It's rare to come across a super cute story that can captivate me as much as a suspense would, but this author somehow kept me intrigued throughout this whole story with no problem.
Caleb and Sydney were two very different people, her a college student trying to make her way into the world, and him an already mega successful hockey player.Their differences are what made them work so well together, though. I loved seeing how they came together and could both put their worries behind them, at least for a little while. It was really great to see how they were just these genuine characters that didn't have anything they were hiding. What you saw was what you got.
I found it amazingly genius how the author kind of switched up the rolls with this book. Sydney was the one that wasn't completely sure of her relationship with Caleb, and he was the one that fell hard and fast for her with no doubt in his mind that she was his.
Overall, I highly recommend this book. There was a bit of something for everyone. A hot hockey player, a sweet story, some very smexy scenes. Give it a chance and I don't think you will be disappointed.

After reading From the Beginning (Prescott #0.5) back in April I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next book by Mignon! Although, I originally thought it would be on the timeframe of Noah Sr. and possibly teammates, not his children. However, I'm 10000% happy with the direction Mignon decided to take the series in!!
Interference consist of dual POVs from Sydney and Caleb and is broken up into two parts. Part One, is mainly of Syd and Caleb meeting and their time on the cruise. Part two, is filled with what happens when Syd leaves and the drama a reality TV show can bring. Throughout Interference we mostly get Caleb's POV which I enjoyed! I found that Mignon did an excellent job really of showing readers a male's perspective. Sydney still has a good amount of chapters from her POV which I highly enjoyed, she's sassy and hilarious! When things got bad though I wanted more chapters from her to hear her POV on how she was feeling towards Caleb. The chemistry between the two of them is obvious from the moment they meet and well crafted from beginning to end. I liked how Mignon gave Syd and Caleb minor character development, both characters weren't bad people with major issues but each had minor fault when it came to trust.
The only thing I wasn't okay with was the ending. It wasn't a bad ending! To me it just felt slightly rushed. Things happen, and thankfully they get resolved but I felt like the pace of the Chapter 31, Chapter 32, which takes place one week later, and the Epilogue could have been slowed down a bit.
I can't wait for the next book in the Prescott series! I love the whole family and can't wait to read more about the kids but I'm really hoping we'll get Jonny's book soon :). Also, I think it would be pretty cool is Sydney's family had a spin off series!
Would I recommend Interference? YES!!! Gosh, yes! Also, be sure to check out From the Beginning (Prescott, #0.5)! My review can be found here! I can't wait to read more by Mignon, she just has a way of grabbing readers attention and holding it for the full duration of her books.

In the interest of full disclosure, I DNF From the Beginning when it was offered to me as an ARC for review. I tried. Like REALLY tried. Made it up to Chapter 11 and just could go no further. Honestly. I just wanted to poke my eyes out with an ice pick ... For personal reasons, I did not sit down and list off every single thing I felt was wrong with the book. I knew it was Mignon Mykel's first novel and I also knew that it was years in the making. And that it had been thoroughly revised from its original version. Put all that together and I wasn't about to chop it to pieces. Because the story had potential. It had a solid foundation, but ..... anyways, it didn't deliver in any way for me.
When Interference came up for blog tour review, I REALLY had to think thru whether I wanted to put myself thru this again. But I figured ... second book, maybe learn some new things, better work. SO, I jumped in. I'm really glad that I did !! :)
This story begins a second generation of Prescott's. For lack of a better phrase, it's the baby born from From the Beginning (Prescott Family, #0.5). Caleb Prescott is not your ordinary celebrity sports player. He doesn't have a bad image and he doesn't go around screwing his way thru every puck-bunny in sight. He truly is the nicest of nice guys. That had me a little worried for him. He fell hard for Sydney and was all in from the beginning but Sydney was having none of that LOL This turn of the tables was very refreshing. Sydney was career orientated and focused solely on that ... but a girl can only hold back for so long before her girlie parts take over :) And boy did these two have chemistry! The dual POV helps tremendously in understanding both Caleb and Sydney. They are young. They have insecurities (well, Sydney does ... a lot!) and there's a lot of back and forth that may or may not annoy you but stick with it because in the end, you get a feel good romance with next to no angst and sugary sweetness!
Overall, this is was a HUGE improvement from Book 1 for me but some of the issues I had are still there. Both Sydney and Caleb spent WAY too much time in their heads rather than talking to each other. That causes frustration in a reader because it breaks down communication between the leads and it makes it where the reader knows more than the leads themselves. That definitely is very prominent in this story. However, that's just a dislike on my part. It by no means made the story badly written. I just prefer my characters to talk TO each other then to themselves.

