Once I started it I could not stop - I had to keep reading. A young woman, Bri, is having recurring nightmares; each one worse than the last. This book has a lot of secrets you will become aware of as you find out more about a Cole and Brianna and a special army. Calling themselves The Quytel, don’t expect to find out everything as this is only book one. But it holds its own well and is full of action and danger. There are many powerful mysteries in this world. I discovered two such mysteries is this story, one would be the Quytels and their massive fight against the dark. The dark that has been waiting for ages to strike at the heart to diminish all light. And the other would be the shapeshifting wolf clan who can do much more than just shift into wolves. Each member of the pack have amazing abilities.
Both have been working tirelessly to fighting against the evil that resides on this planet we call our home.

The book starts off with the prologue where we see two Quytels arguing. They have been keeping secrets. Trying to keep the world safe without revealing themselves. Forces that they thought were long gone is accumulating and people they were keeping in the dark are no longer safe. One of the Quytel doesn’t agree with keeping their existence a secret anymore, at least not from everyone. We then move on the dreams that assail Bri. Dreams that have been decidedly turning into nightmares. Each time she feels a little bit of her essence leaving her body, but tonight it was hard and more painful, just when she thought she could not survive, a man appears in her dream. She wakes up in her bedroom, breathing hard and cringing in pain. As she slowly comes out of the trance of the nightmare, she wonders about the man. She remembers feeling the sense of calm as soon as their eyes had met.

While Bri was struggling to wake up from the nightmare, Cole and his team were out investigating mysterious deaths, they are gruesome and leaves almost nothing behind. While he’s examining the nonexistent clues, Cole is suddenly flying through the air, an unknown force has control of his body and mind. His wolf struggles to anchor itself onto the earth as he feels the nightmare-ish vision try to take away his essence, his being. In his trancelike vision, he sees two women. He wakes up from his trance, struggles to understand what had just happened and realizes that there is something inside of him compelling him to find one of the mystery woman.

So starts the quest to find the truth. Cole struggles with the connection he has with Bri. Is it just magic or something much bigger? I fell in love with the two protagonist and their instant feelings for each other. And the fight to make sense of all that had transpired in a short time. I loved how the author incorporates Cole’s ability with the earth, it was indeed awe-inspiring to say the least. Mother Nature at her best. I loved how Bri opened herself up to all that was thrown at her, internally struggling yet so brave to jump in to protect her loved ones. In the course of reading this story, I met Jonas, Mack, Mali, the other Quytels and the rest of the clan. Mack had me screaming and chanting no, no, no. How was that even possible? But alas it was, cos the dark one as I’m going to refer to the evil one seems to have acquired devious methods to get what he wants.

The magic, the paranormal and the human-side of all that is Circle of Dreams amazed me. It took me on an emotional yet adventurous journey of discovering new things about life, destroying the safe and normal existence that we are so used to. It took me on a fast paced run that left me breathless and panting for more. Will Bri be able to find the dreams to save all her loved ones or will be evil powers that be take over her and make her do atrocious things? By the end of the book I was blown away and I needed more of this magic and then I found out that this was the author’s first book and that left me awestruck. Circle of Dreams is a great story with plenty of character development, an air of mystery, and a plot that isn't entirely shoved to the wayside halfway through to focus on the romance.

Bri, our heroine, isn't exactly some tough, badass chick but she's not some shrinking wallflower who needs a man to save her. Cole is the alpha hero with a very protective streak but he's not a douchebag. They're a lovely duo to read about and an adorable couple.

Cole and his team, a group of psychics with various a Circle of Dreams is a great story with plenty of character development, an air of mystery, and a plot that isn't entirely shoved to the wayside halfway through to focus on the romance.

Cole and his team, a group of psychics with various abilities, are investigating a string of murders of people who are all psychics. It just so happens to be the story that Bri is working on. A witch woman that Cole sees in a vision (who is also the woman from Bri's nightmares) plants a compulsion in Cole to find Bri. Once they meet, it's a huge explosion of attraction, magic, secrets, and sexytimes that will make you want to keep reading and not stop until you hit the last page. It's extremely enjoyable and fun.

