Tessa's Garden is four quick paced novellas that center on Tessa, her life, her neighbors and the community garden at the apartment complex she lives in. There is one book for each season and it was nice to get to know the characters.

Tessa has an office job while her boyfriend, Samson, is a hippie that works in his friend's music store, drinks a lot of herbal tea and rides a bike everywhere. We get to see their relationship grow from friends to more but unfortunately they are not always on the same page. Tessa has a good heart but jumps to conclusions before thinking things through. When she gets into trouble Samson is often by her side.

Tessa doesn't look back when she sees something that needs looking into or fixing. Nothing seems to phase her. Watching her and Samson's relationship grow was fun to watch. There's a depth to Samson that even Tessa isn't aware of and she almost ruins what they have together especially when her mother comes to visit but instead seems to settle in - in her apartment no less. Seeing her frustration grow the longer her mother lives with her instead of returning home to Florida to be with her husband, Tessa's dad, was heartwrenching at times.

The stories flowed from one to the other - Tessa's Spring, Tessa's Summer, Tessa's Autumn and Tessa's Winter - and it was nice to see how the story continued from one book to the next. There was nice closure and a few happily ever afters in the offing - some happening throughout the four novellas - but an epilogue would have been a nice touch.

This is the first book of this author's books that I've read but I look forward to reading more of them in the future.

Tessa's Garden is a sweet romance, one built on friendship and shared interests. While Samson is Tessa's boyfriend and "partner in crime", he also manages to keep her steady and helps her to find balance when her over-active imagination runs wild. Tessa doesn't mean to find trouble, she appears to be a magnet for it. Her caring nature and community consciousness draw her into escapades that she has a hard time extricating herself from. A thoroughly enjoyable read that leaves a smile on your face. I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

This book is unique! It's a story told from Tessa's view, centered around the community garden of her apartment complex. She develops friendships and even finds love while working in the garden. I enjoyed seeing how Tessa grows as a person and how she stands up for her friends and for what she believes in! I recommend this book!
