I want my own Token to play with. That man was one sexy tension-building, dirty-talking package. Phew! Harley is on a downward spiral with no safety net to catch her when she gets retrieved by the mysterious Token on behalf of her uncle. Right away there's a spark, but she's pretty stubborn and attempts to resist. Pft.

The plot was executed very well. It was interesting to read as all the pieces fell together. There wasn't a time when the pace slowed down enough for me to get distracted. I like how this series spins off the Declan Brothers' series but it feels different. A bit stronger in substance. Will definitely continue reading.
As far as areas of opportunity are concerned, there was only one that clearly stood out to me: grammar. This definitely could do with another go at a strong editor. If it was sent to one, it might be time to look for a new one. While it's normally a peeve of mine, I found I still enjoyed myself.
Safety: No others for either. Neither are virgins. No rape. Yes to abuse.

I have already read "Breaking the Declan Brothers" series by Mrs. Gendron and i loved all three books very much!!! And now, came Kane brothers's turn and I'm so excited for this!!!
We've already seen Token as a guest in Zeke's book and I couldn't wait to find out his own story and the stories of his other four brothers!!!! And I'm sure that they will be a hell of rides!!!!
But enough with that, I have to focus on Token... and his Harley!!!!
Token was a retired boxer who had his own hard road to his life.... and who was working for a controversial guy... His latest assignment is to bring back in California a woman named Harley!!!
A woman who is making him feel strange from the first moment, even though that she is self destructive and in so much mental pain...
Every year around this time, Harley is trying to numb the pain with much alchool and reckless behavior.... The last thing he needs is a man to kidnap her and return her back to the place that she was running from... I really liked both Token and Harley....
Token was a strong, but very sweet man... He had so much understanding and he could do anything for the people he was caring for...
Harley had live a tragedy and she couldn't get over it!!! She was fighting any kind of connection with everyone, but Token was determined to change that and Harley was helpless in front of him...
Their relationship had good foundations and the connection between them was very powerful!!!
I really liked the first book of this series and i can't wait for the rest of the Kane brothers.... Each one of them is very intriguing character....
I also loved very much the parents...
Of course, i liked very much that we saw for once again Lurlene and Zeke!!!

This was an easy, fast paced read where I was entertained the entire time. I did not love it, but I liked it well enough. This was my first book by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect. The MCs were well liked and their chemistry was strong. While I liked it well enough, I don't think I'll pursue this series further.

Token is assigned the task of picking up and delivering Harley. She’s one tough cookie but she’s been hurt from the loss of her family and protects herself with her tough girl act. Token is calm and patient but determined to deliver her to her uncle. Keeping her purse, phone and car as hostage to ensure that outcome, Harley is forced to follow his lead.
This was a nice read with a fast pace. No real over the top behaviors and yet they both definitely start to fall from the very beginning. Although it has plenty of hot action and not a lot of angst, I felt it could have been fleshed out a little more to make an entertaining read into a great read. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it tremendously.
I will definitely be watching for the next book in this series to be released.

This was a nice read with a fast pace. No real over the top behaviors and yet they both definitely start to fall from the very beginning. Although it has plenty of hot action and not a lot of angst, I felt it could have been fleshed out a little more to make an entertaining read into a great read. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it tremendously.
I will definitely be watching for the next book in this series to be released.

Super cute and sexy read! Ex-boxer meets bosses niece and sparks fly.
Token is hired to bring Harley back to her uncle. Harley has lost everything important to her and every year around the same time that she lost her entire family. She lets loose and drowns her sorrows in lots of alcohol. She knows that Token wants her and she teases him since he thinks he can't have her.
Good read. A little bit of romance, some drama, and a small amount of steam. I am looking forward to Book 2 in this series.

This is the story of Harley and Token.
I really liked this story! There was tension, secrets, pain, lust, love and maybe a bit of darkness. Ms. Gendron writes beautifully. There was not one boring moment in this book! The plot moves nicely and there were a couple of twists as well. The story is said by a dual POV and it’s good!
Harley is in a dark place in her heart. She is self-destructive and careless. On the other hand, she has a wall around her heart as she tries to avoid feelings. I liked her! I liked her reactions, her sassy ways, even her ugliness. Everything made sense to me.
Token is not the knight in shining armor, but he has a knight’s heart, pure and strong! I really liked him! He is straight-forward and he doesn’t get intimidated by anything or anyone. Token is the kind of guy that when you have on your side, you are safe!
Their interactions were fantastic! They didn’t fall for each other on the first glimpse and I loved them for this. There was tension, discussions, teasing, passion and amazing chemistry! I couldn’t have enough of Harley and Token together.
The end of the book was great! There was also an epilogue that made me looking forward for the story of the next brother of the series! I need to mention that I really liked the rest of Token’s family ! All of them are amazing in their ways and I especially loved their family parties.
I definitely recommend this book to everyone who likes to read an intense love story.

