An Ominous Book
Lord Spaulding’s perfect life as the elusive mortal elf who rules the Kasimma Clan has ended up in haywire when his best friend Trevilin left two unwanted guests at his doorstep one autumn day: two orphan children from a disgraced noble family that are his long-lost blood relatives named Richard and Nelida Earlrose. Spaulding must now find the way to bring these two children back to their nation and along the way, destroy a dangerous piece of sorcery that hides in his castle before King Salman and the Äimite guard find out.

I think this book is inspired in another stories like “The Lord of the Rings” but this doesn`t affect the book because the story is fascinating. This written starts with two elves, Trevelin who is the best friend of the protagonist of the story, that is called Lord Spaulding, that is an elf who rules a clan. A clan called the Kasimma Clan. All the “troubles” starts when Trevelin found two kids called Richard and Nelida at his doorstep. Later Lord Spauldin will know the kids are part of his family. To fix al the problems Lord Spaulding needs to get back to the kids to the city that corresponds, some another troubles will appear in the road but nothing will stop Lord Spaulding.
Well… I think that my favorite character is Lord Spaulding because he is brave but also compasive, I think that if I could be an elf I would like to be Lord Spaulding , the two kids well they are not the better persons in the world and Nelida´s thoughts are very desesperating and Trevelin is not of my favorites characters because he is shy.
I recommend a lot this book because is thought provoking because all the troubles make you think about of all the other real problems that can happen, that can exist in our daily life

This well written book has a fascinating plot with amazing characters. An Ominous Book tells the story of Lord Spaulding, a blonde elf who is the Lord of Tesafar and a ranger. While Spaulding was resting in his castle his friend Trevilin , a black haired elf, arrived with two orphan children who were a distant relatives of Spaulding. The principal them of the book is fantasy.
The main character Is Lord Spaulding who is the leader of the Kasimma clan and a ranger of his kingdom received his two distant cousins who are Richard, a ten yeared old boy and Nelida, a six yeared old girl. Then there is Trevilin , a black haired elf who is a ranger and the friend of Spaulding.
I really enjoyed the story while I was reading this book. What I really loved about the book is the place where is located the main plot which is Tesafar. Another thing that I liked about the book are the drawings of the cover. The only criticism I would make is that in the firsts chapters there are some boring parts but I still think the book is amazing.

This medieval science fiction novel YA, is based on medieval lands, where elfs and humans coexist, but they also have some problems. In an elf ranger mission (Trevelling) he meets two children (Richard and Nelida); since this moment, Trevelling needs to take care of the children, but by personal circumstances he can´t look after for them, so he looks for Lord Spaulding (Kasima clan leader and also our main character) that accepts the deal to take back the children to human land. During this mission; our characters face many obstacles. An amazing novel.
It tells the story of Richard and Nelida, two small human children with a hard past, that only want to have a family. An Ominous book
It´s a science fiction book, which sets the story in the elves kingdom and the human lands. It tells the story of two children that are brought to Tesafar, where they meet their uncle. Though they don´t hit it off well at the beginning, later they start to appreciate each other and become like a family.
The main character is Lord Spaulding the leader of the Kasima clan, who is brave and kind. He has to take care of his nephews Nelida, a stressful and capricious girl; and Richard a curious boy. But he needs the help of his friends Hamarin, who is the teacher of both children; and Trevelin, who helps him to bring them back to human lands.
I´ve not finish the book yet, but what I´ve read is well written, stunning and exceptional. The book starts slowly but when you continue reading you focus more in it. What I liked most was how the writer has a lot of imagination. If you like fantasy books, you should read it.

Omninous book is a fantasy fiction book that I really enjoyed when i read it, I like the story that happens in the elves kingdom and human land, also I love the theme what was discussed in this book since I think that combination of medieval and fantasy is perfect and with the main characters what are Lord Spaulding, Treveling, Nelida and Richard I was fascinated with them.
The book tells the story of Lord Spaulding, a brave and faire elf that lives in Tesafar. He has his best friend, Treveling, he is and elf who is the confident of Spaulding and he has the ability to convince people.Nevertheless the other characters are Nelida who i consider that she is a foolish and distrusful girl, and Richard, a polite guy who bundles with the behaviors of his sister.
In my opinion I consider that Ominous Book is perfect and i really pay my respects to the writer because i think that all that she wrote is so entertaining and full of a lot of imagination of which i very enjoyed.

