Lily Harmon is having a bad week . . . she’s spectacularly split with her boyfriend, seriously hitting him in the face in the process. That wouldn’t be quite so bad if he wasn’t also her boss. So now forget the wedding plans, time to start looking for another job - and soon, especially as he’s threatening to have her black listed so she’ll not be able to continue her career. On a brighter note, she’s meeting ‘the boy next door’, Derek Sawyer, for lunch. Now he’s the one she had the secret crush on all through her teens but he’s totally out of reach as a highly successful bad boy on the racing circuit. Their friendship has still lasted all these years and now he’s come up with a plan . . . he wants her to be his fake girlfriend to convince the daughter of an oil baron billionaire potential sponsor, Serena, who seems to assume she’ll get him as part of the deal! However, the that lady isn’t easily sidetracked and when news of their engagement reaches their parents they’re all ecstatic so the weekend engagement is lasting longer and getting more real every day . . . .

This is a classic scenario, the fake engagement, but it is given another twist by the couple having grown up together and knowing each other so well. The reactions of parents, friends and neighbours was superb at adding to the pressure by as the two main characters initially endeavoured not to give into their feelings for each other - but when they do, expect fireworks! There are plenty of sparks around and the secondary characters like Shana (Derek’s sister and Lily’s best friend) and Serena just add fuel to the fire!

This is a great read from start to finish and I thoroughly enjoyed reading how the two are so focussed on not taking advantage of the situations but love just has to find a way. It is a sweet yet hot romance that is brilliant to escape into. I look forward to reading more by this author in future.

Many thanks to the publishers for gifting me a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review.

'A Limited Engagement' by Bethany Michaels is book One in the "Limitless Love" series. This is the story of Derek and Lilly. Lilly has been friends with Derek and his sister since she was little. Derek's sister is actually her best friend. Lilly has always had a crush on Derek but she always thought he only saw her as a friend. Now though she has lost her job and the man she though she would marry. So Lilly is feeling down and decided to return home. Derek wants Lilly to pretend they are engaged so that he can possible score a deal. But their pretend engagement starts to have issues when they are finding it hard to pretend. This was a really sweet romance that I enjoyed watching it play out.

Remember, it's just pretend!

This is one of my all-time favorite scenarios: The fake engagement. What makes this story different from the rest is the added dynamic of Lilly and Derek knowing each other since childhood. In my opinion, this familiarity afforded them some liberties, given their in-depth knowledge of each other, that other couples simply couldn't take.

I enjoyed this story because Bethany kept the characters pretty realistic. Of course, there's an element of undeniable temptation when a girl's childhood crush asks her to fake-marry him, but Lilly did an admirable job of keeping her eye on the prize and not letting her emotions get the better of her. For a while.

Likewise, Derek did his best to stick to the plan and stay focused on why they were in this crazy scenario in the first place and not focus on his feelings towards Lilly.

But holy smokes, when their restraint reached its limit, hotness erupted!

I met some interesting characters such as Lilly's best friend and Derek's little sister Shana (I'd LOVE to read her story!) and even the "villain" (although she really wasn't much of a villain) Serena (she might need a story too!)

All in all, I loved reading how their feelings changed towards each other and the revelations that came along with those new feelings. I would definitely read more books by Bethany!

“And then he was naked. Completely, gloriously naked.
“God,” she breathed.
“Amen,” he returned, his gaze roaming from her hair to her toes and back up again.

This was a funny fast read, about a racer millionaire and his childhood friend. The author did not really drag the story, although the break up make up cliché part existed, as expected, but the romance developed quiet fast but was not hasty in a way that it seemed forced.

“You love me,” he whispered.
“Ha,” she said, spitting back every ounce of pluck she could muster. “You wish.”
“I do,” he said, touching her face. “Because I have fallen completely in love with you, Lilly.”

I enjoyed about everything in this book, but I was disappointed because we did not see them much as a couple in front of others, it happened just twice or thrice, so I would have loved to see that more instead of so many sex scenes, because I felt like that missing part was messing with the whole point of fake-engagement.

Overall, fast paced, funny, passionate story about a millionaire and, yes I forgot to say, confident female character, who did not shy away and actually demanded what she wanted, that was an interesting touch to witness.