Token is the first book I've read by Kelly Gendron. It's the first book in the Daring the Kane Brothers series and I can't wait for them all. There are 5 gorgeous and diverse brothers and one little sister. The series has promise.
Token Kane is a retired boxer. He's big, loyal, humorous, sexy and totally alpha. He's been hired by a personal friend to bring Harley Redbourne back home. Harley is a lost soul. Her family died a decade earlier and she's not only lonely but on a destructive path.
Gendron takes us through the disastrous coping mechanisms on the journey to healing. She also reveals Token's backstory and weaves his secrets amongst Harley's.
It's well written and well developed, providing an entertaining, yet heartfelt story.
Gendron also sets the stage for the continuation of the series by introducing each brother in their own unique way. I love the bantering, loyalty, humor and bonding demonstrated between them all.
The ending was a little abrupt, moving immediately into the opening for the next book, which highlights Steele. I would have liked to have seen a little more from Token and Harley as a couple, so I'm expecting more development as the series progresses.
All in all, I enjoy Gendron's writing style and it was a great start to a new series.

Token Kane has been given an assignment to bring Harley Redbourne back to Bronx, the man who is paying him. He doesn't know how he knows Harley, only that he wants her back. When he finds Harley though she is a hot mess and trying to keep her in his truck and heading home is harder than it seems.
Harley knows she is not in a good place, she doesn't want to be around Bronx it reminds her of her past. Token though is a nice diversion but like everything in her life it will end, or will it?
There are a lot of layers to this story, Harley has an intriguing past and it bit by bit gets revealed. Token, is pure alpha male and has a back story that haunts him as well. Great read, looks to be a fantastic new series.

Kick butt book! wow what a read. I loved it.
Others will say it dragged and there wasn't much action, but it isn't a book about that at all. It is about forgiving and dealing with the tragedies life gives you by swimming to the surface and not drowning.
Token.. wow what a character in this book. I liked him a great deal and he just seemed to possess the ability to see things in other and really know them just by watching. He seemed to know what Harley needed at every turn and I liked that about him. He never really pushed his position with her and he just threw it out there for her to take the lead and decide. A great deal of the time the hero just has sex and lets the cards fall where they fall. Token works the right way: you figure out your crap and when you do we will have it all together, but it's not happening till then. He was sexy as hell. Don't get me wrong he had demons too and they played out just as much as Harley's.
Harley well I got ticked off at her, but I don't know if I was in her position how I would have handled things. Token was right about her all along and I am glad he helped her and she in return helped him.
Now what I didn't like about the book is the way it ended. It ended without a ending but it isn't defined on what the non ending was going to be about. Cheap way to get you hooked... but it worked!!
The Kane family was full of interesting characters and I am so on board with all of them. This series has the potential of being epic!! I can't wait for the next!!!!

Kelly Gendron isn't new to me in the indie world for this very reason... this chick can write her ass off and give me an addicting and delicious story that I just can't and won't shake.... plus her alphas *swoon*!
I fell hard and fast for the Declan boys (this new one is a spin off from that). That series is and has everything I love when it comes to contemporary romance but this new series, Dating the Kane Brothers, is definitely in its track to surpass that by miles.
Token is the first standalone book in this series and not one that can be missed. Packed with heart, heat, laughter, great banter, and passion, Gendron takes her readers on an unforgettable journey that will have your heart beating a little faster and leave you squirming in your seat.
Token and Harley... their journey was brilliant, beautiful, flawed, real, and intense. Not too heavy... not too light... just the right mix of angst and romance to hook it's claws in you from the start. I devoured their story and was so smitten by the time it was over.
If you like undeniable chemistry and a unique storyline that isn't quite cookie cutter (in the best ways possible) then nab up this yummy novel today!