The book is a science-fiction book, it takes place in the “land of the elves”, it´s about Lord Spaulding, Nelida, Richard and Trevilin. Richard and Nelida met Trevilin and he took them to Spaulding, because he is his far lost uncle.
Spaulding is a brave character, he is very gentle with all the people. Trevilin is like the right hand of Spaulding but he is funnier than Spaulding. Nelida is a naughty girl, and Richard is like Spaulding but in a different way.
Actually I´m really enjoying very much this book. At the beginning, I thought this book was going to be boring for me, but actually it catches you from the beginning. The only thing I don´t like very much is Nelida´s attitude. It is like so stressful, that is the only thing I can´t tolerate in people. I like very much Lord Spaulding, but, I think he could be a better half-blooded (If you hadn´t read the book, don´t continue) only if when he tastes the human´s food, he likes it, it´s in his blood at the end of the day.

Well, I only read five chapters and they were amaizing. They try to cath you in the story of Lord Spaulding and his family. I really get into the story when they kidnap Lord Spaulding. The only thing thet I get confused it was when the girl Nelida gets angry and I don´t know why.
Lord Spaulding has a humor that shows us that it is more mature. She thinks that it isn´t correct to take desiccions that they are able to do. I get desesperatewith Nelida she is extremely arrogant. Treveling is faire with everybody and brave.
What I really love is the imagination of Nancy. I really enjoy this book, well I have only read five chapters. I recommend this book because it really catches you into the story. I love it.

i always struggle rating YA/middle grade books because im not the target audience, and i seldom read them.
I do believe that kids would enjoy reading this, it has elves, castles, kids in peril, adventure and all that. Longer review to come.

"An Ominous Book" tlaks about Lord Spaulding as the main character and his best friend Trevillin. Lord Spaulding is an elf who rules Kassima Clan. All problems start when Trevillin found two children, Richard and Nelida. Lord Spaulding will know that the children are part of his family and to fix all problems they need to go back to the human city.
Lord Spaulding is the leader of the Kassima Clan, he is a great a swordsman, he's handsome and very strong. He manipule fire and water. Trevillin, an elf who has black hair, is a ranger and Lord Spaulding's best friend.
In my opinion, it was a boring book to me, I didn't enjoy it because I prefer crime books. I get confused in some parts because there are a lot of words that I don't know. And it's story is difficult for me to understand

I just finished reading the book An Ominous Book (An Ominous Book, #1) by Nancy Foster and the book is utterly entertaining!
It is very clever the way the writer takes you very nicely from chapter 1 until the dramatic and quite unexpected ending. You can't help falling for Lord Spaulding. The writer gives you hints of his personality and demeanor, and the character grows into you without becoming aware until it has finally hooked you.
I really like Ms. Foster's writing style, which is not cumbersome, on the contrary, it is quite nimble. Not only do her words just flow nicely but also she is capable of giving you such precise descriptions of rather difficult episodes (like chapter 5), with scenes that are so fast-paced, dynamic and dramatic, that you really feel like you are right there in the middle of the battles. Really awesome!
I also like the fact that she takes the time to give you enough descriptions of each character so that you feel like you know them. Ms. Foster is really skillful in this, and above all her imagination, wow! how she thought about all the intricacies of the plots. Indeed, great book.
Overall, it is a great book and I truly recommend it. It is full of emotion, mystery, adventure, great characters, elphs, castles, magic, human emotions all intertwined in a most delightful way.
Great book, Ms. Foster! Can't wait to read the next one.

January 23, 2018Our history starts at the medieval world of Tesafar where is the home of our hero named Lord Sapulding. He is a very important elf ranger that mysteriously is a decendent of human people, as a result of this he have two little nephews, Nelida and Richard. One of the strongest things about this book, is the way how it takes you into the places and the problems that each character cross away.
In the story there are many charaters, but the main ones are Lord Spaulding, Nelida, Richard and Trevelin. Nelida is the niece of Lord Spaulding and obviously the sister of Richard, she is a little creepy and for my so whining, she doesn't like anything. Richard is kind of more patient and Icould identify me more with him. Trevelin is a friend of Lord Spaulding that is brave and responsable for bringing the children to Tezafar . Finally Lord Spaulding, he is a very important elf that is the boss of the Kamisa clan and also a sangynary ranger that has an incredible castle.
From my point of view it's an incredible book of science fiction that I obviously recommend because thye kind of language it uses is very well written and the drawings the autor makes are so creative

