With her professional reputation in tatters and her boss in jail Sophie Kincaid has no choice but to move to small-town Revival, Illinois, until the dust settles, where her best friends have

Out of all the cars, why did he have to have this one? Muscle cars were her weakness. Well, that and tattoos.
Hell, everything about this man was her weakness.

City girl Sophia Kincaid is forced to move temporarily to small-town Revival after her successful job in Chicago ends in scandal. With the help of her best friends she accepts a six month PR job and rent’s a small house, hoping a few months away would make everyone forget and she can go back to the city she loves. But things get a lot m

5 - "I think I like him..." Stars!

The fifth book in Jennifer Dawsons; Something New series gives us, dirty-sexy cop Ryder Moore and Girl-About-Town Sophie Kincaid’s story.

The one thing that always strikes me when I pick up a book by this author is how I always forget just how much I enjoy her writing. Head Over Heels was just such an entertaining read.

Her vagina had terrible taste in men and notoriously steered her wrong, which was why she’d stopped listening to it years ago…

I liked it. However, it is not among my favorite Dawson romances and I’m going to just say it - there were alot of shortcuts in this story which didn’t quite work for me. As a standalone, the story does just fine. Although heroes and heroines from earlier books make appearances, they don’t impact the main story so much that you need their history as well.

Now, Sophie and Ryder start off on the very wrong foot from the moment they meet. I can only guess that, because of the length of the story and

I have had ups and downs with the Something New series, but for the most part it's been an enjoyable series. I had no idea the author was continuing on with the books, but I was eager to learn of Head Over Heels' existence. To be honest I couldn't remember the two main characters here from the previous books. Even after I was done reading Head Over Heels I couldn't remember them! I know I have a very poor book memory but usually I'll remember as I read the book. Anyways, back to talking about th

Sophie Kincaid's dream PR career in Chicago goes up in flames when her boss embezzles money from the firm to feed his coke habit, as a Vice-President she is tarred with the same brush and overnight her name is mud. She retreats to small town Illinois, Revival to be precise where one of her best friends has got her a job in city government assisting the town revitalisation project. Her friend has also found her a house to rent for six months. And that's where the problems b

It wasn't the greatest romance ever. I did have many feeling as always of course when I read romance books, the relationships make me so emotional. It had one of my fave trope which was dislike/hate turns to love. I missed the gang so that was fun to read about again!

Still I did have some issues and as I said, it wasn't any different from the other in the series. White people kissing and falling in love. This is something that I'm like "why" because it's a large group of friends and probably the

I’ve been waiting forever for this book, and Jennifer Dawson did not disappoint!

This story follows Sophie who moved to Revival following a scandal involving the company she worked for in Chicago that ended up with her losing her job and her reputation tainted. She rented a house next to sexy Ryder Moore, Revival’s deputy sheriff who also happened to be her landlord. Sparks instantly flew when these two met, and despite knowing he was bad for her, Sophie just couldn’t stay away…

3.5 stars. This was a pretty good book. I liked it but I didn't love it. This is Sophie and Ryder's story. Sophie loses her high profile PR job when her boss goes to prison for embezzlement. Her connection with him and his company make her a professional pariah. So she moves to the small town of Revival, where one of her best friends lives, to get a short term job with the local government. She thinks she is way too good for the small town and will die of boredom. Sophie is counting down the day ...more

I have been a long time Jennifer Dawson fan and honestly this book was one of her best!! Her novels are synonymous with having loads of heat, humor and heart! Likewise she will always deliver a strong and sassy heroine that brings the hero to his knees and a hot and sexy alpha male that always has us squirming and swooning at the same time. I absolutely could not get enough of Ryder and Sophie and and all their sexy chemistry and banter.

