Simply Superb. This was such an easy and enjoyable book to read, and so well written. Mick Bose has certainly caught my attention with this very worthy Action Thriller. Dan Roy is a great character that has the skills and background from a Special Forces background, and he’s certainly a character that I would like to read more of in the future. Dan Roy managed to get away from Intercept, the CIA and his previous life in the Delta Forces. As far as he was concerned he was officially retired from ...more

This is the first book in the series.

The story of a war-weary black ops soldier who leaves that life behind in an effort to repair his soul. Unfortunately, the world is a dangerous place with plenty of people who'd love nothing better than to watch the world burn.

Mr. Bose created a character in Dan Roy who has spent his entire adult life in combat, first with the army, then later as part of the top secret black ops group named Intercept. That life demanded a total commitment that has taken a

What I liked most about Hidden Agenda was that the story got straight into the action without much time reflecting on what had gone before. Dan Roy is a special operations soldier who works for an elite secretive organisation that brings justice to the bad guys wherever they threaten the lives of good people across the globe. Sounds familiar? And if it does that is exactly what Mike Bose went for, because I see his books appeal to readers, like me, who thoroughly enjoy all the tropes of the ...more

Move over all other action heroes .. DAN'S THE MAN!!

Dan Roy is one of those men who do the dirty work for their government, going into the most dangerous situations in the world whilst knowing that if it all goes wrong, his very existence will be denied. Something is not quite right with the current mission and suspicion falls on Dan. Who, what, why? That's the million dollar question and only one person can get to the truth.

This is a very exciting read. Every time a piece of the puzzle is

Plenty of action, especially at the end. Could have used a little more background on the main character Dan Roy. While he is really good at what he does, he is not portrayed as a Superman. He did get beat up, shot at, and had to fight his way out of jams. I would have liked to have read a little more detail on how Dan Roy got to be so good. Show me some tradecraft that only an elite operator like Dan would use. Give me some details and not just generic action. What makes Dan so good that he got ...more

Just ok

I did not appreciate a novella at the beginning of the book. The novel was just ok. I would not recommend.

“Hidden Agenda” is a fast-paced, action-packed thriller that begins with intel about a planned jihadist attack on a major European city, photos of a cache of missiles and a dead CIA agent in London, and Dan Roy’s mission to Afghanistan to either capture or kill a senior Al-Qaeda fighter protected in a Taliban compound that he’s to destroy. Dan’s problems begin when the Person of Interest (POI) is missing, and he uncovers an arsenal of weapons in the cellar only to have his pictures/camera ...more

Recommends it for: Lovers of thrillers, Lee Child and Robert Ludlum

Hidden Agenda is a man’s book. It is a combustible, adrenaline-fuelled mix of blood, gore, violence and excitement. It takes off with a rush from the opening lines and races to an explosive and nerve-tingling climax at the US Embassy in London. I couldn’t put it down.

From the outset the writing is taut, crisp, and tense, with loads of geographical and technical accuracy to add authenticity to an already enthralling story. It leaves little room for reflection or cerebral dawdling. Bose set out to

This is a fast-paced, well-thought-out, solid story. The execution is what caused me to drop from 5 stars to 4. I DO wish Goodreads had 1/2 stars (!!!!) because I truly believe this warrants 4 1/2 stars ~

The characters are fairly well drawn ~ likable. A flawed main character always reads well ~ we root for them! ~ provided that character ~ in this case, Dan Roy ~ is not only likable, but also reads capable; capable of maintaining the action. Dan Roy is and does: he reads both likable and

An MB. Mystery Thriller (TDRSB. - 1)/International Terrorism/Traitor/A Frame-Up/A Great Ending

