Muy interesante lectura. Hace muchos años atrás había leído algunos capítulos de “El Asedio a la Modernidad” de Juan José Sebreli y quedó en mi cabeza instalada la polémica entre Universalismo vs. Relativismo cultural. Todorov trata el tema de una forma muy equilibrada a través del recorrido de distintos pensadores que abordaron el tema. I recommend to read it. who are the others? do you know them? they are not enemies, they are the others. after the conquest of America, what did the xvii th and xviii th century philosophers think about the other? this is a book about the European viewpoint about the others, the Amer-Indians.