Desperate times require desperate measures, and that pretty much is where Derick and Lilly are right now for different reasons. He’s almost landed the big sponsor that he really needs for his racing career to truly take off, she’s just been dumped by a no good jerk of a man who takes away her future and her job. The problem for Derick is that the spoiled, entitled daughter of the possible sponsor considers herself part of the deal – as in she gets Derick for her own, for as long as she wants. That’s not going to happen. While Lilly is revising her five yer plan, majorly, she receives a proposal from her best friend’s brother. Okay, maybe she always had those secret childhood dreams that Derick would see her as the love of his life and sweep her off her feet… yeah, that never happened. What has happened is a proposal from the man he’s grown into, a man with a need for a fake intended bride, for a limited time. She’s probably crazy but she says yes – and the lies begin. Neither thought that this fake relationship would turn into something worth fighting for, right up until they almost lost everything.

A Limited Engagement is a fun, charming and quick read that delivers a solid romance. Derick and Lilly have chemistry between them and their underlying growing romance is believable, even if it is a battleground in many ways. Lies never work out well, especially the ones you tell yourself. Derick eventually realizes just what Lilly means to him – beyond the sponsorship. Watching him discover that forever isn’t a trap to be avoided was enjoyable – I love when a strong, stubborn man finally “gets” it.

If you’re looking for an entertaining romance to get caught up in then A Limited Engagement might be exactly what you’re looking for. I always get an extra kick out of starting a new series, one where I don’t have to catch up later. And this looks like a fun series to follow.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This was my first journey into Bethany Michael's world, and boy did I have fun! A Limited Engagement is a fast paced, and yet to me, a heart pounding read that I devoured in one sitting. See Lilly Harmon has had a crush on Derek Sawyer since she was a young girl. Now that he's a famous racer on the circuit, she moved on, as she knows that she'll never be his type. When her life knocked her down, he asks her a favor, to be his pretend finance for a short time. But what they didn't count on was the flammable chemistry they have going, so now the fun begins when the line between what's read and pretend blur. I love, and yet, wanted to throat punch Derek more than once, but Lilly was my girl. And although we had a female that wanted him, she wasn't the normal "evil girl" which made it original. Bethany Michaels had a talented writing style that instantly captivated me. Her twists and turns came out of nowhere, which led me to drop some loud f-bombs more than once. The heat was turned up to fiery flames when the chemistry exploded everywhere for panty destroying sexy scene goodness. However, I still think that there were questions left at the ending. Even though I think I know, it wasn't quite clear, and yet didn't seem like a cliff hanger. Anyway, I hope to see more of Derek and Lilly in the future, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I loved this one!! I simply couldn't put it down. I've read several fake engagement type stories lately and this was truly one of the most entertaining. It's very well written and Derek and Lilly are two characters that just made me happy. Their chemistry felt real and I was cheering for them all the way through. Definitely one you don't want to miss.

Derek Sawyer is desperate to get his father out of his business. Both his actual business and his personal business. I needs to land a new sponsorship but the sponsor's daughter has been making a play for him for some time and he just can't take it anymore. That's were Lilly comes in. If he can convince her to pose as his fiance he won't have to worry about the other woman. Hopefully.

I am a big fan of the “crushing on my best friend’s brother” theme; add in the fact said brother is a sexy race car driver and I’m sold.

Derek’s career in racing started when he was young, and as he’d proven himself a winning driver, he rose up through the ranks. His father is very much involved in the business side of racing, but Derek is looking for ways to end that part of their relationship. He sees his chance when a new sponsor shows interest in investing in him. Signing on with Thomas Oil could make all the difference and Derek could finally cut all ties with his father for good.

Lily has just ended a relationship and lost her job, all at the same time. Sure, it probably wasn’t such a good idea to be dating her boss, but at the time, it didn’t seem to be an issue and she was still on track with her 5 year plan. Unfortunately, that plan is toast now, and she is back at square one, starting all over.

Lily and Derek grew up together in the little town of Penny Ridge, Georgia. Lily and Derek’s younger sister are best friends and Lily has crushed on Derek since she was a pre-teen. She’d always admired him from afar, knowing that he’d always only seen her as his sister’s best friend. When Derek learns that Lily is heading home, he offers her a ride on his private jet. But Derek has an ulterior motive to this meet. He needs Lily to agree to being his fiance so he can focus on the business side of his meeting with Thomas Oil. The owner’s daughter, Serena, has made it clear that she’s interested in Derek, but he doesn’t want the sponsorship under those circumstances. He wants it to be strictly business. So he hatches the fake fiance plan, and needs Lily to agree.

