I have an older edition. Assuming that they have not taken anything out I must say that this is a very complete book of basic sailing boats, techniques, and lore. From tides to weather, to sails, and engines and all types and styles of anchors and anchoring and on and on. A must for cruising boat library. Lots of practical information. Always fun to thumb through this little treasure and find some little clever detail you somehow missed the first time. Fun stuff, and lots of great illustrations.

Indispensable. I've had my copy near at hand since I bought it in 1989, whether I am able to sail or not. The internal page references are like a Choose Your Own Adventure of nautical knowledge.

(Please note: most folks just call this Royce's, not "Sailing Illustrated." Don't know what Goodreads is thinking.)
