Peppa Pig and her brother, George, discover the wonders of the public library.
Peppa and George are tired of all their regular bedtime stories. The only book they haven't read is Daddy's library book, The Wonderful World of Concrete . . . what a snooze! It's overdue anyway, so the family sets out for Peppa's very first visit to a library. With so many books to choose from, how will Peppa ever decide which ones to borrow? Bedtime will never be boring again!

First sentence: It's bedtime for Peppa and George. "Could we have a story, please?" asks Peppa. "Okay," says Mummy Pig. "Here's the one about the red monkey." "We always read that one," says Peppa. "The red monkey takes a bath, brushes his teeth, and goes to sleep. Let's choose another book instead."
Premise/plot: Peppa Pig and the Library Visit is a book based on an episode of the Peppa Pig show. In this episode, the family visits the library to return Daddy Pig's VERY overdue library book, The World of Concrete. While there, Peppa Pig picks out three new books to take home. One of them features the Red Monkey having ADVENTURES.
My thoughts: I really love, love, love some episodes of Peppa Pig. This one is a great episode. It makes sense to turn it into a book. I don't equally love all the Peppa Pig books. Some are quite honestly a bit on the boring side. But this one isn't. This one is entertaining for the most part. I would consider it a must if your little one loves all things Peppa.

What?! Daddy Pig has had the book out for 10 years and they don’t owe any fines and everything’s hunky dory And (most unbelievable!) the book is still in the system?! 😱But they’re only allowed to check out three books at a time?! What is this strange library? 😂 I’m also annoyed that Mummy & Daddy had failed to take their kids to the library up to this point. 😑
Too much librarianing in my reading of this. Lol. But, truly, it was awesome to see the librarian in this as someone who isn’t a mean, scary gatekeeper but rather an advocate for reading, always. ❤️
And let’s be totally honest - I really only like these books because I like practicing my accents. 😉

Peppa wants a new bedtime story. She finds a book on concrete. Daddy took it from the library and forgot to return it. He returns it the next day, it's 10 yrs overdue! This is Peppa's first library visit and she is overwhelmed with all the choices. She picks three new books for bedtime stories.
Who doesn't love Peppa Pig! This one is one of my favorites because of course it takes place in a library and I am a librarian. Of course most of the Peppa Pig books are taken directly out of the show so since my daughter used to watch that show everyday (all day long if she had the choice), I've seen this episode at least a dozen times. Still fun though and kids love them too!
Peppa and George are introduced to the library for the first time (and their father realizes he has a massive fine for a much overdue book). Peppa's friends are at the library, all finding books that piqued their interests. A longer version of the board book adaptation of _Peppa goes to the library_.
Honestly, Peppa is kind of the worst. She's very annoying and rude. It tries to come across as youthful ignorance, but not well. The one this that I LOVED about this, however, was the page where the alarm goes off, lights flashing, when Daddy Pig checks in a book that he's had for TEN YEARS!! How "naughty" of him!! Absolutely hilarious the drama of it all!
Peppa Pig and the Library Visit is a simple and lighthearted story about going to the library. While it’s cute and suitable for very young children, I found it a bit basic and predictable. The reversible coloring poster is a fun addition, but overall, the story didn’t stand out or hold my attention. It’s okay for toddlers or preschoolers, so I gave it three stars.
I read this book to my grandkids last night and today I paid their library fines! They enjoyed the story and we had fun reading it so it has our seal of approval.
The book provides a good message in a fun story and it encourages visits to the library.
Overall the story was fine and introduces libraries and their joy quite well.
I was confused that Mummy Pig was returning library books and yet Peppa and George had never been to the library and didn't know what they were. It gave me a head tilt moment.
My daughter absolutely loved this book! I work at our public library so any time we read a book about going to the library she compares it to ours! Very cute and quick read!
