Welcome Winter

Rate this book
From Little Scholastic comes this innovative and interactive first seasons board book.
Ages: 0-2

This bright, tactile board book celebrates a first encounter with the coldest season: winter. Bold, simple illustrations and textures show what a child first sees, hears, touches, and feels. And no matter how blowy or snowy it may be outside, this child ends up safe and warm in Mommy's arms. The first in this series of four seasonal offerings.

This is another book in the Little Scholastic series. They are simple, fun books for parents and children to share. They are among favorites in our house and even though on the covers they say baby to 2, our daughter who is 3 still loves them - especially reading them with her little brother. These are touch and feel books, designed to delight the eyes and the fingers with different sensations. In this book children will experience silvery snowflakes, fuzzy felt-like snowflakes, crunchy snow packed under feet, sparkly wind, a warm wool hat and a curtain flap to keep out the cold. The illustrations are simple and pure and do a great job for young children without being too complicated.

Cute winter book. Great touch and feel. Definitely worth buying or reading over and over with under 2 year old.

Highly interested because brother was. Liked the touch and feel and peek a book flap.

I wish we had found this earlier - T loves touch and feel books, and I like to read seasonal books - but we've moved on to reading mostly spring books hoping that it will actually start acting like spring.

In my opinion, maybe not quite as good as the other books in this series, but Devin still really likes it, so I have to give it the 4 stars (he is the target audience, afterall). One of his favorite textures is the crunchy snow.

Touch soft snowflakes, crunchy snow, sparkling wind, a soft warm hat, and look out the window at a snowman....
Justin (19 months) and I love this one.

E really liked the different elements she could touch (and they weren't all fuzzy things).