Cole's inner wolf, combined with the compulsion he refers to as 'the pearl', constantly gave me a chuckle because it reminded me of Anastasia Steele's inner goddess and subconscious from Fifty Shades of Grey, especially when the pearl did a triple backflip. Unlike in FSoG, it wasn't obnoxious here, just amusing.

In most fiction dealing with romance, I've grudgingly accepted instalove. I don't like it, but it's done so often I just have to roll with it. Instant attraction, which Bri and Cole experience, is fine and I was happily going along with all their sexual tension because it was enjoyable to read. Once Cole told Bri he loved her after only knowing her a few days, I snorted, rolled my eyes and went "More instalove? Oh, please." It didn't take any enjoyment I had from the story and the entire plot wasn't abandoned so they could have sex and gush over each other. (view spoiler)

Sometimes the POV would change without any kind of break: it just went from one person in one paragraph and immediately switched to someone else in the following paragraph. I'm not sure if this was a formatting issue or not. Just a slight annoyance and definitely not enough to deter me from enjoying the book.

It would have been nice to see Anton a bit more rather than him popping up at the end as The Bad Guy. He's mentioned a few times beforehand, but he's not really fleshed out, he's mostly a 'bwhaha' villain. The big fight scene at the end could have been better as well. Both Bri and Cole don't really fight, so although I had a sense of a huge battle happening, I didn't really know what was actually going on. Seeing more of Cole's team and their investigations would have been nice as well. I thought that's what we were going to get based on the book blurb and was surprised when the investigating was finished so quickly. Not disappointing in the least, just different than what I was expecting.

All in all, a great paranormal romance and a wonderful read. Four stars! ...more

This is the first book in what is going to be a totally addictive series.
The Quytel is a powerful organization of people with physic abilities. They are charged with ensuring the balance of physic power in the world.
Someone is murdering people, and all that is left of the bodies is a dried out husk.
Bri is a reporter chasing the story of a serial killer. She doesn't know just how much she is connected to the case. She soon will.

I really enjoyed this book. I get in a reading slump sometimes and just don’t want to finish books no matter how great they are but I did NOT have that issue with this book. I was up until 5 am reading and I don’t regret a minute of it. I enjoyed all of the paranormal aspects of this story. It was just different enough to keep it interesting.

I am at a loss for words. I have NEVER read a book like this before. It was absolutely AMAZING… One fault that all of us humans have is that we fight love. But as the old saying goes “Love Conquers All!” With a different story line you will not be disappointed. There is action, romance, paranormal activity and the fight for the greater good. This has satisfied my need for something original in the PNR genre.

This is a story that needs you to concentrate, you can't just go for a ride with it. The structure and mythology of the Quytel is complex and hierarchical and has a long reach, one that's been hidden for millennia. I really enjoyed getting to grips with it.

Circle of Dreams is a great start but the mythology will slow the story down as readers try to better understand the author focus and where the story and characters will take them.
Jane Morrissey ends the book with a teaser that will have readers jumping into the second book even with the lack of understanding of the mythology.
The characters are interesting enough for readers who are on the fence to want to see what happens in the next book.

I’m not sure how I feel about this book. Cole and Briana meet through some special circumstance and are brought together thanks to some paranormal stuff. The story was good but I feel like there could have been more between the two. Cole is trying to keep her safe, Briana is trying to keep Cole safe and de tangle the lies that have made up her life all the while trying to solve the mystery of murders that are occurring.

It’s a decent read but I felt like I was missing something

Cole grimaced internally. It was dicey wih the man able to read his mind. He resisted the urge to look at bri, but felt her presence. Her distinctive scent of jasmine and lavender was oddly comforting.

Jonah frowned and looked from Bri to him and back again before continuing.
