Perceiving Purpose

Dognosticism™!
A Way of Making Sense of the World, By Making Sense of Ourselves. There are two types of guide one that helps us see when we can't, and another that helps us see ourselves when we lose our way. After studying the great Philosophers and Theologians for more than thirty years, I finally turned to my Basset Hound for answers to life's biggest questions. This book gives you some insights from what I learned from my dog Cody, and how I found my purpose.

Great ideas in this book, but yikes—-missing words and typos throughout.

Who edited this book???
Nobody, apparently. It is terribly edited which was incredibly distracting. One page had 5 mistakes ranging from words being doubled, to words being omitted. Editing aside, the first 1/3 of the book just goes in circles. It reminded of a student writing a paper in school, and just trying to make the same points repeatedly but in different ways to increase the word count. The whole book could have been boiled down to three or four sentences. Definitely not worthy of an entire book even if it was quite short. Trying to tie his ideas to how a dog lives really didn't quite make sense, as much as he tried. There were a few useful workbook activities at the end. Like I said, a few good ideas worth contemplating, but I don't know why it was made into an entire book. I hope he hired an editor for his other books. I have liked many of the statements I have heard him make over the years, but I will never read another one of his books again.

Guide to self discovery

I liked the workbook. I liked the way he wrote about self discovery. Really well written. I love dogs but not sure that I see them as able to guide my philosophy on life.

Interesting

Good book to cause you to ponder oneself. All from using dogs as our guide to finding purpose. I enjoy Danish writing.
