بقصيدة عنوانها (المجهول) يفتتح باسل عبدالله ديوانه هذا، وبـ (الهواء النقي) يختتمه وبين القصيدتين الأولى والأخيرة قصائد تتحرك في مساحات واسعة من الروح الإنسانية ومشاغلها، وهواجسها، وما يعتصرها في عالم اليوم.

هي قصائد تحمل بين ضلوعها عذابات الإنسان وتشظيه وبحثه عن عالم خالص من الشوائب، وهي قصائد ألقى فيها مؤلفها روحه العذبة ومغازلته المجهول وهو يطرح عليه أسئلته "... بلغة إيمائية/ تخترق مسرح/ انشغالاتي اليومية/ (...)/ سأطاردُ المجهول/ بفطرتي وإدراكي/ وخلف الصدى والنور/ سيتلمّسه فؤادي (...)" بهذا الحضور يذهب الشاعر بالقصيدة العربية إلى ينابيع كثيرة يبحث عبر سطورها عن هدف، عن وطن، عن مستقبل، عن حلم ليستيقظ من عالم الأحلام "... أستيقظ من عالم الذكريات/ من عالم سيرته الأسرار/ لا مكان فيه للأمنيات/ والسيادة فيه للأقدار (...)".

يضم الديوان (18) قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث نذكر من عناوينها: "المجهول"، "على هامش الحياة"، "وحده"، "لمن أصلي؟!"، "هروب"، "نداء"، "الأيام"، "دقائق بل ثوان"، "مُتوارٍ عن الأنظار"، "هو الفناء"، "حدي"، "العمر"، "وطن على كف عفريت"... إلخ.

With a poem in title ( the unknown) Bassel Abdallah introduces his book and with ( fresh air) he concludes it, and between the first and the last poem, there is poems which moves among a vast space of human soul and its preoccupations ,obsessions, and what it goes through in today's world.
Its a poems which holds within it , the tortures of the human being and his scattering and searching for a special flawless world, in those poems the publisher has thrown his kind soul as he flirts with the unknown and asks it his questions in a mimic language which penetrates my daily preoccupations \ (...)\ I will chase the unknown \ with my instinct and perception \ and behind the echo and light\ my heart will feel it (...) " with this presence the poet goes with the Arabic poem to many springs looking through its lines for an aim, a home, a future, a dream to wake up from the the world of dreams "... I wake up from the world of memories \ from a world with a course of secrets\ there is no place in it for wishes and the dominance is for destiny (...)"
The book has 18 poems in modern Arabic poetry, to mention some titles of these poems: the unknown, on the margin of life, loneliness, to whom I pray, runaway, appeal ( call), the days, seconds rather than minutes, hidden, its perish, close to me, life( life time) , home on the hand of a genie, .....etc
This book is the third by Bassel Abdallah, after publishing the novel of Rakan speech about time and its people, and poetry and notions book in title heart to heart

كتاب شعر بهمس في القلب، لأنه يحاول أن يطال الحقيقة بطريقة عاطفية.
يبحث الشاعر في هذا الكتاب عن مغذى الحياةـ عن الله.. عن الانسان فيجد في قلبه الله ويجد حياة الإنسان كئيبة فيحاول إعطاءها المحفذ للاستمرار
