoyed them both they both failed me in the bedroom scenes. The story is exceptional and well written but when it comes to the sex scenes it is like somebody else did the writing about 2 different people. Totally out of character for the people in this story. I read a couple of hundred books a year and seen all kinds of intimate scenes written but all of the better ones flow with the people and story, this does not it is almost like they turned on a porn movie of 2 other people.

Olivia and Joey made a great couple and the political intrigue was a perfect background, you are kept guessing as to who and why things are happening, there are a couple of plot holes that were never explained away but that did not detract from the story but it did give me the impression of the story being rushed to finish the series. Sadly I can't give an example without it being a spoiler.

The worst thing you can do as a writer is jar your reader out of the story and that is what almost every sex scene did in this book (and the first book also) which is sad because this is close to a 5 Star story but those scenes (actually it was the transition into those scenes and not the mechanics of them) and what felt like a rushed ending I am giving it 4 Stars which might be on the high side. I really wanted to give this a 3 Star but I did really enjoy reading it for the mystery/story and stayed up late to finish it.

Bottom Line: Would have liked to have seen this book trimmed down a few pages and the sex scenes done better (in a literary sense) but the mystery was good and the story was laid out well so 4 Stars mainly on the strength of the story itself

Joey Clad is half owner of Iron Clad Security. He is retired military, an IT genius and master hacker. He has always been a behind the scenes guy, taking care of everything IT, only becoming an active participant when absolutely necessary. He’s in great physical shape, somewhat alpha, very wealthy and pretty content with his life.

Olivia Russo grew up very poor with drug addict parents. She left town after high school and has done well for herself. She is currently running for Governor. She was widowed 2 days after the birth of her 5-year-old daughter, Sophie. She hasn’t dated since but has been focused on her daughter and career.

When her laptop crashes with her speech for the next day on it, she heads to the local computer fix it place. She has a public meltdown and Joey scoops in to save her.

Joey is completely fascinated by Olivia (Livie) and decides to see where it goes. Livie isn’t sure she has room in her life for a relationship but decides she’s not going to fight it.

There’s a small amount of predictable suspense with predictable bad guys. Mostly it’s Joey inserting himself into their lives playing the overprotective alpha while seeming to allow Livie to still live her life.

Sidney Halston books are almost always a fun ride, and this was no exception. Joey is the "Clad" in iron-Clad securities and he is the perfect Alpha Male, the man who is all man and who also takes the time to be kind to a woman who is clearly at the end of her rope in an electronics store (and, let's face it, if I am going to have a come apart, it's going to be in an electronics store. I was able to totally relate).

I liked Olivia a lot, even though there were times I thought she was incredibly naive, although the plot did give some explanation for this, so I was mostly able to let that go. I liked that she was attracted to Joey but also a strong woman who was not willing to make her entire life about a man. I appreciate the romance novel where the woman is capable and still wants the romance, although in this one, she was the one fighting the relationship much more than Joey did.

The plot was mostly believable. There were a couple of places where I did a bit of a side-eye at some of the actions of the characters, but it was mostly reasonable. I did think it was incredibly obvious who was threatening Olivia...but by the way the book was constructed and the way the plot unfolded, I actually think this was intentional, to allow the reader to have the suspense while balancing it with the romantic narrative.

I did enjoy this title and I am looking forward to the next book by the author.

4.5*s of sexy and caring romance

This is the third book in the series, and I loved it. You could definitely read it as a stand alone, but really, don't deprive yourself of a series of very enjoyable reads. Fast paced, super sexy and lots of warm and cuddly feelings.

In this installment, IT / hacker and security genius Joey meets Olivia Russo when she has a meltdown in an IT store. He solves her IT problem and then infiltrates her life as he just knows she is worth his time. She is also totally smitten, but with a political campaign to win and a 5 year old daughter to protect, she is more cautious. It was great fun watching Joey break down her barriers, and them both fall in love with each other - and Joey grow close to her daughter, Sophie. She gave them plenty of opportunity for fun moments too.

This has a really good underlying plot, a message about strong women, and a man who knows what he wants and yet manages to avoid being domineering. Made for a super hot romance, and a very enjoyable read.

I cannot wait to see what series Ms Halston comes up with next, as so far they have all been winners for me.

Kiss Kiss Bang was so much fun to read. Its doesn't take long to figure out who and why Olivia is being stalked and hunted. Normally I like to be kept in the dark about who is the real killer\Stalker\Scum Bag but Sidney Halston was able to keep the story moving at a wonder pace it will keep readers beyond happy.
Kiss Kiss Bang is a perfectly blended suspense, romance and human that will have readers up into the night wanting more but Sidney Halston.

Olivia daughter will have readers cracking up and if you have a 5 year old you will laugh even more. The author is able to make Olivia very likable and readers will connect with her right away. The author adds a little message in between all the romance, suspense, Meyerbeer and life of a parent. The past doesn't define us. Our past is apart of us and we can live there or change.

Kiss Kiss Bang is a well placed insta-love romance that will have readers falling in love with Joey and Olivia. Readers will champion for Olivia and her desire to do right by the people of her state.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher Swerve for the advance copy. I can't wait to read more by this Sidney Halston.