From the beginning, I was drawn into this story. Lily and Derek meet for lunch in the city before heading home. At lunch, Lily realizes that her ex is at the restaurant with a woman from the office. Lily and Derek pretend to be lovers and Derek is convinced that this plan of his can work. So he explains it all to Lily and she agrees. What else has she got going on after all? A weekend at a billionaire’s estate with Derek sounds fun. And in the end, maybe she can use some of Derek’s contacts to get back on her feet. They lay out some ground rules, buy a ring and are off.

I liked Lily-she ran with this little scheme and set out to have fun with it. It was a great way to shake off her recent failures and regroup. Spending time with Derek at a beautiful mansion, dressing up and relaxing was a great way to get over her breakup and come up with a new plan. But she was fooling herself that all of it was just pretend. She might have always just considered her feelings for Derek a “crush” but spending time with him like this, even under the ruse of an engagement, stirs up feelings that she really couldn’t ignore. She’s not a kid anymore and being this close to Derek, touching him, kissing him-it doesn’t feel fake at all.

I struggled a bit with Derek. We get the impression that Derek wants to cut ties with his father and we have to assume that it has to do with his childhood. The fact that his father left his mother and hurt her badly seems to be the main reason. Yet, in order to build his racing career, he included his father on the business side. Money is money when you’re trying to make your dream come true, I guess. Derek is also a self-proclaimed bachelor. He does not envision himself ever marrying or having children. This also, because of what happened with his father growing up. But chemistry is something that cannot be denied and the pretending quickly takes on a different feel.

And this is where things changed for me. Once they are home, and their family gets involved, they realize the scope of their plan and see how many people are really involved and who could potentially be hurt. But instead of coming clean, Derek convinces Lily that they should keep up the ruse until everything is secured. Initially, I was okay with this, until the only one who seemed to be sacrificing anything is Lily. Derek is here and there, racing and going about his business while Lily is home…waiting. Even after Derek realizes that he might actually have feelings for Lily, he sticks to the original plan. Lily is forced to take the tough love approach to guard her heart.

I liked Derek and Lily together. They definitely had chemistry and their relationship was believable. There is humor and witty banter and when they could just shut out everything else and just be with each other it all worked really well. But as it usually is with lies, people do get hurt-even when you’re trying to do everything right. Derek was hard headed and refused to believe in his own happiness-even when it was staring him straight in the face. And though he redeems himself in the end, the back and forth of it all weighs the story down a bit.

I did like this author’s voice, however. Her characters come to life on the page and there is a balanced mix of humor and emotion. The premise was interesting and we do get a good HEA, even though the hero took a while to get there. Secondary characters round out the story and I hope we get to see more of Serena and Shanna-both strong female characters who made an impression in this story.

