This book is for entrepreneurs and the leaders of B2B businesses who want to use content marketing to bring a predictable stream of qualified leads into their sales cycles, and need a replicable system to make it happen.
This book provides that system — a step-by-step process that can be executed in any business to generate qualified leads and more conversions with content marketing.
In Content That Converts, you'll learn:
- How to get clear on your audience, offers and messaging (and why those three elements are so important)
- How to develop a recurring content system, and how to create long-form content assets (such as books and courses) that establish you as an industry leader
- How to distribute your content effectively with email and SEO, to expand your reach and create conversion opportunities that translate to sales
- How to hone your conversion potential over time with the principles of influence and market sophistication, and how to write powerful sales copy as a result
“Laura is a content machine that pumps out excellence onto paper.” Jeff Root, SellTermLife and #1 Amazon Bestseller
“Using your strategies, we’re getting more sales and people are much more engaged. Good work!” Scott Desgrosseilliers, Wicked Reports
"Laura has a great ability to draw out the nuances of how things are done in any business. Her writing is fantastic and the delivery is spot on." Tristan King, owner of Blackbelt Commerce, top-rated Shopify agency in the world
Good but it feels like it's just a long sales page
The content is good, not great. It glosses over a few important concepts without "selling the farm".
I was annoyed by the typos (especially since the author uses the book to sell her writing services) and the very obvious reason why this book exists, which is to get you to buy the author's services.
It's sad that so many books out there are like that.
This book is very specific and detailed when it comes to teaching online business owners everything from writing content to marketing. Every step is detailed in a way that nothing is left for guessing. Powerful action steps, good descriptions, and detailed instructions have me rating 5 stars!
Some good, very basic concepts for beginners. A little sales driven at time, lots of plugs for certain websites, courses and books. Alot of this information is available online, for free.
Content is already the #1 way that my business attracts new customers, but Laura's book gives even more of a detailed framework for creating content that helps to create authority for your brand (or personal brand). Because content marketing is definitely a marathon, not a sprint, you want to make sure you're spending your time and money wisely and doing it right. Otherwise all those blog posts and videos are for nothing. I like how this book covers a lot of the principles around creating personas for your content, actual goals and metrics, and a system for creating and promoting content. I found it just the right mix of theory and practical steps to follow.
I have actually worked with Laura on some content projects, and can say first-hand that she is a total pro with excellent systems and a thorough and meticulous approach to content. So I'm please to have all of her best practices in one easy-to-reference book.
If your style guide is the bible, this is the new testament.
As a Content Manger, I keep this book on my desk right next to other tools like my AP Style Guide. It's very basic, but it's written in such a clear, concise way that it takes no effort to reference and functions effectively as a Monday-morning realigner or catalyst when I'm stuck on something.
I encourage anyone on my team who writes any content, from emails to whitepapers, to read this book and encourage anyone who wants to write effective content to do the same.
P.S. While reading the first time I reached out to the author on Twitter with a question about customer avatars and she was very responsive.
Wow! This book is jam packed with incredible information. Yes, they are speaking most directly to B2B (Business to Business) companies, but there is plenty of useful information for anyone looking to make money online. It's so packed with good information, that I made notes on my Kindle to go back over stuff. I'll be reviewing those soon, and reinforcing what I've learned to maximize the benefits of the knowledge I gleaned. There's just no other way to do it. I'm very excited to put this stuff to use and watch my businesses grow.
Albeit somewhat general, Laura makes a thorough review on content marketing strategies and actions. This book will be most useful to those companies that wish to either start o refine their content marketing, but also offers good advice and material to those struggling or finding problems with their strategy. There are numerous checklist and ideas that you can borrow and correlate with you particular case.
