How much do you trust an institution to do what is right? Not much, according to the 2018 Edelman Trust Barometer.

“The U.S. is enduring the worst collapse ever recorded in the history of the [report],” writes Daniel Edelman. “This is led by a decline in trust in government, which is down 30 points among the informed public and 14 points among the general population, while for the informed public trust in each of the other institutions sank by 20 or more points.” The “other institutions” are busi

And this is our great opportunity. When we commit ourselves to being people of trust, we build, strengthen, and fortify the very things that holds homes, neighborhoods, business and teams together. When we hold each other accountable and allow ourselves to be held accountable, we begin to solidify the relational ground under our feet. Mac Richard is a new author for me and looking at one of the online sites this may be his first book. So, I had no preconceived ideas of how or what he might have to say. Or how he would say it.

“Rather than being stifled or stymied in challenging situations and environments, relationships grow deeper and get stronger when they’re tested and survive to thrive.”

How many people in your life do you actually trust? We usually only have a handful among the many people we know who can tell us the truth, give us a kick when we need it and provide a safe place to be real. These kinds of relationships are authentic and are something we should aim to achieve in more of our relationships. The Trus