This is absolutely nothing limited about this story!
While the scenario may not be completely unique, I mean, a long lusted after, super successful drop dead gorgeous childhood dream asking for a favour – the word Yes would have been tripping off my tongue in the blink of an eye or at least before I have a chance to talk myself out of it so when Lily is faced with this very scenario, I couldn’t help but cosy myself down and settle in for the afternoon, I had a feeling this was going to be a beauty!
Lily and Derek knew each other from childhood, he was friends with Lilly’s bestie’s brother, a little more complicated that you normally get but equally as elusive, all that brothers and sisters connection malarkey, I don’t get it but whatever. So, other than that obtuse connection keeping them apart, there was also the fact that he was older than her, not by much, after all 6 years isn’t exactly a lifetime but it was enough to keep a respectable distance but not enough to stop her dreaming!
So when she gets a call from Derek, inviting her to lunch, it is safe to say that her curiosity got the better of her and by the time he was ready to drop her home, it was most definitely piqued because it isn’t every day the guy you had the hots for as a teenager asks you join him on a trip and to pretend to be his fiancée
Derek is huge in his profession and like all professional sportsmen, sponsorship is key, so Lily is soon joining him on his trip to Dallas to meet up with and hopefully tie down a major sponsorship deal, while keeping the other interested parties at bay. Derek doesn’t need anything coming between him and his racing and that means relationships don’t exactly feature in his plans, so it is easier to deflect unwanted attention and the daughter of his biggest potential sponsor, by having Lily by his side for the weekend.
Lily understands the enormity of what is on the line for Derek, his whole future could change as a result of this trip, so with assurances that this is just for the weekend, she is ready to play along, and no man could possibly wish for a more devoted fiancée but can they keep the news contained…not a chance.
How on earth did they didn’t realise that the most eligible bachelor in racing suddenly rocking up with a fiancée in tow wasn’t going to be big news, I have no idea because their little trip to Texas is suddenly major news and what they had hoped would fly quietly under the radar has erupted into a media storm and as huge as that is, it pales in significance to the fact that their families are now party to this “relationship” and their impending nuptials…safe to say the plan was well and truly
scuppered. So rather than come clean, what do they do…yep you guessed it they make the educated decision to extend their little pretence a while longer…until a natural more befitting conclusion can be reached, little did they know that their limitations and patience were about to be tested to the limit and something was going to have to give?
Because as fun and flirty as it may have been initially, spending time together, more than a day or two soon makes one thing abundantly clear, there is definitely something between the two of them that isn’t willing to play by their silly rules, this isn’t make believe anymore and they just have to find a way to figure out where they go from here…things have begun to get very real, very quickly.
You will fall very quickly for the delight that is the connection between both Derek and Lily, their friendship is blatantly obvious, the banter and flirtation between the two of them was a mixture of sexy and snappy, they pushed each other in ways that only they could, in ways that their confidence and comfort around each other afforded them. They work together to work through not only their “engagement” predicament but also to help each other resolve some deep seated issues, that in many respects were holding them back. Derek was able to provide Lily with the emotional support that she needs, while she was slowly able to let Derek see that just because his family was torn apart when is father left, doesn’t mean that he is made of the same stuff. They might just make it, if he gives them a chance and with Lily he may just be willing to try, because being without her is a prospect that he isn’t ready to consider.
A super, quick and enjoyable read that had fun and flirty characters that were both entertaining and engaging.

Lilly was meeting Derek for lunch. Lilly had grown up next store to Derek and his younger sister was Lilly’s best friend- Shana. Derek had been Lilly’s teenage crush. Lilly and Derek hadn’t seen much of each other since getting older with the exception of holidays with their family’s. Derek invited Lily to ride home on his private jet after they had lunch. Lilly didn’t believe Derek was attracted to her but that didn’t stop her from reacting to him. Lilly missed the conversations they used to have. Derek had dreamed of being a big car racer and he was. Derek also made Lilly feel safe in her own skin. Lily had hit Richard her ex fiance in the nose for cheating and he told her she was being transferred and going alone and she lost her job as he was also her boss and that ended her career at Reynolds, Sherman and green. Lilly’s five year plan was also no longer obtainable. Derek’s family was rich before Derek began racing. Derek had issues with his dad because he felt his father had destroyed his family for his business. Lilly loved working in PR but Richard had had said he would let every company near and far know she was a basket case. Derek was having lunch with Lilly to propose she act as his pretend fiance. He needed lilly to help him then he could get rid of his father in his career and never have to speak to him again as he owned half of the racing team Derek was on. His father had helped Derek get started but Derek still resented him. He needed Lilly in order to get the Thomas Oil deal signed. The billionaire daughter Serena wanted Derek but for more than a fling and Derek only did flings. But if Derek rejected Serena that would mean he rejected her father.Serena was VIP of marketing for her father’s company. Lilly’s whole life Derek had argued with her, teased her, and annoyed her, bossed her around even but he had never complimented her that Lilly could remember but he was complimenting her now. Lilly agreed to be Derek's fake fiance for the weekend but then someone snapped a picture of Derek and Lilly coming out of the jewelry store and posted it online now everyone knew they were suppose to be engaged even their parents and hometown. Lilly and Derek decided to keep the engagement going for a couple more weeks.
I liked this story a lot. I learned something about car racing and all that goes into it so that was interesting. I liked how Derek’s dad was once “ he thought” Derek was engaged to Lilly but also when he let Derek know he wasn’t going to sell his share of the racing team. I loved How Derek and Lilly acted when they knew Richard was at the restaurant made me laugh. There was a lot of things I really liked about this story but for some reason it didn’t completely WOW me would give it a 4.5 if I could. I loved Derek and Lilly together and how Lilly was strong enough to walk away. I also loved how the book ended. I thought the plot was great. I also loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.