Today, I'm going to review Nancy Foster's book named "An Ominous Book". It talks about two elves, one is named Lord Spaulding and the other one is named Trevelin. Trevelin found two kids in the Human Kingdom and he wants to return the kids to their house, but Lord Spaulding doesn't want to help him. After Lord Spaulding accepted, they began their adventure with some disagrees and fights in the road.
Lord Spaulding is an elf, Trevelin's best friend, leader of the Kasimma Clan and he didn't want to help Trevelin with the kids. Trevelin is also an elf, Lord Spaulding's best friend and he was the one who found the kids. And the kids, named Richard and Nelida Earlrose.
I recommend this book to all of you because it has a wonderful story and amazing characters. Also, I liked it because it perfectly matches elves with Asian culture and it seemed very unusual for me seeing that combination. It can easily be your next favorite book. Great job Nancy!

An story full of elves.
The book tells the story of the master of Tesafar Castle, Lord Spaulding that allows two humans into his castle by request of a dear friend called Trevilin. The book is set in a world full of mysteries where elves and humans coexist in the same world, for obviousness the main theme is fantasy that involves you since the first paragraph.
The main character as I said is Lord Spaulding who appears to be tough, but he has a great heart because even knowing well two foreigners he allowed them to stay in his castle. Nelida who is so scared to prove new things and Richard that is excited about all of it. The responsability of taking care of the two kids is Trevilin, a close friend of Spaulding which you love fim for his kindness and all of them make a great cast.
What i really like about the book are the references to Japanese culture which I really admire, everything else is great, an amazing book!

The Ominous book is set in an elvish kingdom. It is a fascinating story about two kids, a girl and a boy named Richard and Nelida and they go to visit their uncle Lord Spaulding, the leader of the kassima clan. The guys have problems until they get there because all the elfs saw the rarely because they are humans. Also Lord Spaulding had problems with them. It is a fantastic story and it is also an exceptional adventure.
The main charactres are Nelida, Richard, Lord Spaulding and Trevilin. Nelida is nice but sometimes she doesn´t like anything. Richard is understanding and a good boy. Lord Spaulding is an angry elf but sometimes he tries to be understanding with the kids and Trevilin is a good and nice elf.
I also recommend to read this book. It is an exceptional adventure, is incredible and a fascinating world where there are many trips and things that they live. It is a well-written and a perfect fantasy story.

This book was a rollicking, fun, good time that is made for kids of all ages to enjoy!
You have elves, castles, magic, sword fights, magical beasts, criminals, danger, laughter, fun and adventure. This would make an exceptional movie series or television show. There is no bullying of the children and the fun tends to outweigh anxious parts, for the most part.
My favorite scene is the rescue of Richard from the criminals. It is brilliant and I read it twice! Just fantastic how the Water Sage used the sword to wipe out the criminals.
I didn’t care for Froylan or King Salman, for the most part. The end of the book lost me. I can’t comprehend how ******* (bleeped character name to avoid spoliers) becomes the most powerful witch/warlock and can destroy everything. I didn’t enjoy the ending and that took this book from 5 stars to 4 stars. Still, a fun read overall.

A highly recommended book, an original and creative story, which demonstrates the great talent of its author. With a story that catches you from start to finish ... and definitely the unexpected ending, it leaves you with a huge desire to read the whole saga. I LOVED!!!

An Ominous book
An Ominous book is a book of Nancy Foster. The book is made for young people to read it. The story mixes two different cultures the elf and human, which main characters are Lord Spaulding (elf)and the two brothers Nelida (human) and Richard (human). Lord Spaulding has two distant nephews Nelida and Richard but he doesn't know it, until Trevelin his best friend bring his two nephews that were stolen without parents. At the beginning Lord Spaulding want the kids to leave, but the relationship begin to be more closer and by the time they have to leave. There is when the real adventure begins.
Lord Spaulding a serious leader, with a particular way to see the world. he is a strong man, which he doesn't comprehend the human culture . Nelida and Richard are two brothers. Richard is a nice kid and Nelida at the beginning was an angry girl but in few months she starts to change her habits. Travelin is the best friend of Lord Spaulding and he will always be there if you need him. He is not a noble, but he is a warrior and he can be with the three people that he helped in the story.
In my opinion, the book had an interesting story, a goog relationshisp between the main characters and the reader but the thing that the book can improve is the way like it is written because it has some commas mistakes. But in my particular opinion the book was really good and it's a great beginning of a great story.