I’d never even heard of Caleb Prescott, God’s gift to hockey. Who watches hockey anyways? Not me, I’m too busy with college and work. My part-time just for fun job has now asked me to recruit this player for a new dating show. Sounds easy enough. . .until he insists I become part of the show.
Caleb:
I only agreed to compete on the dating show to get closer to Sydney—the redhead pixie I’d do anything to see again. But unlike the women competing for my affection, or the puck bunnies desperate for my attention, Sydney isn’t impressed by my hockey skills. I never miss a shot, I don’t care if she calls interference, I’ll do anything to win her heart.

As she was about to rush into explaining when I would board the cruise-liner, as if I had agreed to it, I held up my hand. “Miss Meadows.” God that sounded too formal for a woman like her. “Sydney,” I tried again, definitely preferring the taste of it on my tongue. “How about we meet over coffee or something tomorrow? Ten?”
Her eyes widened slightly, just briefly, before she nodded with a fixed smile in place. “Of course. Yes, that will give you more time to let it sink in. So long as you agree to—”
I cut her off with a grin. While yes, this show was against everything I had ever thought for myself, I had a feeling that sitting with Sydney and talking to her about the show, as if I were agreeing to it, would be the only time I’d see this gorgeous redhead again. I didn’t quite know what was drawing me to this short pixie of a woman, but I definitely wanted to see her again. Tomorrow I’d have no time constraints and she could talk all she wanted.
But before I realized the words were out of my mouth though, I said, “I’ll do it,” agreeing to her pitch.
Shit. Fuck.
The smile filling her face wasn’t one I was about to take away, and her amber eyes danced, lightening just slightly to bring out fiery red specks. “We can discuss contestants tomorrow then. Wonderful. Oh, great!”
I had to swallow a chuckle at her obvious excitement. We agreed on a place to meet and I watched her leave out of the corner of my eye while heading toward the ice.
Like I said, I liked her ass.
My thoughts
This was a wonderful start to a new series.
The characters had just the right amount of angst and the chemistry between the H/h was off the charts.
Caleb and Sydney try desperately to fight it, but in the end Sydney realizes you only live once.
What I really liked about this story was that even though Caleb and Sydney come from two different worlds, and they don't have a whole lot in common - they're perfect for one another.
They complimented one another in every way, and their greatest challenge is trying to figure out how they can make their relationship work when all the odds are against them.
I look forward to reading more work by this author, and I can't wait to read the next book in the series (Caleb has a lot of siblings).

Mignon is a twenty-something (…getting awfully close to thirty-something) who resides in Wisconsin. An avid reader since her preschool days, she ‘blames’ her mother for teaching her to read during that all-important time during a forming brain. Some of her earlier memories of reading include her mother buying her a book at the mall — and finishing the book before they even returned home.
Writing happened soon after the reading started. Her first writing piece can be found in a box of other important papers from growing up. It’s about an apple who was her friend, but she had to eat.
The first series Mignon started to write was about a close family of one brother and his three younger sisters. I haven't read a book with the theme of a dating show before. I picked this up because it was about a hockey hottie called Caleb Prescott. He finds himself agreeing to participate in a TV show where he is the guy choosing from 20 gorgeous girls all vying for his attention. When you read the book you can really see how this is so NOT a typical thing for Caleb to do. He only does it because his attention is peaked by a pretty redheaded show casting assistant, Sydney.
I really liked both their characters. Caleb falls hard for her and Sydney cautiously gives her heart to him. But outside meddling occurs and hearts get seriously bruised.
This is a sexy, funny , sweet read and I think I'm now a little addicted to the Prescott family. I would have liked more about Syd's family though.
Why not 5 stars? Syd was quick to give up at times and I wanted her to be a bit more....believing/ resilient.
Really enjoyable book with a good story, interesting characters, lots of sexy and romantic elements plus the promise of so much more to come from the Prescott's.