I received this book via the publisher in exhange for my honest review.

I must say that when I started this book and read that the leading male was a race car driver it immediately made me think of one of my favorite series and the cocky driver. I tried not to compare Derek and I believe that it worked.

When the book begins I just couldn't believe the despair that Lilly was going thru. What a tool her ex was to her. But this seems to be a common thread among lawyers that I have read. The girl takes the brunt of the tough times while in law school, eating ramen noodles and PB&J for years only be dropped like a hot potato once the money starts flowing. I really hope this is just a fantasy and not a reality.

When Derek comes back into her life, because of her BFF, he propositions her for a limited engagement. Not wanting to face her failures right away, she goes along for the ride, but will her secret crush since childhood leave her wanting more than a fake arrangement?

The chemistry between Derek and Lilly is amazing. I was rooting that this relationship turned into something more. I loved that Derek was afraid of Serena, and how that relationship turned out in the end. Lilly may not have been confident in her own life of despair but with Derek by her side she could conquer the world. Yet when you build a world on lies it's like a house of cards and comes tumbling down. Will they be able to realize what they have before the house falls or will be break each other in a way that was never thought possible?

I really enjoyed this book. This was a quick read for me, taking a hold and not wanting to let go until the last page and even then I wasn't happy that it was "THE END" Derek and Lilly will forever be in my heart. The journey of a super star and a normal person is sweet, but underneath it all Derek is just her BFF's brother, until he's more. I loved how Derek tried to protect her, his little gestures that showed that he cared. What was interesting was that he didn't realize what he was doing. The fact that he was falling for her never came to mind to him until it was obvious. The chemistry is undeniable. The pain is excruciating and brought tears to my eyes.

The characters are well developed, the scenery is beautiful, the drama, the angst, the passion all on point.

Derek  - Good Looking, successful, famous and  charming but not someone who does relationships. Derek is trying to buy his father out of his business, he cant forgive his father for what he done to their family even years later. Derek is about to sign for a sponsor that could help him remove his father but he needs a little help with removing the sponsors daughter who has made it quite clear that she wants him.

Lilly - Her life goals have just slipped away, Richard was not only her boss but her fiance and landing a punch and breaking his nose was probably not the best way to reach her 5 year life plan. she now has no career, no fiance and no idea what she is going to do.

Derek and Lilly have been neighbors since they were little, Lilly has always had a crush on Derek but she knew she was just his sisters friend and neighbor and she would never be anything else to him.

Derek has a proposal for Lilly, help him with a fake engagement, in the process scare away Serena the sponsors daughter and land him the sponger he needs to but his father out. With nothing else for Lilly to do after loosing what she had she agrees to be his fake fiance. What neither of them planned on was how this would benefit so many people and their family even thought they knew it would all be destroyed eventually.

An enjoyable  read, the story was well written with believable characters. It was easy to see how the future was going to plan out for Derek and Lilly although there are some hiccups along the way. I would of liked there to of been a little more of a fight from Lilly near the end however that is just my opinion.

ARC received for honest review for CJ’s Book Corner

What do you do when you need a fake fiance to land a huge sponsorship deal? You call on your sister’s best friend and childhood friend to make it happen. Who wouldn’t want to be the fake fiance of a hot racecar driver who you’ve had a crush on since you were a kid? That is the what Limited Engagement is about. Derek Sawyer is the hottest driver in the racing circuit. Eager to become his own boss, he is about to land a deal with a new sponsor but wants to avoid the advances of the sponsors daughter. So when Derek runs into a childhood friend Lilly Harmon, he has just the plan.
Lilly Harmon just lost her job, her boyfriend, and her credibility. When Derek, her longtime crush approaches her for a business deal, it may be just what she needs to do to get her five year plan back on track. How hard can it be to pretend to be the fiance of someone you have dreamed about proposing to you? A little harder than she expected. Especially when those longtime feelings are still in play.
This was a fun book to read. The relationship between Derek and Lilly felt natural. They banter back and forth and she protects him from the scary daughter of his new sponsor. I laughed through it and even though the ending was predictable, I was still excited to see them come together. Definitely going to read the next book in the series. Thank you Bethany Michaels for a fun story!