Lord Spaulding a serious leader, with a particular way to see the world. he is a strong man, which he doesn't comprehend the human culture . Nelida and Richard are two brothers. Richard is a nice kid and Nelida at the beginning was an angry girl but in few months she starts to change her habits. Travelin is the best friend of Lord Spaulding and he will always be there if you need him. He is not a noble, but he is a warrior and he can be with the three people that he helped in the story.
In my opinion, the book had an interesting story, a goog relationshisp between the main characters and the reader but the thing that the book can improve is the way like it is written because it has some commas mistakes. But in my particular opinion the book was really good and it's a great beginning of a great story.

The Ominous Book is an adventure story that shows how Lord Spaulding's life changes abruptly when his nephews, Richard and Nelida, start living with himafter their parents were killed and their rings, which show their own uncle. While reading this interesting book, you get to know why the characters act the way they do. It is full of action, family love and friendship.
Lord Spaulding is a braveand determined hybrid elf, lider od the Kassima Clan and Ranger, who lives in Tesalfar, a city of tthe Elf Kingdom which is governed by Lord Master Salman. Spaulding has the ability to use magic and his Hiratori is a fire-bird, that makes him very powerful. His nephew, Richard, is a smart and polite eight years noble boy who really falls for his uncle's castle and Tesalfar. Nelida, Richard's sister is a brat with a grumpy personality who really dislikes the elf's lifestyle but as time goes on she starts to get on well with Spaulding and his best friend and the children teacher, Trevilin. He is a friendly, brave and empathic elf who's job is being a Ranger.
Personally I think this has been one of the best books I've read because it really made me feel excited for keeping with the story every friday. I also loved the developing of the characters, how Spaulding started to love his nephews and Nelida accepted the differences between humans and elves and began to love and worry about his uncle and Trevelin.

An Ominous Book is a book for teenagers written by Nancy Foster. The book is not really common, but only by looking at the cover is attractive. If you are a reader that like topics like fantasy, adventures, royalty, magic and mystery this book is for you. I give you a little I introduction, this story starts when Lord Spaulding who is an elf discovered that has two distant nephews that are humans and they got stolen because they are part of the royalty, but then Lord Spaulding does not really agree to take care of them, so what is going to happen to the two kids?

An Ominous Book
This particular story of fantasy takes us through a trip full of action, thrill, mystery and magic. The world of elves and humans contrast in such extreme ways, showing the elvish world as a society of peace and order while the human world stuck in the middle ages shows poorness, hate and danger.
Our hero and protagonist is an elf, leader of a clan and governor of one of the cities in the elf kingdom; Lord Spaulding. He is a determined and brave character that throughout the story protects his family and friends, although he doesn´t understand the habits of his human nephews. Nelida and Richard are Spaulding´s distant blood relatives for he is not a pure blooded elf. His nephews are little children who were mistreated by his human uncle and forced to find someone to take care of them. While Richard is polite, Nelida is really spoiled and stubborn.
In my opinion, creating a fantasy world and more importantly, a magic system is an amazing feat when writing, for creating a full culture takes a lot of effort and creativity and the act of writing action scenes isn´t as easy as it seems.

An onminous book is a fantasy book which is not really deep or complex but it's ok for a light read. The story is a mashup of different fantasy story's cliches and some elements really similar to Harry Potter. The characters dialogs sometimes are confusing.
The main hero is Lord Spaulding, a human-elve hybrid who works as a ranger. He will be accompained by his friend Trevellin and two kids he rescued who turned out to be his distant relatives. Trevellin is also a pure blood elf which can live forever unlike Spaulding. Spaulding is an swordman and as most elves can use magic. He is a fire mage which can summon a fire bird called hiratori and change an object temperature. Spaulding is also a nobleman who rules an elvish city called Tesafar which as most elvish cities is technologically superior to the cities in the human reign. The main objetive of the hero is to return the kids to their human relatives but he will find a lot of obstacles in the way.
I kinda liked the book but I guess it could have more interesting characters and shorter dialogs. It would be nice if the author would try to do more worldbuilding and create her own elements for her story.

