It's not that the author didn't know what she was doing. It wasn't like there was inappropriate content. It wasn't even that the characters were the problem. They were okay. But still, the story isn't memorable, and I'm having a hard time pinpointing why. WHYYY.

Another exciting book in the Nikki Boyd Files series! This one overlaps the previous books with the backstory of Nikki's sister's abduction, the event that brought Nikki into the police force. The team of officers working the case returns, with the focus on special agents Garrett Addison and his friend, FBI agent Jordan Lambert.

This author is skilled at pulling the reader into the police drama, with all the danger, uncertainty, and frustration in solving a complicated case like the long running

This book definitely needs to be read after the Nikki Boyd trilogy even though the events start earlier. The romantic parts are VERY off screen and it felt tragic how long-drawn-out that part was. The story itself is episodic, which gives it more of a feel of a tv miniseries than a regular novel (four crimes connected to the same perp). I liked the uniqueness of this approach, but each episode really did lack details, and I had to know other things about Nikki and her own sea

This book threw me a lot. Lisa Harris’s highly acclaimed and reviewed Nikki Boyd series took an unexpected twist on the fourth book. I had high expectations due to the reviews I had read of her previous books. While it was a decent story, it definitely left a lot lacking.

One of the main things that I liked about the story was the plot twist at the end. It was very hard to guess who t

With this book the author takes an interesting approach to the mystery that's driven the Nikki Boyd series. The book steps back in time to the underlying serial killer question and shows the original investigators wrestling with trying to find answers as young ladies are disappearing around the Nashville area.

Vanishing Point is filled with threads of romance, family challenges, and the race to save the young women before it's too late. While Nikki Boyd is not the primary character, she has more

I selected Vanishing Point to review because it was a Nikki Boyd novel, and I’ve previously read Lisa Harris’s three earlier novels featuring Nikki Boyd, and I thought this was part of the same series. It isn’t, but it is.

The Nikki Boyd Files are contemporary Christian suspense novels, each following Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agent Nikki Boyd through a case. The subplot is her search for her sister, who was abducted outside her school more than ten years ago and hasn’t been seen since. V

This book was amazing and I couldn't devour it fast enough and was picking it up every spare second. Despite a non-stop schedule I had this book finished in around 24 hours and it kept me up way later than I intend even though I was exhausted. I loved the three Nikki Boyd novels and the story of the Angel Abducter and what had happened to Sarah had intrigued me immensely. I loved getting to see the case from almost the beginning and even though I knew they wouldn't solve it for many years I was ...more

What a truly unique conclusion to the Nikki Boyd series! Or you might consider Vanishing Point the first book not the fourth since Harris takes us back to the beginning of the Angel Abductor's killing spree so this is definitely one you can read without having read any of the other books. This is a gripping look at the meticulous work that goes into crime solving. And it's realistic. The story spans a decade as the agents play a game of cat-and-mouse with their mysterious killer.

Bestselling and award-winning author Lisa Harris unveils an unforgettable story of a case that has haunted the public and law enforcement for more than a decade. Fans of the Nikki Boyd Files will thrill to finally discover what actually happened to Nikki's sister, Sarah. New readers will become instant fans after devouring this chilling tale.

Now I understand why this book is labeled a Nikki Boyd novel as opposed to one of the Nikki Boyd Files. Rather than being another of Nikki's cases, this is the story of the ultimate case--the Angel Abductor and murderer, starting with its beginnings, working through the disappearance of Nikki's sister, and ending in the present day when the case is ultimately solved. As such, the focus is on the main investigators of the case--Jordan and Garrett--rather than Nikki herself, though she takes activ ...more

I found this book absolutely fascinating! I have read the other three books in the series, so I really appreciated the way this story was put together. The novel begins back in the past, with investigators looking into the abductions and deaths of teenage girls. If you have not read the other books in the series, you could still pick up Vanishing Point and read it as a stand alone, however, the emotional impact may be lessened a bit. The entire series deals with gritty details and events that ar ...more

This is the seventh of Lisa Harris's novels that I've read. I have been hooked on the Nikki Boyd Files series since the start of book one and have been eagerly awaiting the revelation of what really happened to Nikki's sister Sarah! So needless to say Vanishing Point was one of the books I was most anticipating in 2017.
Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that Vanishing Point just fell flat for me and left me feeling quite disappointed. I liked the main characters Garrett and Jordan, I fel

"How can you tell another family that their daughter isn't coming home?"

The Nashville, Tennessee region is experiencing the horror of what appears to the work of a serial killer and Garrett Addison's first week on the criminal investigative team of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has just gotten a lot more complicated. When the F. B. I. arrives onto the scene to assist, Garrett is reunited with the lovely agent that he could never forget, not even during the years that have separated them.

Special Agent Garrett Addison joined the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's homicide division a week ago and draws a case where a blonde teenager is found dead in a partial grave with a gunshot wound. Jordan Lambert of the FBI comes from Quantico to help investigate since a polaroid picture left behind is the sign of a serial killer called the Angel Abductor. Turns out Garrett and Jordan used to date before she joined the Bureau.

