Set in 1800's Japan in the world of samurai, a rigid caste system and feudal lords, Blossom of the Samurai is the third and final book in the Sword and Silk Trilogy. I would suggest reading the first two books beforehand because characters and background from those books figure prominently here.

We first met Toho when he was taken in by Sho and Hirata after the murder of his parents. Kind and nurturing Aoki, a kabuki actor and former kagema (prostitute), was instrumental in Toho's recovery and is

‘Blossom of the Samurai’ is the third and last instalment of the ‘Sword and Silk trilogy’.

This is the story of Aoki (Genji’s friend and a kabuki actor) and Toho (the kid from ‘Blind Love’ whom Sho and Hirata adopted)

This third story in the ‘Sword and Silk’ series by Sedonia Guillone, set in eighteenth-century Japan, brings together some of the threads from the first two volumes, and adds yet another emotional adventure with lots of romance and a love that initially seems impossible. Daisuke, a ronin samurai, and his lover, Genji, from book one are back, but it is Genji’s actor friend, Aoki, whose turn it is to find love. Hirata and Sho also feature, and it is their adopted son, Toho, who grows up and discov ...more

I thought Blossom of the Samurai was interesting. It was beautifully paced with the way the author wrote. I kind of felt like I had travelled back in time to Japan. I thought Aoki was a very controlled caring person and I loved how kind and naïve Toho was and how devoted he was to Aoki and his fathers.

From that review: "Blossom of the Samurai ties up the stories of the three couples that make up the Sword and the Silk Trilogy by Sedonia Guillone and its such a lovely finish to this trilogy.

I've been reading her Samurai stories for years and started on this path with Flying Fish back in 2009 (it was rereleased by Dreamspinner Press in 2016). Sedonia Guillone's tales