MB. has. penned the first novel in the Dan Roy series. DR. Accepts a mission against his wishes because he has been asked by a previous mentor. During the mission DR. Is framed for conspiracy and has to go on the run and operate outside the law. The problems are not insurmountable, but difficult because he is being watched and tracked. I managed 8 chapters but there were a few reasons why I couldn't read on: the writing style is horrible, everything is a short sentence so it didn't fit together properly. I feel like the author was on speed while writing as yes there's a lot of action but there's limited or confusing information on the locations/action so it doesn't flow well. The amount of acronyms is head spinning, i lost track of them after about the 11th one, it's great that the author has this military knowledge but ...more

good tight thriller with political conspiracies run amok. The main character, Dan Roy is a special forces super operative working for a shadow government agency that does not officially exist carrying out secret operations that are unofficial. He uncovers a massive conspiracy at the highest levels of the government and manages to destroy it. This theme, of course, has been played out in countless books, and movies, but this one is a fresh look at it. The action sequences are brisk, the dialogue ...more

Errors and fights

The landing and take off area on an aircraft carrier is a Flight Deck not an airfield, also, there is no ground on a ship, it's a deck. An area where a helicopter lands while on mission is an LZ (landing zone) not a helicopter landing area. I guess this seems kind of Petty but correct terminology lends credibility to the narrative.
It was was a decent read with good fight scenes.

A chilling story of greed, terrorism and betrayal. Dan Roy finds that his retirement is not an option as he is drawn back into another operation. The writing is crisp and keeps the suspense up while providing all the necessary information. Dan has to use all his capabilities to survive, and eventually uncover the traitor in his organization. The story is thrilling right up to the end, and probably worth another read, even if you know the ending.

Dan wonders why he left Delta for this job with.Intercept.A secret group no one knew about, nor could you say if caught. When he gets out, retired, when his former handler and boss contacts him. A global conspiracy is about to happen. Good clear plot that unfolds, of what is taking place, full of action. The character of Dan you like, a no nonsense type of guy. Definitely a good international thriller to read.

Holiday read 2018

Nice book to read, particularly when it’s mainly set in London. However that’s where it sometimes fails for me. The author using ‘zip codes’ instead of uk ‘postcodes’ and the London area descriptions are definitely written by somebody from another country.
Small points but a overall good read.

In the style of Robert Parker in his Spencer series.

The style is fast moving, riveting and yet has a deep under current of softness which makes Dan seem more human than most other heavily muscled jar head types of hero, which makes him more believable and real. A thoughtful considerate man, just doing the best he can.

Nonstop Action!

Dan Roy is a one man machine every ops needs but can’t talk about. It’s a dangerous and lonely life. Bose takes us on thrilling adventures of Roy’s assignments covering Afghanistan and throughout London. He has excellent character development. If you like nonstop action, twists and turns, CIA type of thrillers, this is the book for you! I highly recommend it!

You really get behind and want him to succeed. On a black ops mission in Afghanistan chasing terrorists, I was gripped from the start to the finish.
If you like fast paced action books with a character you can believe in you should definitely give this author a go.

Quick paced and thrilling

Really fun, fast paced book. Dan Roy takes quite a beating in this book and still manages to come out on top.

This was well plotted, well written and fun to read. When a story moves at this pace, it's easy to slip into stereotypes and this story avoids it.

I'll definitely read the next one

The deaths are sad but the relationships are heart warming. Dan is a fantastic character. I love how well written this series is and how full bodied and charismatic the characters are. I did think I knew the guilty or evil person a bit before we were told, but I think the way it played out was fun!

The Dan Roy books are a fun, entertaining read. For some reason I am in a stream of action novels that are a lot like pub grub. Not necessarily healthy eating fare if you live on it, but damn fun to eat! So no awards named after people I’ve never heard of for this book (these books) but damn fun to read! Try it on a pub, with some food and drink!

Dan Roy is finished with the secret organisation Intercept and just wants a normal life!! However, his ex CO comes calling and Dan is dragged back in to the world of secrets and lies. This is a good start to a new series, perhaps a bit too indestructible, Dan makes a good leading character and it will be interesting to see how he develops.

I am so glad to meet Dan Roy what a terrific man he is. Loves his county, and will go beyond his responsibility to prove his commitment and dedication. A honest man and true soldier. Will continue following this talented author.

The fence was low there and he vaulted across it to the low ground that led to the pebble beach. He cut straight across, heading to the port, walking quickly across the shrub and grassland. A line of low trees near the port fence gave him cover. He studied the wire fence. It was about ten feet tall, with regularly spaced posts, and he couldn’t see any signs of electricity.