5 incredibly hot stars!! I can't wait for the next book!!
This book is the first of the "Daring the Kane Brothers" series. I believe it can be read as a stand alone BUT why?!?! I am on the edge of my chair over here. I NEED the next book now and the sad part is, this book hasn't even been released yet!!!
So this story takes two damaged souls and brings them together. Token is incredibly hot and bad ass!! He is like my newest love. Don't let me forget he has a heart the size of Texas!! God I love this man!! I loved his cocky take no shit self at the beginning and then he morphed into a cocky, alpha, in love man! Ok, ok enough about Token. Harley she is a bit on the more damaged side. She is jaded now and damn was Token the right man for her!! Bronx well I love him as well!
One thing I really enjoyed about the book is all the past talk of their families and mistakes. It made for like a bunch of side stories I really enjoyed. Another thing I love about this book is how everything ends up connecting, whether by a chance meeting or being in the right place at the right time. The author did an extremely good job on character development and this book is written like, the great piece of naughty work, it is suppose to be. The emotions were all over in this book. I was happy, sad, heart broken, angry and so very in love!! Oh and it was pretty damn hot. I love the feel of soft beards ;) !!
I can't wait to read more on these guys!! MUST READ!!

This is a spinoff from the Declan brothers which was another good series by this author.The story may be a quick read but the author buts alot of emotion in the story. It could have been a depressing tale, but the author knew how to level things out. There is some humor lift it up. to we get the pleasure of meeting Token again. He and Harley meet under strange circumstances. He was hired to find her and bring her to California. When they meet sparks fly but he knows he has to wait for Harley. she is going through a rough patch and her thinking and behavior are dangerous. But by waiting, he knows he will get more than just a night with her. Harley has been running and living dangerously for the past 10 years. Things come to a head when she meets Token. They must battle through personal demons to get to their hea. I loved Token, he is a great hero. He is strong, protective and knows what he wants. harley really does not stand a chance. She gave a good fight. I am really looking forward to the next brother. they all have stories that need to be told.

Harley lets her good girl self go one week every year. The week of the anniversary when she lost everything. This time, though, her uncle Bronx sends Token to retrieve her, and she falls hard for the man. But, there's an invisible tether of connection between the two that neither knows exists. When it's revealed, will Token have a chance of keeping the woman he's in love with? Or will Harley no longer be able to stand the sight of him, of what he represents?
Token was a sweet, sexy story. I loved Token and even better, Harley and he together. I'm looking forward to more from this author.

Kelly Gendron’s new series featuring the Kane brothers is off to an explosive start. This dynamic and foul-mouthed family of five brothers and one sister are a unique collection of quirkiness. Their family gatherings included fisticuffs, witty banter, and humorous bickering. I adored Token and find it difficult to believe any of his brothers could best him. Token was a thoughtful, insightful, and tenderhearted alpha whose boss had sent him on an errand to find and escort the troublesome Harley to her uncle. Harley was a hot mess and in the midst of a downward spiral of destructive, self-indulgence, and irresponsible behavior. Their immediate attraction was highly carnal but their karma wasn’t new as this wasn’t the first time their families had crossed paths.
The plot was clever and the storyline was full of feels and well paced while alternating between angst, erotic sensuality, and thoughtful insights. The Kane characters were enticing and intriguing, and I found Harley more likable during the last half of the book as she had initially presented as obnoxious and annoying. I am already curious about the rest of the clan.
I want that feeling again. Like when I was ten years old at the circus, all the excitement and fear, the high wire act, the fire, and the lions. Forced to sit in my seat, keeping all the excitement bottled up inside as I watched the performance when all I really wanted was to be a part of it. I wanted to experience it firsthand. That’s how I feel right now.
I won’t settle for that, and you know it. To get me you’ll have to trust me, open-up and show me your ugly. You’ll have to let me in, babe. Let me see what hurts.

This is a moving story which travels in unexpected directions and has a very satisfying outcome. It mixes a number of sub-genres for me, and does so very successfully.
I was kept quite securely on the edge of my seat for quite a significant part of the story, as Harley really has no fear - and I seemed to take it on for her! And as we learn why, it starts to make sense, but still is very powerful. I love how the whole story unfolds in a very organic and unforced way. There is a puppet master, but he is supremely in control of himself ... until even he shows a crack.
Very enjoyable read, and I am really looking forward to understanding the drama which is hinted at right at the end .... I do hope Ms Gendron is busy creating the next story!