What happens when your childhood crush asks you to pretend to be his fianceé for the weekend? Well for Lily Harmon she didn't know if she would be able to handle it. Her fantasy coming to life, even for a weekend, just might push her over the edge. But she knows she can never say no to Derek Sawyer, Racing's Most Eligible Bachelor and the star of her fantasies since she was a teen.

Derek and Lily grew up together since he is her best friend's older brother but with him being 6 years older than her, she knew she never had a chance. So when Derek calls her out of the blue and asks her to lunch, then offers her a ride home - she was more than a little curious. Now she finds herself on a plane toward Dallas to play the soon to be Mrs. Sawyer, so Derek can try to win over a sponsorship without the Sponsor daughter throwing herself at him. Lily is a little confused as to why he would want to stay away from the gorgeous daughter of a billionaire but after he explains he's just not made for relationships... especially ones with daughter of the man who could help him buy into full ownership of his race team, she decides to play along. As long as it's only for the weekend.

Being famous has it's perks but also its own set of fall backs - one being that everyone now knows that Derek and Lily are engaged - including their families back in Georgia! What would it hurt to play along for a few more days... or weeks. The only problem is that sparks are flying between the two of them and it's hard to tell what's pretend and real anymore.

I loved Derek and Lily from the start. Their ease with each other is fun, flirty and sexy. Lily has her own set of problems she's trying to work through and having Derek there, someone she trusts immensely, she starts to let her guard down. Derek knows he's not made for a long term relationship. He saw how his father's leaving affected his family and no way does he want to put anyone else through that kind of heartache. But Lily... there's just something about her, that he doesn't want to let go.

This is a quick fun read and I'm a sucker for childhood friends to lovers troupes especially when it's the older brother :)

I can't wait for more from this series and hopefully book two will be about Derek's sister!

A Limited Engagement is a fast paced, and exciting read. Its premise is about fake engagements and what happens – well you have Lilly Harmon & Derek Sawyer. Lilly Harmon has had a crush on Derek Sawyer since she was a young girl. She moved on in life when Derek went moving on and moving up. Lily has just ended a bad relationship and then lost her job, all at the same time. Now she is back at the starting point, looking for a new job and starting over. When Derek learns that Lily is heading home, he offers her a ride on his private jet. But this isn’t a friendly offer of a ride home, he has ulterior motives.. He needs Lily to agree to be his fiancé so he can focus on business so that way certain people wont force themselves or their company views on him.
This story has many twists and turns to it. It is highly emotional and fast paced. I found myself drawn into Lily and Derek’s lives and their fake to real romance. Lily has always had true feelings, but watching Derek tumble for Lily and his feelings develop further and become more real was so beautiful. Also, this was a awesome story that involved car racing. Any story that has car racing and has a friends to lovers storyline is aces in my book.
My rating: 4.5 stars ****

ARC Review: A Limited Engagement (Limitless Love) by Bethany Michaels

What does a person do when faced with a problem that is awkward and dangerous to their career? Create an out that seems beneficial but ends up more complicated.

Enter Derek. The big bad race car driver has it all. A career he loves, his pick of the ladies and a huge sponsor in the wings. If only said sponsor didn't come with unwanted strings. Enter Lily. She's hit rock bottom. Her career is in shambles. Her love life even worse and now her childhood crush is asking for a favor. Her complicated world just became a lot more interesting.

A Limited Engagement had all kinds of wrong, looking the perfect type of right. I've come across a few in recent years, but Ms. Michaels is right up there with the great ones. Anytime an author can involve a reader's heart from beginning to end, the story, the author and the characters are WINNERS.

This is one of my favourite types of romance books. Derek and Lilly have been friends their whole lives. Derek needed Lilly to pretend to be his fake fiancé for a weekend to sign a big deal it worked after the weekend Lilly was heading back to their hometown as she was just fired from her job so she was going green home to find a new job. Well word got out about the fake engagement and it takes off so once they get home They continue with it as they spend more time together more feelings they start to have for one another. Derek gets scared and pushes Lilly away but in the end realized he has always loved her.