Most this novel takes place in the past with just the last quarter of the book taking place in the present day. As a fan of the Nikki Boyd series, one question has hung in my mind from the beginning. It’s the same one that drove Nikki into law enforcement and kept her plunging ahead as a missing persons investigator. What happened to Nikki’s sister?
Garrett Addison has joined the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and one of his first cases involves a Polaroid picture and a murdered teenage girl. The girl is not the first and points to a serial killer the media has dubbed The Angel Abductor. Because of the

Vanishing Point is a story that I have been waiting for a long time for. Part of the Nikki Boyd series, we finally are given a detailed look at the crisis that drove Nikki to the law enforcement leaving behind her career as a school teacher. This story starts a few years before Nikki’s sister is kidnapped and goes through present day (probably about 12 years overall) and we are given a look at the cases of the previous girls who were taken by the so called Angel Abductor. Vanishing Point has a different "feel" to the story in that it doesn't have Nikki Boyd as the primary character. The plot involves the total career of the serial murderer that caused the death of the sister of Nikki Boyd, Sarah. This book takes the reader back to the investigation of cases prior to Sarah's and then leaps to current time when another young woman is missing.

The main characters of Vanishing Point are a local investigatory, Garrett, and Jordan an FBI agent who is called in to help w

We finally get the conclusion to what has been one of the best series I have ever read!

This series began two years ago and I immediately fell in love with Nikki Boyd. With each book, we followed Nikki and her team as they investigated missing girls and more taunts from the Angel Abductor. With each installment, I hoped beyond hope we would finally discover the identity of the killer and learn the truth behind Nikki's sister's disappearance. And with each closing chapter, we were left with anothe

I really enjoyed this series, and thought it had ended with book #3. When I got the email offering this one for review, I didn't even realize it was part of the series at first. The book doesn't have the same look as the others, and does not have the same main characters, though Nikki Boyd is in the book some.

Vanishing Point actually starts around 13 years before the rest of the series, something I didn't understand at first. Once I caught onto the time line, it was easy to get caught up in th

This is my second Nikki Boyd novel and I loved it every bit as much as the last one I read. Ms. Harris is a talented author who knows what to bring to her readers. She blends the heart pounding suspense, the breathtaking twists and the epic chills that make up a perfect suspense novel. The characters she throws into the story really bring it to life, making it play out more like a movie on the big screen than simply a thrilling novel.

I've read all of the Nikki Boyd Files books and have to say that while I've enjoyed all of them this one has been my favorite! It was so neat to go back in time to see the story behind the series. I also really enjoyed getting to know Jordan and Garrett.

I think I knew this book was going to be five stars at the end of the prologue. I was already hooked and it wasn't even a long prologue. Vanishing Point has such a great mix of danger, suspense, and romance. I also really liked that none of the

This is book 4 in the Nikki Boyd Files Series but it definitely works as a standalone. This story was gripping from beginning to the end. It is a clean police-procedural that follows Garrett and Jordan, who are working tirelessly over a period of many years to track down a serial killer who is targeting young girls.

Garrett and Jordan were great characters…both smart but not robotic or heartless, they gave the reader a glimpse of the emotional toll that one goes through when searching for a murde

This novel should be read after the Nikki Boyd trilogy, as it finally deals with the identity of the Angel Abductor, the killer of Nikki´s sister Sarah.
Nikki is not the main heroine here, but she is present enough for the readers to catch up with her and her news.

What a ride! I like this best from all the Nikki Boyd novels. The novel deals with the hard question of the evil in the world. Also with the weakness, disappointment, the lost energy and the unsatisfying choices in life.

This is the final volume of the Nikki Boyd files and it details what happened to Nikki’s sister (who has disappeared 10 years prior to the events of the first book).

I thought it was a bit odd that Nikki wasn’t the main character in this one, though I guess her story got wrapped up pretty well in the third book. I wasn’t as attached to Garrett and Jordan since they are not in the previous books. I also found the romance a little odd because it was sprinkled in around the tracking of a

Vanishing Point is the first Nikki Boyd book I've read. Jumping into this series at book 4 isn't a problem because this one reads fine as a stand-alone. In fact, Nikki plays an extremely minor role in this book, not even appearing until midway, and then only in cameo appearances. Readers looking to spend time with the star character might be disappointed.

When I opted to read this one, I didn't realize that the series is Christian fiction. The Christian aspect isn't overwhelming. Mostly, it's ch

In the conclusion to the Nikki Boyd Files, readers get a feel for what it's like to work on a case for years with little success. I could feel the frustration of Garrett and Jordan as they worked to find the identity of a serial killer over the span of 13 years. While Garrett and Jordan were both likable, their romance was beyond frustrating. I also found some of the details of the serial murders difficult to believe.

Overall, I enjoyed this series and was glad to check back in with Nikki and Tyl

He decided not to just sweep down and fix our problems every time something goes wrong. Instead he chose to redeem us eternally by sending his Son.” Tragedies like the Oklahoma City bombing, 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, and Sandy Hook flipped through Garrett’s mind. The reality of a fallen world was clear. And yet like Jordan said, wasn’t God’s plan really a plan of redemption? Yes, he believed that God was capable of fixing our problems, but he chose instead to rescue and redeem humankind permanently. “Maybe,” he said, trying to put his thoughts into words, “there isn’t” 1 likes