I felt this was a wonderfully written, beautiful & touching love story. The author (IMO) did a stellar job in building up the background & detail of the main characters Token (H) & Harley (h).
Token Kane is late twenties, strong, tall & handsome & retired from a brief boxing career for unknown reasons. He's part of a large but intensely loving family that includes 4 other brothers & a sister, who all joke with, tease, bicker & fight with each other. He's tough but not mean, determined but not cruel & not afraid of honest hard work. Since he ended his boxing career, he works for the man who owns the gym he trained at & who mentored him frim his late teens: Bronx. Bronx's business dealings may or may not be completely legit but all Token sees is legit transactions. Because of Token's physical prowess & strong but calm personality, Bronx frequently pays Token to 'fetch' things for him.
Harley is almost completely broken, traumatized by heartbreaking loss that carved such a deep black hole inside her that she can never seem to fill it no matter how drunk she gets or with whom she stumbles into bed. And every time she comes back to her senses the pain & loss are still there. Floundering, drowning Harley is staggering through life in a constant search for ways to dull or eliminate the fear her pain & loss cause.
This time Bronx needs Token to bring him a woman named Harley.
And then Token finds her & despite her pleas, that's exactly what he does, although it isn't easy. And then he finds out just WHO Harley is & why Bronx wants her. . . .
The author switches POV with each chapter between Token & Harley so the reader has a good grasp of the internal angst, emotions & fears of each of them as well as how their damaged hearts & souls just may be healed by the other.
Normally I do not care for angst ridden stories, but while this story did have angst~~ particularly Harley, with what she lost it was completely understandable & to be expected & therefore didn't bother me at all. And Token was such a rare & wonderful Hero (again IMO), how he told Harley SHE had to save herself, he couldn't do it for her BUT he COULD be her rock, her light, be there for her through thick & thin, to stand with her in her struggles & hold her when she was tired.
Token was calm to her storm, solid to her shifting, healing to her damage.
I was rooting for Token & Harley through the book, I WANTED them to find a HEA together after everything they suffered.
And the cast of secondary characters were stellar too: Token's brothers, his parents & Bronx.
I highly recommend this book to readers who want a romance with a lot of substantive plot & very well detailed & likable characters.

After reading the Declan Brothers series, I thought that I couldn't fall in love with Kelly Gendron's heroes anymore than I already had. Boy was I wrong! I tumbled head over heels for each one of the Kane brothers and cannot wait to find out more about each one with every book in their series! It wasn't long and I was caught in Token and Harley's cross hairs and ready to see their emotional and desire filled tug of war play out. Little did I know how much they would rock each other's world and end up intertwined in ways we would have never guessed.
I loved getting a front row seat into the entertainment and love that the Kane family provide in Token. I fell in love with each one of them and their hot headed passion and unique personalities. Especially Token and his beastly looks, sexy moves, and gentle heart. Never have I met a hero that was an ex fighter be so in tuned with his feelings but yet still be so rugged and manly that all I wanted him to do is pin Harley against the wall one more time and have his way with her. This Kane brother had me wrapped up in his mysterious past and more than ready to see him pursue a future with Harley. Token is impossible to resist and every word out of his sexy mouth had me melting!

I have loved each and every one of Kelly Gendron’s books and this one is no exception. I did love seeing Zeke pop up in this book too.
For me it was Token that stole the book. HIm and his family are awesome. So close and loving. Token is a guy that has been through alot. He has some demons but he deals with them. At first I didn’t get how the prologue belonged in the story but towards the end I put the pieces together and you feel for Token. Token is a great guy. He is kind, fun, caring and honest. He has a dream and is doing what he can to get there. Picking up Harley helps him get closer to his dream. And when it comes to Harley he is understanding and perceptive. It is like two broken souls connect and help each other heal. He deals with his guilt and demons of the past differently than Harley does. For him he confronted and went on. With Harley she allows herself to drown in liquor and than regrets it. Only now she isn’t coming out of the darkness. She continues to be haunted. Token is the one he draws her out and has her see that there is life. He is her anchor and support.
Harley is stubborn and lost. She wants love in her life but doesn’t think anyone would care. she is mired in the past of her families deaths and can’t come out. Overall she is a good person. When she meets Token we get some really entertaining times. These two the sexual tension crackles and the stubbornness does as well. he strikes close to home and his kindness and astuteness irritates her. For him the fact he cares but is loyal to her uncle is irritating him. Until he finds out differently and than all bets are off. And we get some sexy times. But more importantly we get them helping each other heal.
Their story is sad, beautiful and sweet. Token will have you fall in love with his big heart and caring soul from the beginning. Watching them fall in love and help each other tugs at the heartstrings. You fall in love with them and Token’s family. The ending has me needing the next book. I have the creepy crawlies wondering what happened and knowing Token is going to need Harley now more than ever. A wonderful love story about healing and finding the one that completes you.

