Catulle Mendès, a key member of the 19th century French Decadent literary movement, wrote novels, poems, tales, plays and essays. He also write many charming fables. I just loved this collection of French tales -- it's one of those "sorry, I'm out of the real world right now so please leave a message" kind of books that I look forward to finding and only ever so often do.
There are 27 short but powerful stories to be found in this collection, and while there is no way to quickly go through each one, I probably wouldn't anyway since the joy is in the reading and I wouldn't want to mess that up for anyone possibly considering this book. There is also great ...more
