Many things stood out to me in this book, but one of the most impressive things I saw in Gen. Lee was his polite, clear, and unruffled way of writing, even when he was under incredible stress, facing poor health or imminent defeat. He was a model of good taste and manners and a great example for us in the 21st century digital free-for-all we call e-mail.
