I had a good time reading this fantasy and I enjoyed that the main narrator is a winged mare - who is also telepathic. In the beginning she is eighty years old, happily mated and grazing, when she is called upon to be bonded to a new royal baby who is of a race like humans. The tale jumps forward a few times through years of the prince growing up until suddenly he's a grown, moody young man, unwilling to get married, and certainly not to his cousin. I read the box set of 4 books. The first two books were a 4 or 5 *, but the last two books were a repeat of the first two from a different viewpoint, and as such were not worth reading. I understand there are more books in the series, but I have been unable to find them to read. I am not trying very hard because of the last two books.
I loved the story of Lillith. The concept of animals communicating with humans (using telepathy) is something that warms the heart. The world comes to life as you delve into the story, her unique characters keeping you engaged in the story until the end. A thoroughly enjoyable journey. Carol Buhler is a very good artist.
This story in part is about bonds between different species that are able to work together on a planet other than Earth where 3 different sentient species live there including humans. I think Lillith is a great book and other books in the series will be great too. I am glad I got this copy of Carol's book to review. This book is available on Amazon
