I just wasn’t feeling it. I hate that this is the second DNF for me this week.
I felt like the feelings they had for each other were either previously developed or too insta. I like to experience the development of feelings in my books.
The sex club was meh too.
And the cherry on top for me was that the h had 4 different men propositioning her already and not all at the sex club. One is her celebrity crush . Obviously she was sooo irresistible 🙄

Hmmmm. I think if the first 40% of this story had been expanded into novel length, it would have been a 5 star read for me. Because until that point, I was smiling with happiness at having found a new-to-me author who wrote with both intelligence and heat.
Peyton was a great heroine - a successful, level-headed divorce lawyer - and I really enjoyed the time she spent in court and in her office talking to her client. Who knew divorce law could be made interesting? Plus, there was a pretty entertaining run-in with her neighbor who turned out to be , and of course, there was Booker and her first trip to an exclusive sex club. Sigh, all really good stuff.
But once Peyton and Booker get together, the writing becomes careless. The difference was like day and night. All of a sudden, we had:
If you're the type of reader who's not bothered by these kinds of things, you should have no problems. For me, since I know this author is capable of greatness, I'm looking forward to giving her writing another shot.

*the retelling of events that the reader already knew about in detail
*repetitive plot recapping
*characters spontaneously blurting secrets without provocation to further the plot
*a lot of misused words
*repetitive phrasing, IE: "Just come inside." He gestured for me to walk inside.
*the 'conflict' being resolved with ridiculous ease
If you're the type of reader who's not bothered by these kinds of things, you should have no problems. For me, since I know this author is capable of greatness, I'm looking forward to giving her writing another shot.

Hot,hot,hot in & out of the court room.
Two lawyers working for opposite firms. Neither could be in a relationship with each other due to regulations so when They come across each other in a sex club, a club with a rule of what happens behind closed doors stays behind closed doors it's a win win, or is it?
By invitation only is a hot read, two lawyers getting it on and it's a fan me down read.
I enjoyed the plot, no over the top BDSM sex scenes which I seem to be getting tired of despite it having a sex club setting it was two people who are in a new passionate relationship & trying to keep it a secret so their jobs aren't in jeopardy.
An enjoyable hot read with likeable characters told in dual pov's.

So flippin hot and sexy! This is the first book by Kimberly Knight that I have read and I will definitely read more! I loved how Booker and Peyton get together!! It was so hot and only got hotter from there. Peyton thought Booker was totally arrogant and never in a million years thought she would get involved with him but when he leans in and kisses her, she gives in to what her body wants. Booker ends up being really sweet (and dirty) and falls hard for Peyton. Ms. Knight describes Sensation and the goings on so well that you feel like you are there. (fans self) So erotic! Loved it!

I loved this book. It was fun, romantic, sexy and exciting. Payton and Booker is a perfect match they are both lawyers and there first time together is at an exclusive sex club. Booker has been fantasizing about Payton for a couple of years and finally his dream come true. I was well entertained all trough the book and I am looking forward to read more

I just had to read this book, just had to find out; who and what they liked; curiosity hasn't killed me yet. Well at least when a good book is the end result!
Ms. Knight proceeds to introduces us to two divorce attorneys in L.A. both whom work for high end clientele , many of those clientele are actors and actresses . So when Peyton is hired by Ava a famous actress who wants to end her marriage the only way she can figure to get a jump on her apposing attorney is to actually serve Ava's husband at the sex club the couple frequents . What she doesn't expect is that her opposing attorney ; Booker Jameson even after witnessing her serve his client , would save her from drinking a foodies drink but then drag her off , well she kind of went willingly after one flaming long lasting kiss . They really should not do this , they could get in trouble with the state bar since they work opposing sides of cases often ; but list and desire leave no room for thought. And beside what happens at "Sensation" stays at " Sensation "!
However when it comes to Booker once with the women he has wanted for years is just not going to be enough.
So put on your big girl panties or take them off and strap in for a hot , spicy and sexy read with a few twist and turns on the way to an HEA!

It was just supposed to be a one-off, but she's intrigued by what and who she finds there. Booker, the sexy attorney who has been a tough adversary, just so happens to be a member. He has no time for relationships, but he's wanted her for years. They have great chemistry as they explore their boundaries. With some unique twists and great characters, Kimberly Knight created a fun, sexy, and entertaining read.

