Check out my review of this book including our recipe results on Saturday's Kitchen @

I was browsing through some cookbooks at my local library a few weeks ago and came across this cookbook in the new section. The cover spoke to me and I had to grab it. My family loves cookies and I'm always interested in trying some new recipes and was I ever surprised!

This cookbook has over 80 different cookie recipes. The author covers the basics, frostings, equipment,

I received a free electronic copy of Sally's Cookie Addiction by Sally McKenney from NetGalley for my review. Beautifully written cookbook with beautiful, mouth-watering pictures. I love her Top 10 Cookie Making Tips: Chill out, Butter is better, Turn up the heat, Switch it up, Leave breathing room, Stick to the middle ground, Go with your gut, Follow the 5 minute rule, Respect the mat and Carbs rule. This would be a beautiful gift for any baker.

I love baking cookies, especially for my son who’s away at college. When we dropped him off at school that first time, I sent several different kinds with him and kept him pretty much stocked the entire year. I was horrified to learn that my cookies were such a hit that a few members of the football team were offering to trade my son a fifth of whiskey for some. He assured me he didn’t take that trade, and I decided to stick my head in the sand and believe him. Now that my son’s a senior, I can ...more

I’ve yet to make any of the recipes, but I have enjoyed many recipes from Sally’s blog. I love the advice/tips Sally gives and how well she explains everything. Overall, a wonderful book any baker ought to keep on hand.

-Have made the brown butter snickerdoodles. While a little greasy (buttery) at first, they were great. Baked them for 30 seconds less
-made the crispy chocolate chip cookies. They’re perfectly crisp but then soft the next day

I love baking. And, I especially love baking cookies. They're my ace in the hole, my first go-to. I'm constantly on the lookout for new recipes to add into my repertoire. Plus, the holidays are coming up, when my need to bake goes into overdrive. All in all, this is a solid book that's chock full of cookies.

The book is divided into chapters that are mostly flavor or ingredient based including: introduction/tips, Family Favorites, All About Oats, Happy Holidays, Shortbread and Slice and Bakes

I was given an advanced copy of this book via Netgalley and the author.

First, I want to start by stating that I am in no way a baker! I downloaded this book with the intention of trying one or two recipes. So far, I have successfully made the giant M&M cookies, hot cocoa cookies, and the shortbread. For someone who NEVER bakes and was apprehensive about attempting to bake, this book was definitely helpful. The author's recipes were easy to follow for the cookies that I made and the end

I check out a lot of cookbooks from the Library, and this is my favorite so far this year. The pictures of the cookies and bars take up a whole page. And bonus, there is a picture for every single recipe. Not every cookbook does that. Big props to you and your editor for including them. I don't think there was a single recipe in here, that I would not try. All were totally doable with no weird ingredients that you have to go to a special store to pick up. If you are a regular baker, you will ...more

This cookbook is absolutely amazing! The recipes are mouth-watering just by reading them and when you add in the pictures it is mind blowing! The instructions are very easy to follow and there is quite a range of different types of cookies to be tried. I'm writing this review after downloading a galley book from Net Galley. As soon as pay day rolls around I will be purchasing a permanent copy of Sally's Cookie Addiction cookbook by Sally McKenney. Why? Her cookbook is absolutely one of the best cookie cookbooks I've read in a very long time. McKenney has created a wide and varied selection of cookie recipes which should make almost every cookie lover happy. She has also offered plenty of cookie baking tips sprinkled throughout her cookbook. ...more

Did I ever read this at the right time of year! I bookmarked FIVE recipes to make just for holiday giving: giant M&M cookies, soft-baked sugar cookie bars, butterscotch no-bakes for my Dad, hot cocoa cookies, and peanut butter-stuffed cookie cups. There are so many excellent recipes in here-- I added it immediately to my own Christmas wishlist because, if I don't get a copy of my own, I will have to transcribe half of my preview... and I plan to buy at least two copies to give as gifts. ...more

I have a serious cookie addiction. Is there anything better than a buttery, soft, sweet, chewy cookie to brighten up you day? Every year for the holidays I bake cookies and share them with my coworkers, friends, and family. We’re not just talking a batch or two of chocolate chip here. Last year I made 8 different kinds of cookies and more than one batch of 4 of those. Now that you understand how important cookies are to me… you might be able to guess that I am in love with this book. I have been ...more

If you love cookies and are ALWAYS on the look out for more recipes?
This book will offer you a few.

Its a nice mixture of old classics and new spins, with great pictures and well done recipes.

For me personally there was a bit too much colour in it all. What i mean by that is that i am not a sprinkle or M&M kind of person. I can't eat anything that is artificially flavoured (yup thats a REALLY nice allergy to

I love Sally's recipes online and now use both her Gingerbread and Holiday Cutouts recipes as standbys. I was thrilled that McKenney wrote a book of her cookie only recipes since it's much faster to browse than the blog that launched her career.

The chapters of the book are familiar, but quirky, including one each on oatmeal and sprinkles, in addition to holiday, chocolate and other familiar cookie types. I made 5 recipes (well half-recipes) on the same day to test the consistency of the recipes.

A wonderful book about cookies weather you have been baking for years or just beginning. The beginning opens with what you need and how to start each recipe with fresh not expired dates. You also get many recipes and you get many useful tips along the way. Her royal icing recipe and the tip of how to use it form a bottle instead of a bag I found helpful. Sally's Cookie Addiction by Sally McKenney is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in mid-September.

An eclectic choice of recipes for traditional cookies (like sugar or chocolate chip), oaty ones, Christmas cookies, shortbread & cut cookies, and ones with a focus on nuts, sprinkles, different flavors, and even more chocolate. McKenney's narrative voice is cheerful, encouraging, and approaches cookies with more of a sense of awe than the fixation of addiction (even if the photographs are zoomed

I got this from NetGalley to preview.

A good collection of cookies to tempt those who want to go a little bit further than the basic chocolate chip. As one who loves to bake cookies for my friends, I wanted to try several of these recipes. I noted a few of the recipes down and will be trying them in the coming months. I did appreciate her hints on chilling dough (something I do already) and to not substitute ingredients. A good book for those wanting to expand their cookie repertoire.
