In Déjà You, five authors share stories of second chances, as varied in telling as the writers themselves.

Kelly Cain’s We’ll Always Have Oahu takes us on a whirlwind New Adult romance set in the 80s between a young woman on a high school graduation trip and a handsome Navy sailor.

Bianca M. Schwarz transports us to 1760 in The Pearl with the story of Marcus Landover, who at

At first glance the stories in Deja You don’t seem to have very much in common. Each one is set in a different time or in a different part of the world, they all feature different characters and some even have an air of magic to them. But all short stories have one aspect in common: They give their characters a second chance - at love, at life, at happiness.

In Kelly Cain’s We’ll always have Oahu high school graduate Kassidy meets as young Navy sailor at her graduation trip and their vacation fli

Recommends it for: romance, short story readers over the age of 18.

I had the pleasure of reading a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for honest feedback. I will start with romances are not my normal choice for reading material. The book is a quick read of short stories. I loved that they were different in settings yet all had the second chance theme. Every story left me wanting more. I highly recommend this book especially if romance is your thing.

My favorite short story was The Eyes of the Heart. It is set up well and I was immediately able to follo

I was given a free copy of Deja You: Stories of Second Chances for my honest review of the book.

The book contains five short stories written by Kelly Cain, Bianca M. Schwarz, Amanda Linsmeier, Jamie McLachlan and C. H. Armstrong. As the title suggests all the stories are to do with second chances; however, they all are based on lost love which is found again.

In complete honesty, I must admit romance is my least favorite genre to read. However, I quite enjoyed this book. I think each author did

I was gifted an early copy for an honest review, however I also pre-ordered a kindle edition because I have loved everything Amanda Linsmeier has written. This collection of stories did not disappoint. It is a great quick summer read, and I also found some new authors to check into. Each story is so different, yet they all have the same theme of second chances. I love short stories over novels any day. It's so much easier to read a quick short story and get that satisfaction of knowing how the s ...more

(In full disclosure, I have to say I haven't ever reviewed or even rated one of my own books, and I feel slightly weird doing so, however I'm basing my review on the stories within the book (excluding my own, which of course I do love) so it feels less weird ;))

I loved the four other stories in this book. I loved that they were all so different. And you'd think maybe it would be jarring, going from 1980's Hawaii to 1760's England (to take the first two for example), but it was so easy for me to

I was gifted with an advance copy of DeJa You Stories of Second Chances, for a honest review. I enjoyed every story. Each story is an attention grabber from the first lines. Each entry made me wish that it was an entire book instead of a short story. If a reader is looking for a Summer time book fix, De Ja You is the book for you. GREAT JOB AUTHORS!!!! I Believe in Second Chances

A novel with 5 short stories all about 2nd chances with love. I don't normally read "romance" novels. I thought one of the stories was relatively weak and lacked. 3 were fun, quick, worthy of reading. The last story was my favorite. Mr Midnight kept my attention, filled my heart and my eyes, and I connected with it the most. I would definitely recommend Deja You to anyone. Especially you romance novel readers. Enjoy!

Five Second-Chance Stories Fell Flat

This is a collection of five stories, ranging from long short story to novella in length. The compilation is by 5 authors who are a part of a writing support group. The stories range in type and heat level (from sweet to steamy). One of them is a young adult, coming-of-age story. Two of them are historical romances, one Regency and one Edwardian (though the latter actually seemed fairly Regency in tone and manners). One is more in the vein of chick lit. Unfort

Five authors. Five second-chance stories. All different, all compelling, all wonderful to read. My favorite is The Eyes of the Heart by Jamie McLachlan. Rosalina lost her eyesight and her hobby - painting. Her mother is pressuring her to marry Mr. Cornwell, but she's taken an interest in the new gardener. Reid doesn't patronize her because of her blindness, but rather lets her help with the gardening, and shows her how to paint again. When she finds out who he really is, she sends him away. I enjoyed this anthology of stories about second chances, though imho The Pearl doesn’t really fit into that category unless they include the idea of a general second chance at life too. But whatever, they were all entertaining and had great characters, and it was fun to read such a wide variety of genres with the same overall theme. I was not familiar with any of the authors, but look forward to reading more works by each and every one of them.

I received a free copy of Déjà You, but that did no

This is a group of "second chance" romance short stories by five different authors, ranging from NA to adult, historical to contemporary to magical realism. For me the writing was just okay. Some of the stories might be better developed as novellas or even novellas, and a few, I just couldn't get into the premise. 2.5 stars

Every page is elegantly addictive.

Five stories by five different authors, with a common theme, and who doesn't like second chances?

This is the first Anthology set I've read, but you don't have to read them in order to enjoy them. They can each be a stand-alone. the stories are fun, the characters

Kelly Cain is a native Northern Californian but has spent the last couple of decades in Texas, currently residing in the live music capital of the world, Austin. Consequently, most of her books are set somewhere between those two locations.

Kelly writes multicultural romance with determined women directing their own fates, and the swoon-worthy men who adore them. She loves reading most genres but p