I have read many of Kimberly Knight's books and this one did not disappoint! Peyton and Booker are both family lawyers from two different law firms often going up against each other. One specific case brings them together in a sex club which you can only enter By Invitation Only. Things from here get steamy and complicated between Peyton and Booker. Questions concerning their jobs, current relationships and citizenship are circling them as they explore their relationship. Great read!!

Well this is awkward. I had a feeling I would really enjoy this book, but it didn't take long to realize my instincts were very wrong. The writing was... not great, the characters were nothing special and I was just not feeling the story.
Regardless, it was entertaining enough. I didn't feel like I was forcing myself to read it or anything like that. But then something happened around 30% into the book that really bothered me. And it pretty much continued going downhill from there. I know they knew each other for a while, but it still felt like their feelings progressed way too quickly. Especially Booker's. He was already calling her "mine" during their first night together. And speaking of that, the sex in this book was not that great. I'd expect a book like this to be super hot, and while there was a ton of sex scenes, they weren't the best I've ever read.
There was also a minor storyline involving a side character that made me very uncomfortable. I had originally given this book 2 stars, but upon further reflection I've dropped it down to 1 because of this storyline.
I can say a lot more about things I found cringe-worthy. Like Peyton's friend being freakishly obsessed with every detail about her sex life (cuz that's not creepy or anything) or Booker's obsession with staying in shape. The guy couldn't even eat a plate of spaghetti without talking about having to work it off at the gym. Also, these idiots are trying to hide their relationship, but then they're stupid enough to go out and have some sexy times in a public place? But I think I'll just leave it at that.

Usually Kimberly Knights book can get me out of a book slump. And it's a sad day when that doesn’t happen. This just didn't do it for me. The characters weren't bad I just felt nothing for them. Storyline just left me feeling meh. I still love this author think she's amazing.

Wow! Kimberly Knight is definitely a new favorite author. This is my first read of hers. I have to say I want more! This book has exceptional writing, great storyline, strong characters, steamy scenes that had me squirming in my seat. Plus some angst that kept me intrigued to the last page. I love not knowing what to expect. I don't always want a predictable story. I enjoy some uncertainty. By Invitation Only delivered in every way.
Peyton Winters is fantastically written, strong, independent heroine! She's absolutely beautiful and an all around great catch but doesn't even realize it. Booker Jameson is a hot English womanizer who has been attracted to Peyton for five long years. They've been opposing council over the years and he loves her feisty side while she thinks dirty thoughts of him in the court room. When they cross paths at an excusive party, sparks fly! One hot, kinky, intense night together sends them both reeling. Then Booker's best friend says something to Peyton that sends her running. Do either of them want more? Can they be together? For me, their story was perfect and made their journey entertaining. As the story unfolds you really fall in love with these characters. Their struggle with professional conflict and ethics is so real. Add to that their personal lives and complicated pasts. I loved every word. Such a great read!

Kimberly is one of my favourite ever Authors and I never need to read what her books are about I just dive straight in. Some may say I'm biased, and that I never say I was disappointed in one of her books and that's because I never am. Kimberly's books are fantastic and By Invitation Only was no exception.
Peyton and Booker are both Lawyers and are often on opposite sides of the courtroom with each other, but it's not till they come face to face at exclusive sex club 'Sensation' that the sparks fly and a chemistry so red hot you feel like you are walking on hot coals. The only way into Sensation is to become a member or 'By Invitation Only. But just what happens when secrets are revealed and the chemistry sparks both inside and outside the club?
Kimberly is a fantastic storyteller. She always gives us very relatable characters in all her books. A Beautifully written story with a great plot, sexy, hot and of course romantic, with an extra pinch of spice!! What I loved was Peyton was a very head strong woman who wasn't a damsel in distress that needed saving. And of course let's not forget the gorgeous, sexy and dashing Booker.
Kimberly you making it hard for me to choose between all these hot alphas you keep giving me. Brandon will always be my favourite but Booker is now up there with him and alongside Gabe too. A great read for all fans of Kimberly and if you haven't read any of her books, Shame on You lol, This would definitely be a great one to start with!!