An Ominous Book. In my opinion, this title did not give you an idea of the fascinating well-written story.
The book is set in an elf kingdom, obviously with elves, but also with two humans, Richard an Nelida, both are from human loyalty.
Richard and Nelida's elf uncle, Lord Spaulding receive them after the dead of their parents. Trevilin participates as an important elf, friend of Lord Spaulding.
The main character, Lord Spaulding, is an intelligent and interesting elf that has been passed through different adventures. During those adventures, Lord Spaulding was not alone. Nelida is demanding, capricious and very unusual girl. Richard is generous, peaceful and more confident. They are adventurous, united and everyone helps each other.
I recommend a lot this book. It is an original and exciting story. It contains different places and characters. This is a story full of fantasy, sciencie fiction, fights, clans. powers, creatures, kidnaps and an extended list of things that makes you feel in suspense during the entire story. Read it!

An ominous book is about a city of elfs, that city is divided in clans, there are 36 clans, but the main class is the "Kassima Clan" whose leader is Lord Spaulding, who is also the ranger and the main character. But one day his nephew Richard came to Tesalfar (the name of the city)and her sister too, Nelida. They are orphans, and them with Lord Spaulding and his best friend, Trevilin, try to open and defeat the evil chest, that contains a cursed object.
Lord Spaulding is courageus, hybrid, intelligent. Trevilin is also courageus and a fool. Nelida is innocent, fool, intelligent, crazy, immature. Richard is also innocent, intelligent, curious, spoiled.
I liked the story beacause it is interesting and I´ve always liked this kind of books, like The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter, so I love magic and like medieval-style. I particullary loved the part where Lord Spaulding wasn´t able to sumon his phantom beast in a combat but he did an amazing job whit his sword and save all of the companions.

This fiction book talks about the story of Lord Spaulding, a blonde elf who is the lord of Tesafar and he is also a renger. This book is also based on medieval lands, where humans and elves used to be together, but there were some problems and they got separated. Also it talks about the story of 2 children that are brought to Tesafar and while they were there, they met their uncle Spaulding. At the beginning they didn't love each other, but at the end they began to appreciated each other and became a real family.
Lord Saudin was a brave elf, always protecting his nephews. Trevilin was always helping Lord Spaulding to fight and gave him suggestions and directed him to do good things. Nelida was at the beginning a little bit irritating.
In my opinion this book didn't catch my attention, because i read another book and i prefer the other story that includes elves. Also it was a little bit fanciful for me, i prefer books that talk about more reality or that talk also about reality but of our city.

An Ominous Book is a well-written book that tells us the story of Lord Spaulding, an elf who seems to be in trouble when he receives his two human relatives in his palace. I love the fantasy world the writer created. The story is about friendship, and a great adventure. It's not clearly as good as Harry Potter, but it is surely memorable.
The main character is Lord Spaulding: A blond elf who is the leader of his clan, Kassima. He's brave, humble, and a great warrior. Next, we have Richard, a boy who has lost his parents. Spaulding takes care of him and his sister, Nelida, after he discovers they are blood relatives. Nelida is a girl who at first doesn't seem to like Lord Spaulding. She even called him "demon"! This science-fiction book will transport you to another world. An Ominous Book contains the fusion of the human and elf kingdom when a pair of kids had to visit their unknown elf uncle in Tesafar but while they stay there, it happens a lot of things that the children will learn about.
The main character of this amazing story is Lord Spaulding, the uncle, and he is an important member in the kingdom, well...he lives in a castle.
Richard and Nelida, his nephew and niece are a nuisance at the beggining, but the more time passes, Lord Spaulding realizes that he can learn a lot from the children.
A thing that attracked my attention is the fact that the story involves secrets in the kingdom that specially Lord Spaulding does not want to say them and has to hide them in order that neither the King nor the Äimite know something.
For me, this one is a well-written and I recommend it. The story becomes more interesting while the pages are happening.

This book is very catchy when you start to read, well it was for me, because of the story, I felt very sympathetic with the caracters. The story is very original and unexpected at some points. It talks about an elf named Spaulding, that is a Lord of the Kasimma clan, that he has a partner that is part human, named Richard. Richard is a kid that has a younger sister named Nelida. The 3 of them have to get adventures for getting to know each other.

The book tells the story of two noble kids that were horphan and they were taken to see their uncle but he was an elf. The noble elf didn’t like the idea of keeping them so he tried to take them to a human kingdom with to noble human uncle, but he refuse to keep the nephew and the niece.
The main characters are the nephew, the niece and the uncle lord spaulding. Richard is like adventurous because he wants to know all the things that happen in the enf kingdom and Nelida is a little girl that her family gave her all she wanted.The uncle lord spaulding is young and energetic because the elves are like immortals and he knows he will live a lot so he likes to be a ranger. He is really capable with the sword and take a lot of care at Richard and Nelida.