When I read the blurb for this I expected there to be a lot of angst and heartbreak. I think I always go into sports books expecting a really alpha, man-whore, player type of guy who acts a little like god’s gift to all women but redeems himself throughout the book. And when I read about the game show angle I was even more convinced that was what I was going to get.
And while I have read a few romance novels based on dating show themes I can say this one was entirely not what I expected. I figured there would be a lot of drama and angst based on the women competing for Caleb’s attention and maybe a few issues from his past. You know the normal sort of thing that has you tied up in knots wondering how they are going to sort this out or get over it and have their happily ever after.
I am so over the moon that I got none of that. This book was free of all the normal cliché drama and I loved every second. It was just a really sweet, feel good romance that I could lose myself in. And the reason for this is simply Caleb. Damn was he the sort of man I hope my daughter grows up and falls for. He was just utter perfection with amazing stick control ;) You know hockey sticks.
Sydney was a whole other matter but, oh my god did she get on my nerves. But you know what I could completely sympathise with her thought process. I mean here is this amazing, caring, thoughtful, sexy, successful star athlete who has a cruise ship full of his exact type of perfect women who all want nothing more than to throw themselves on his hockey stick and they are the exact physical opposite of her. So I could forgive her insecurities and give her a break but damn Sydney tie this amazing man to your bed and keep him already.
I seriously had a very pleasant surprise with this book and I am hoping the rest of the family will get their stories soon as I could happily spend a few more hours fully immersed in all things Prescott.

Sydney is a hard working college girl. She's been asked to recruit Caleb Prescott, world famous hockey player, for a new dating show. She's never heard of Caleb and isn't a hockey fan. On their first meeting they are instantly attracted to one another but Sydney has a job to do. Caleb however puts a condition on doing the show. Sydney must spend the first week on the cruise ship before the contestants arrive. Caleb's got one week to win her heart. But what happens when Sydney has to leave? Or will Sydney find herself right in the middle of the action.
If I didn't know this was Mignon Mykel's first novel I never would have believed I was reading a first novel from a new author. This book is absolutely amazing. I loved every single second of it so much that I read it twice. It's fun. We all need a fun novel to get lost in. I loved Caleb. He's a family guy, hot, and a most eligible bachelor. Sydney is a hard working, always trying to do her best at everything. She can not possible be attracted to Caleb. He's about to be on a dating show and meet the girls she personally picked for casting. She's so far away from his type as he described it to her. Interference by Mignon Mykel is a sexy sports romance with a twist. Sidney, soon to be college graduate, gets an amazing opportunity to co-cast a reality dating show. When given the task to get star NHL player Noah 'Caleb' Prescott to star in the project Sidney doesn't blink twice and convinces Caleb to sign on. Caleb is blown away by the pushy red head Sidney. The last thing he ever thought he'd be doing in the off season is a reality dating show but getting a chance to spend time with Sidney is Caleb's main goal. Can you fall in love in under a week? Caleb doesn't think so but real life is starting to surprise him.
I loved this novel! I couldn't put it down and lost sleep over it. I read a lot of sports romances and found this story refreshing and original. Told in two parts in duel POV this fast paced novel will keep you glued to the page chapter after chapter. Caleb is completely swoon worthy! Man, we all need a Caleb in our lives. Sidney is sweet and confidant and doesn't hold back but has concerns which are valid and you really feel for her. This was my first read from Mignon Mykel and I immediately went and grabbed "From The Begining" 0.5 in the series but I can't wait to see which Prescott sibling we will read about next! 5 Stars for Interference by Mignon Mykel

