A brightly illustrated edition of the classic story with prompts for adult led discussion at the end of the book. The gingerbread man runs from just three characters before he encounters the fox (who eats him!). This slightly shorter version will be easier for groups with shorter attention spans. There are prettier versions (Jan Brett) and versions with richer language (Jim Aylesworth), but this version is a quicker read, features a diverse grandma is modern clothing and offers nice ideas for adults to use when reading with children.

I forget how amazing this story is... I read it to my grandson Peter tonight before bed. The pictures are amazing and he had so much fun saying all the different sounds of the animals.
