Lana is a telemarketer. She's been told to sell a holiday package before the end of her shift, or it will be her very last shift. Having a young daughter to support and needing money, she makes another phone call.

Thousand of miles away, the phone is answered by Liam. When Lana starts her spiel, he tells her not to continue, he's getting ready to kill himself.

At first, Lana thinks it is a joke. But somehow the man's earnest demeanor comes through.

As time runs out for both of them, they e

If I could rate Trust Me 10 stars I would!

I was hooked from page 1. Gemma's style of writing made reading even better. The chapters were short and sharp.
I was hanging on to every word desperate to find out more. It was captivating, enthralling, Heartbreaking and had so many twists and turns I was left guessing at every page.

Lana and Liam connect via a telephone call that will change both of their lives forever!

Wow! Trust Me is the best 99p I have spent in a long time! I saw this book had some great early reviews so got my pre order in and it magically appeared on my Kindle on Friday. And normally books then languish there for a good few weeks (months) due to my ridiculously high TBR pile but this one had intrigued me so much that I went to bed with it on Sunday night. And in the early hours of Monday morning I finally put it down with just that one word…….”wow”!

OMG,I was so hooked in by this gripping psychological thriller that when my hubby left for work at 6.30am this morning instead of just turning over and going back to sleep like I usually do I couldn't resist getting up,grabbing my kindle and finding out how this riviting thriller was going to end.Now I'm bitterly disappointed, not by how it ended but by the fact that I have finished the book.

Easily four and a half stars, bumped up to a five. The ending will blow you away. The two main characters are very different, but immediately likeable and you really feel for them both. I suspected a couple of the surprises in the end, but there were also a couple that managed to shock me. A very twisted and gripping story.

Lana is just trying to pay her rent and care for her daughter. She's stuck doing a sort of telemarketing job, trying to sell holidays. Unfortunately, she is not good at it. H

Totally enjoyed this book. A story of Lana a telesales girl trying to sell a holiday. Takes a call from Liam a man who feels he has now nothing left to live for and wants to end his life . Two strangers with deep heart breaking stories and how they try to save each other. Stories that need to be told.
Gripping with a few twists, for me it was a real page turner from start to finish.
A great read.

I’m not even going to wait until I’ve finished my ramble to tell you to go and buy this book, it is 99p on Amazon and worth much, much more!

Trust Me starts with Liam receiving a phone call from Lana, a cold-caller trying to make a sale, and as a result of this phone call things will never be the same. Liam has decided to kill himself and as Lana tries to make her pitch to him he tells her that there is no point as he is going to be dead and hangs up on Lana. Completely in shock, Lana rings him b

This debut novel was something that I began reading not really knowing what to expect; what a novel to go in blind to! Fast paced and unputdownable, I was consumed in these pages and became completely invested in this unconventional story.

First, the narrative style of this one was completely original. It had me on the edge of my seat. Two people speaking to each other over the phone, one person, a telemarketer, and the other, a man in the midst of completing suicide, in present time, begin to re

I loved this book! It is a great writing style and concept - 2 main characters recounting events from their lives, over a long distance telephone call.

Well written short chapters, lots of twists and turns, and not a serial killer in sight!

A refreshing change, totally recommended and can't wait for the author's next book.

Working as a phone salesperson has to suck. The constant hang ups, verbal abuse, etc. Lana is not much different. She is pretty much harassed by her manager to make one more sale or she's fired. She then ends up calling Liam, who tells her he is about to end his life.

This book had its ups and downs, good and bad points. The story is told from Lana and Liam, and how they got to where they are now in life. There were points in the book that did make me sad and feel for Liam, but most of it was ju

WOW! What a story. I absolutely loved TRUST ME. Right from the start Liam and Lana are pushed together and the time clock starts. While their stories took some time to get through, I ate up each nugget of information that brought the two of them together. They were involved with some horrible people!! There were a few times I screamed at them in my head to do the opposite of what they actually did. But that's the beauty of this story. The suspense kept me glued to the page

OMG what a twister of a read. Lana sells holidays she phones Liam in the hope of getting a sale because if she don't she is fired. But Liam wants to kill himself. Lana must stay on the line to try and stop him from killing himself. I just couldn't put it down until I got to the last page. I had to know what happened between lana and Liam. Trust Me is Gemma Metcalfe's debut novel and what a corker of a read it is. I was hooked from the first page and it only took me a couple of days to finish it.

Lana is working at a call center in Tenerife selling cheap holidays to British tourists. She is struggling to make that all important sale and her boss has warned her that she will be sacked if he doesn't see improvement. But when she phones a number and speaks to Liam who lives hundreds of miles away in England, she could not possibly hav

Umm. Wow. No idea where to start with this. I honestly don't understand the high ratings on this. I know I can tend to be a harsh critic, but this was truly awful. I think this is only the second book ever to be put on my "do not read again" shelf. Interesting premise, but... no. Bad writing (outside of a Facebook chatroom, I've never seen so many exclamation marks), very disturbing subject material that led me to very much question how much research the author has authentically done o
OMG! This was a fantastic psychological thriller that I can't believe it was a debut! I finished it almost a week ago but I have been too busy to sit down and give the review the attention it deserves until now. I read it in two sittings, though I quite easily could have done it in one - bar for the fact I started it just before midnight and found myself dozing the first night that my Kindle hit my head a few times...hence why it took two sittings. But hey, don't let sleep get in the way of a go ...more

"Trust Me" is Gemma Metcalfe's debut novel and after reading it I can say that it is a very promising beginning to her writing career. The synopsis to this novel is truly intriguing, and after seeing it I wanted nothing more than to read this book - it sounded like there is going to be a real race against time, it was unique and refreshing.

This story was full of twists and turns and I was really afraid to turn the page to see what's going to happen and what worse possibly was to come, as truly b

Lana is stuck in a dead-end job working for a callcentre in Tenerife, making the sort of phone calls most people find annoying. Her boss is breathing down her neck as she hasn’t been able to sell even one holiday yet. Time is running out for her. If she doesn’t make a sale she’ll be out of a job. Dialling yet another number Lana hopes that this will be the one. Never in a million years did she expect the response she got.

Hundreds of miles away in Manchester, Liam has decided that life just isn’t

Grip lit does not get any more gripping than Gemma Metcalfe’s addictive debut novel, Trust Me.

Lana should be living the dream in Tenerife – instead she is stuck in a dead end job, working for a complete tyrant of a boss and wondering whether she will ever manage to sell a holiday. Lana’s job involves her calling people and making the sort of telephone calls most people would find a complete nuisance. With her job on the line, Lana wonders whether she will ever succeed in making a sale, but when

I read a lot of this genre of book and I always crave something that's different. This was that book. It's two people having a phone conversation, many miles away from each other. Two people each with their own problems thrown together by circumstance. A bond that, once made, changed both their lives.
Lana is a telesales girl for holidays. She isn't very good and needs a sale to save her job. She calls Liam and is shocked to find out that he is about to kill himself. She needs that sale bad but

If this book is anything to go by Gemma Metcalfe is going to have a bright future in writing.

Both stories are compelling and contain a good few twists that will keep you reading. I read this in 2 days which is pretty are for me. What an utterly gripping read! This book explores what you'll go through to save a life, even when you've never met and just how much you can tell a stranger, when you think there's nothing to lose.

The connection created, between Lana and Liam, is absolutely fantastic. What starts as a last rite and a last ditch effort to keep a job, turns into something so much more. They explore how close you can be and feel to someone you've never met and just how heart-wrenching it can be to know both that s
