Vintage comics from a pre-Premier League era when professional footballers were called Nat and had combovers.

An occasional dose of realism injected into the superhero antics of England's greatest ever footballer, with Melchester Rovers at an uncustomary low ebb.

Throw in a "Who Shot Roy Race?" serial piggybacking on the Dallas plot line from a couple of years earlier, and this collection is a soccer soap opera that pre-dates Sky's Dream Team by two decades and Ted Lasso by four.

Great nostalgia for those of us who were fans at the time.

Magnificent week-by-week reprinting of Roy Race's 1980-82 halycon days. Looks beautiful and rekindled childhood days.

Would like to see an 80s volume II which sees shock, horror Roy leave Melchester; and the pathetic introduction of the Kemp brothers?
