This book was from my childhood. It isn't one of my favorites but the illustrations are nice and there's a subtle moral.

Kevin is afraid Santa won't be able to deliver his present because he lives in an apartment and they don't have a chimney. He asks his mom to call the man living in the penthouse of their complex to ask permission for Santa to enter through there. His mom doesn't want to because the man is "a very wealthy, strange man who likes to be left alone".

There are people who are rich and some of those rich people happen to by shy or introverted. That doesn't make them "strange". It doesn't mean those people are patronizing just because they aren't inclined to socialize.

In the end of this book we find out that the "wealthy, strange man" living in the penthouse is actually very kind and generous.
