This is the first book I have read by this author and I admired how “Subrata Roy Sahara” popularly known as Saharasri, has wonderfully described his thoughts. The author is a well-established corporate tycoon and during the bad phase of his life in Tihar, he thoroughly analyzed the scenario of the country, its alarming situations, and created an engaging discussion through his book.

‘Think With Me’ focuses on the fundamental issues of our democracy i.e. Politics, Electoral System &

I like a few of the authors quotes like 'Though we vote, we have little or no faith in the leaders.' I have not known a person who I believe can lead or die for the country! I agree totally that our education system is nowhere aimed at developing responsible citizens either. His 5 categories of the emotional sphere was the icing on the cake.

Through this book, I feel that if the leaders thought like the author, India would be a lovely place to live in! But the general public may not b

Reading non-fiction books give me a different kind of satisfaction because may be a reader won’t learn anything after reading a fiction but a non-fiction book surely adds something to our knowledge. Even if the book is unable to provide any knowledge, it at least changes or builds our opining towards something. Last time when I had picked the book written by one of the most eminent personalities of India, ‘Saharasri’ Subrata Roy Sahara, Life Mantras, I was really happy with the kind of insight h

Think With Me is a book written for the masses. One does not see a remarkable application of language or even effective use expressions. It is one man thinking aloud and sharing his views on how India can be a better country. I would not give a pound of my flesh to own this book, but some sections of the book did draw me out of my comfort zone and left me pondering. For example I may not totally agree with the description of ‘Categories of People’ in the first chapter, but I found this an eye op ...more

I was surprised to see the facts as it looked like a book about something else but after reading I found about different facts. It is filled with information about a lot of history of our country. It is good to know all the facts and information but it could have been more interesting. It becomes a little boring in between. Overall, not a bad book. There are 5 parts in the book and some of them are interesting to read. I enjoyed the media which tells about the role of newspapers and other media ...more

I agreed to review Think With Me, the second instalment in his Thoughts from Tihar, because I hoped to see some level-headed arguments from this well-read man. But Think With Me is a resounding disappointment.

There are many things that I disagree with in the book. And to see such shocking statement coming from a “responsible” person as Sahara is heartbreaking. He goes to the extent of saying that we have a “bad quality” population. It’s people we are talking about, not apples. And he

For someone who has fallen foul of the law, it is ironic that Subrata Roy chose to deal with the topic of nation building. But, this book shows that he does know exactly what has gone wrong with India since Independence. We may or may not agree with his solutions--to each his own.
In the preface, Roy admits that he isn't a subject matter expert. He is simply presenting his ideas and opinions. However, he does include notes in the book clarifying that if he is approached for detailed consultation

Think with Me is a non-fiction which talks about some of the issues prevalent in our country. Being an Indian, we all are well aware that India is a developing country and the developing state of India needs a fast pace in order to overcome the current situation. There are some issues which are known to all- just known! We seldom try to know the real side of the problems; or rather we try to ignore them because we’re satisfied with what we have. So, there arise a need to spread awareness about t ...more

An honest, poignant, well- articulated book that highlights and provides the required acumen to the very core issues of our own Country. The author of this book has recorded the fundamental issues Political Leadership, Population, Education System, Media and Religion as the hindrance for the growth and prosperity of our country and the citizens.

The Author being our own countrymen needn’t have to analyze or dig deep to understand the above-mentioned core issues that actually hinders the growth o

There is no doubt that India has made rapid progress and achieved prosperity too, yet the goals that we set for ourselves are still unfulfilled or underachieved. It is a harsh reality that we have bigger problems today than we had at the time of Independence. These problems are not good signs for the future of India.

In addition to stating the problems, the author has also jotted down the solutions to eradicate the flaws in the system, which is good. Despite outlining the flaws in our system in clear words, Think With Me lacks the spark to inspire people to get up and take action. Dr. Roy has used an extremely lucid and simple language which makes it easy for an average reader to understand and relate to the issues covered in the book.