Head Over Heels goes end over end as we watch Sophie and Ryder wrestle with their off the charts insta-lust attraction as they stubbornly try to resist each other. What starts as an “I’ll look but shouldn’t touch” mantra has this main couple drooling, circling around each other, and exchanging heated glances, flirty/snarky back and forth banter, all while trying to convince themselves to keep their hearts and hands to themselves for the greater good of their futures. The problem is they both lon ...more

Sophie Kincaid sees her career going up in flames as the FBI has raided her bosses office and now have also lead her away. This is the way the book opens. A month later she has left Chicago and is moving in to a place in a town Revival Illinois. With a new job working for the city. She now meets her landlord and immediately is sassy and rude. This was a really fun read. The heroine, Sophie Kincaid, has lost her job in Chicago and so has retreated to a small Illinois town where she joins friends and stars of earlier Dawson novels. She regards the time there as just a temporary stopover before she can return to the city. However, the house she’s renting is owned by and next to the hot and hunky deputy sheriff, Ryder Moore. The two are instantly attracted to each other, however both of them recognize that this would be a bad idea, a ver ...more

Jennifer Dawson takes us back to Revival, Illinois in this fantastic opposites attracts story that had me laughing and swooning at the same time. It's a great small town romance as city girl Sophie Kincaid finds herself inexplicably drawn to small town guy Ryder Moore. Yes, he's the bad boy type she's always found attractive but she's sworn off that type so why is he getting under her skin? She's only in Revival because her professional life imploded and she needs this job to get her footing. Ry ...more

Ms. Dawson has a talent more magnetic than seduction. Her knack to find humor in moments that are not always humorous is why I keep coming back for more. Within the pages of her tempting novels are morsels of optimism that touch the heart and characters that set hormones raging. Head over Heels is an alluring opposites attract tale of intriguing romance and emotional upheaval. Ryder and Sophie can bring out the worst in each other, but that thunder is morphing into something neither thought poss ...more

When Sophie escapes to small town Revival after a work meltdown that her boss caused, she doesn’t expect her super hot neighbor to provide a must need distraction but that’s exactly what he does.

These two have their ups and downs, but it was a super fun read to find out how to go from enemies to friends with benefits to more, and with everything in between along the way.

This book can be read as a stand-alone but every book in this series is great.

It's been SO long since I read a new author and then immediately needed to read more and I could not be happier to finally have a new author's stuff to obsess over. This book was so good. The characters were well developed and fun, with insta-lust but not insta-love. Honestly, I basically loved everything about this and immediately added all of Jennifer Dawson's books to my "to-read" list.

I could write an extensive review but it's just not coming to me. I have really enjoyed the last book in this series, but I was just a bit underwhelmed by this one. It felt too formulaic to me and I never really liked the heroine, Sophie.

Ofcourse the writing was, as always, great. Just did not enjoy the storyline.

I have mixed feelings over this book. It took me quite a while to actually get into it. The first 50% were somewhat repetitive but from 51% onwards I was invested. I love reading about a heroine who refuses to give up her life in order to follow her man to wherever he is. That being said, Sophie is not a likeable character. Her arrogance and rudeness is infuriating as is the blatant disrespect she has for those who try

When the FBI investigates her boss and he ends up in jail, Sophie Kincaid finds herself fleeing Chicago where no can judge her about her professional reputation being in tatters. So when her six months are up and it's time to head back to Chicago, will Sophie be able to leave or will she give up everything she's worked so hard for because of love?

Sophie believes she's living the life. She lives in the city where everything (shopping, takeout, & Starbucks) is at her disposal. She has a job she loves, but it all changes on a dime. FBI swarm her job, shutting it down. As VP, Sophie was found not guilty, but her image was tarnished nonetheless. In her spare time, Sophie also wrote a successful blog about new, trendy places in the city. It too suffers due to the investigation. So Sophie's friends convince her to move to Revival, temporari ...more

I really like Jennifer Dawson. And this is a fun series. I was trying to figure out what makes this book different from some other romance books. They both have couples that fall in lust/love and have a lot of explicit sex (just an fyi if that's not your thing). But I decided that these romance books are lighter...like maybe you would call it....softcore (soft core? soft-core??). Some romance books have a lot darker tone with guys that tend to be waaaaay too alpha for my taste. Always ordering t ...more