Payton e Booker são uma combinação perfeita, ambos advogados, muito bons no que fazem, maduros e decididos quanto ao que querem. Os personagens secundários também são ótimos e fazem o contraponto perfeito para alavancar ainda mais a história. Eu gostaria muito que tivesse uma história para Randy e Lorelei, ambos amigos do casal.
Ainda não tinha lido nada da autora e talvez por isso a leitura foi uma surpresa das boas! A história é hot, muito hot, mas recheada de elementos que dão consistência ao enredo, fazendo que a leitura seja fluida e gostosa. Kimberly criou personagens fortes, decididos, maduros e carismáticos. Enfim, uma combinação pra lá de prazerosa.
Eu gostei muito do livro. Foi divertido, romântico, sexy e até mesmo emocionante em algumas partes. É um livro envolvente e que dá para ler rapidinho. Se você curte romances hots, com um bom enredo, Sensation é uma ótima pedida.

Payton and Booker work at opposite law firms. Having a relationship with opposing counsel is against the rules. As it is Payton thinks Booker is a grade A jerk. But when they run across one another in a sex club the rules change. What happens behind those closed doors stay behind them.
So it should be a win, win right? WRONG. Sometimes when you have something once you want it again. But can they figure out how to make it work or will their jobs come between something more?
This book is romantic, hot, has a few twists thrown in there, and of course, it wouldn't be complete without someone trying to interfere and make a mess of things.
I can't wait to read more from Kimberly.

By Invitation Only is a stand alone Contemporary Romance with a Forbidden trope. The book is interesting enough but the many editorial errors is distracting. My rating is 3.5 stars.

They both fall in love instantly and hide that they are seeing each other until he makes partner. Will the secret be exposed and will the hiding become to much?

Wow! I've always been a fan of Kimberly's books but I think this is my favorite! Everything about this book is original. I love the location, the characters, the plot. It's as steamy as it is romantic. I could just hear Booker's accent when he spoke and my knees went weak. I want to be Peyton! Booker is alpha enough to be sexy but not so much he's an a##hole. The story is told in dual points of view so you know what Booker and Peyton are thinking and has the best HEA!

I am really glad I took a chance on this book. The storyline was different and quite enjoyable. It had the right combination of hot, sex and romance. Peyton and Booker are two characters that sacrificed themselves to their successful careers and put love on the back burner. A secret club provides them the opportunity to explore possible love further but will secrets force them to end things before they start? Recommended for another who loves romance with some erotic and steamy scenes.

Not bad, but also not very kinky at all. Yes they meet at a sex club, but even at the club the their sex is mainstream with a wee bit of bondage thrown in. Any kink is what the others at the club are up to (public sex, groups, and the beginnings of discipline demonstration).
Other than the misleading cover, title, and blurbage, the characters were appealing (Booker, especially) and the book held my interest.

Payton and Booker are both lawyers and they fight it out in court, but the attraction they had was going nowhere..until Payton gets invited to an exclusive sex club and there the two meet again.
I enjoyed the story, a bit repetitive at times, but it kept me entertained and it was quite hot!

Ha I think after reading this story everyone is going to want an invitation too! It's sweet, sexy, a bit daring, possessive in a yummy way, intriguing and amazing plus so much more! Sometime we avoid situations or hold back and not give things or people chances for many different reasons! And sometimes things happen to where we feel free of judgments and end up loving the outcomes! Two people that both love their jobs, fight against each other but have a passion and curiosity that fit just right! And then sometimes there's that one stick in the mid that doesn't want to leave things alone! Great read that you won't want to put down!

This was a good story. There was a lot of the unexpected in Booker and Peyton's journey. The club was pretty much what you expect and just enough to keep it interesting.

Il libro, mi ha conquistata con le sue attente descrizioni, mi sono sentita immergere nelle atmosfere del club, nella nostra protagonista, e sulle sensazioni di entrambi.
Come sempre la Knight si è rivelata per me una certezza.
La scoperta delle emozioni nei protagonisti, nei loro amici e familiari, i colpi di scena, mi ha fatto divorare questo libro in pochissime ore, è scorrevole e piacevole, piccante al punto giusto. Anche con scene intense non è risultato volgare, le scene romantiche sono state ben equilibrate a quelle hot, sia al Sensation, sia fuori le sue tende!
Aprirà la mente di chiunque abbia accesso, sotto invito, al club. Un mondo senza inibizioni vi accoglierà senza remore. Un mondo di fantasie, perversioni, ma soprattutto di fiducia nel partner.

I was excited when I got the chance to receive this book for a review. I have read other books by Kimberly and just like them I found it hard to put this one down. It is a spicy romantic story of taking chances and letting go of your inhibitions. This book was fun, sexy, hot, and romantic and I assure you it will not disappoint.