Sparks fly between Token and Harley from their very first meeting. Harley is drinking to forgot. 10 years ago her family died and every year on the anniversary she gets sloshed. Token is sent by his boss to collect Harley and bring her home to California.
I loved Token. He is tough, sexy, smart and very patient. He wants Harley but he sees that she is in pain and is not ready to let someone in. And Token is right. When we see Harley's point of view it is clear that she is hiding from the pain and from people and needs someone she can trust to love her. Token shares himself and his family with Harley to try to break down her walls.
There are a lot of things I loved about this story. Harley and Token's great chemistry which makes for plenty of heat; Token's brothers and family who are fun and a loving bunch; Token's strength and bravery to face the difficulties in his life were some of my highlight. I confess did struggle with Token calling Harley lass. Nothing wrong with the term lass but every time Token said it I could picture Billy Connolly in my head and hear his Scottish voice which was particularly off putting during the sexy scenes.
This is the first book in the Daring the Kane Brothers series and I was pulled in right from the start and when we got to the end, I wanted more. The next brother to get a book is Steele. Bring it on.

This is Token and Harley's story and it is electric. Token is sent after Harley to bring her back for his boss. But he thinks she is one of his women, but she is too young. Harley doesn't correct Token. She fights him at every turn and doesn't want to go back home.
When they meet, the sparks are explosive but Token will not act on them because he knows that Harley doesn't trust anyone and he doesn't want to let her use him to make the guilt she feels go away for a little while.
Can Harley learn to trust Token and move past the guilt of her past? Can Token help her learn to trust again?

I have never read a book by the author and I will say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book. My heart broke for Harley. She is on a downward spiral due to the loss she has experienced in life. Then you have Token who is this major alpha male who is dealing with his own issues. The two meet in an unconventional way but there is no denying the chemistry between them. I thought the storyline worked well and all the pieces of the story fell where they needed to. I loved how Token was an advocate for Harley and was invested of her finding her way in life. I loved how the two shared pieces of them on their own terms. I loved seeing the other Kane brothers in the story and excited to read their stories. This was an easy fun read for me.

I am really enjoying this series. This is the second book I've read in this series (yeah, I started at the end) and I'm really loving this family. Token was tough and fierce and even a little funny. So sexy and sweet. Harley was so beautifully broken. My heart hurt for Harley and Bronx most of all, and all they lost. I'm really looking forward to getting to know this family a little better. Both books I've read so far have had pretty unique stories. Can't wait to see what the author does with the rest of the family.

Oh this is a start to another great brother series by Kelly Gendron. There is a great family dymanic in the Kane family, this creating a fine range of interesting secondary characters I can't wait to get to know better.
When Token sets out on this job to bring Harley back, he gets more than he bargained for. Finding a broken Harley and waking his need to help her. But first he needs to find strength to get her back to Cali. Will he be successful?
Harley has played this game a time or 10. what better way to forget than to get drunk and make the mind stop. Feeling so completely alone and lost, she has finally hit rock bottom. As pissed as she is at her Uncle she feels safe with Token. Safe is something she hasn't felt in a long time.

Now at 25, on the anniversary of their deaths, Harley copes by taking off for a week of risky, self-destructive behavior each year.
Only this year her uncle sends someone to retrieve her before she can get into too much trouble.
Token is that retriever. He seems to figure he knows all about pain and Harley should be living through hers instead of trying to escape it.
This just hit me wrong in many ways. Not just Token's attitude about her pain, but that Harley's mother didn't even make an attempt to live for her minor daughter. I know shit like this happens but this would take some major counseling to deal with, I think.

Another great start to a series by Kelly Gendron. A great story, I loved the characters and a fabulous read. Recommended