Book one in the Limitless Love series, A Limited Engagement uses one of my favorite storylines. Derek and Lilly have known one another for year because Lilly is Derek’s sister’s best friend! Of course, she has always had a huge crush on him since she was a young girl. Derek need help from Lilly to put off the oil baron’s daughter that is interested in him. He need the oil baron to sponsor him so what he can’t do us our right reject the persisted daughter, so he asks Lilly to pretend to be his fiancé. The only problem is a quick, quiet, and simple fake engagement gets messy when gets back to their parent who think it’s real. Derek isn’t ready to end their fake engagement because his parents are not only proud of their son, he also isn’t ready to end thing with Lilly. I love reading thing story because to read about a man falling for the girl he only saw is so fun. I would give this story 5 stars and definitely recommend it. It’s the perfect best friend’s brother/sister’s best friend HEA!

If you love fast cars, sexy characters and southern charm...don't miss this book. When childhood friends re-connect it will be a reunion full of secrets. If they can charm their family then they just might discover they can find love in the least likely place.

Charming little romance that was a super fast read for me. Didn't connect with the characters as much as I would have liked, but overall it was a fun story!

Two people trying not to fall in love while pretending to be is always a good story. Bethany brings an element of knowing. Lilly and Derek are best friends from the beginning.

What are best friends for, right? When Derek comes up with his brilliant plan of getting out from under his Father's thumb, he reaches out to his best friend to help him.

The fallout from Derek's plan gone a wry, is far more than either he or Lilly could imagine. The hurt their families endured caused an overwhelming amount of guilt for both, but most of all, Derek's guilt load was doubled as he also hurt his best friend.

Derek's next interview ends with confusion and chaos, but the fun is just beginning.

Seeing the relationship turning into more was exciting. With both characters retreating from their own hearts and letting the situation turn into a disaster. The reality of their bad decisions and the loss of their friendship will break your heart. When the most important advise comes from the most unexpected person, you will shout from the roof tops. Staying true to one's self is a path of uncertainties and that can cause fear to over ride anything else.

I really enjoyed this book. It was cute and I liked both main characters. The chemistry was fantastic between the two and they really did seem to be good friends before this which was great foundation to build upon as the story progresses. The bedroom (or outta bedroom scenes winkwink) were steamy and enjoyable. Overall a good read.

A Limited Engagement was a quick, fun, flirty read. Not your typical billionaire CEO/personal assistant storyline (don’t get me wrong, I love that kind of storyline), so I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about a playboy, rich, race car driver and his sister’s best friend, he’s known all his life, but now she’s his hot romance fake fiancée. But you know what? It played well for me.
Derek Sawyer is our hot, rich, playboy, race car driver trying to get out from underneath his father’s financial control. He’s got a plan, and that involves getting a fake fiancée for a limited amount of time. (Yup, that’s our title.) He asks his sister’s best friend, Lilly Harmon, who’s secretly had a super crush on him for as long as she can remember, to play the part. She agrees because as she sees it this might be her only chance to get close to her secret crush and have a little romance with him; and secretly, Derek’s probably had the hots for her since they were teenagers, but the timing to act on it never presented itself…….till now.
These two really play cat and mouse with their feelings as they move forward with their “engagement” and it’s only near the last third of the book they start to align in their feelings or at least start to voice them to one another. But they have some serious obstacles to overcome and some emotional baggage to deal with before they can finally be together. To tell the truth, who I really enjoyed reading about was Derek’s father. It was nice for a change to see a minor character who was responsible for some of the baggage to make a turnaround in his life and ultimately offer good advice to his son who was risking a lot for what he thought he wanted.
The chemistry between the characters is very sexy and sweet; the romance and sex is hot. Overall an enjoyable read and one I think you will find enjoyable as well.

I absolutely loved Derek and Lilly! This Book has everything I love in a contemporary romance, including a crazy fake fiancé scheme with tons of heart, a wonderful small-town community feel, and a filthy rich playboy bachelor. I loved that Derek is a race car driver- such a fun spin on an Indulgence hero! Readers will fall fast for this sweet romance. It's cute with just enough steamy romance to spice it up. Super fun.

3 Stars......A quick read with GREAT chemistry.

Friends, a fake engagement, humorous banter, with a little bit of drama tossed in. Derek and Lilly's cat and mouse games made this an enjoyable read.

So precious! Teenage crush ask you to fake marry them?! What could go wrong?! Oh about a million things! Ha! Derek was using Lilly to help score a sponsorship yet when it blew up in their faces, they kept the falseness going. Lilly has been in love with Derek a long time. It's so easy to see how this could be a huge mistake on her part. I was biting my nails through half way threw the book because you know someone is going to be heart broken, especially after the tumble in the sheets starts.