I loved this novel! I couldn't put it down and lost sleep over it. I read a lot of sports romances and found this story refreshing and original. Told in two parts in duel POV this fast paced novel will keep you glued to the page chapter after chapter. Caleb is completely swoon worthy! Man, we all need a Caleb in our lives. Sidney is sweet and confidant and doesn't hold back but has concerns which are valid and you really feel for her. This was my first read from Mignon Mykel and I immediately went and grabbed "From The Begining" 0.5 in the series but I can't wait to see which Prescott sibling we will read about next! 5 Stars for Interference by Mignon Mykel

I got the ARC of this amazing book in exchange for an honest review and I have to say… I really loved it ;) yeah, I had some small… like really tiny issues along the way with it, but ultimately it was soooo much fun to read ;) although I fell like the synopsis may be a bit misleading… but I will get to that detail later ;) you may or may not know this about me, but I absolutely love hockey players ;) they are my favourite kind of athletes to read about… what’s funny is the fact that I have never, in my entire life, watched a hockey game… ;) I don’t really know all the rules either, but somehow I absolutely adore reading about the players in books ;) don’t ask me why, this love cannot be explained logically… ;) so now that we have this little confession out of the way, let me tell you more about the actual details of the book ;)
I need to start with the main couple ;) because honestly people… I loved them both ;) equally, I have to add, which does not happen often… ;) usually I have a softer spot for the hero or the heroine, but in this case… they were both really fantastic ;) but of course I need to start with the recipient of my illogical love of hockey players… Caleb ;) *sighs dreamily* what can I tell you about him… ;) besides that he was dreamy, obviously… ;) he was just the type of hero I love to read about ;) confident, but not arogant, funny in a bit sarcastic way with a surprisingly swoony side… *sighs yet again over the awesomeness of Caleb* ;) and of course I can’t forget about Sydney ;) she was a great character as well ;) determined and focused on reaching her goals, but not so much, that she forgets to actually live her life… ;) but what I loved the most about her is the fact that she had a little bit of a hidden side ;) she was fun and everything, but with Caleb, once she got to know him better, she felt free and secure enough to show him this absolutely sassy and sexy side that I did not expect to see ;) I love those kind of surprises… those totally unexpected glimpses into the characters… ;)
Now about them together… ;) when I said that the synopsis is a bit misleading, I truly mean just that… only a bit ;) it’s not like the book is entirely about something else ;) so maybe let me clarify ;) she does recruit him to start in a dating show, but he doesn’t press for her to be a part of it… since the show is suppose to be filmed during a cruise, he insists for her to be a part of his initial week, the one he spends alone, without the contestants… and my oh my, what a week it is… ;) some of you may say, that it’s impossible to form something meaningful in only a handful of days, but to all of you I say… Caleb thought exactly the same thing ;) and I know this is a book and work of fiction and all that, but really think about it… they were spending basically the whole days together… so it was definitely a bit faster way than usual to get to know each other… ;) either way, I absolutely loved their interactions ;) the conversations, all the fun adventures, sarcastic banter and the chemistry… oh the chemistry between them was definitely there… ;) but to even things out, there were also moments when they were just too cute together ;) theirs is definitely an entertaining relationship to read about ;)
Of ourse there were also secondary characters in this story ;) our main couple is definitely the focus of the book, as they should be, but there are a few people I would love to mention you ;) both Caleb and Sydney come from really amazing families… which does not happen as often as you think in books… ;) or maybe just in the ones I’ve been reading lately ;) she has three older brothers, and he is one of six siblings ;) so there’s definitely potential for future stories wherever you look ;) I’m not gonna give you any names, mainly because there were too many of them and if I would start to say a bit about all of them, we would be here all day… seriously ;) so instead of doing that, just trust me when I say that there were lots of fun and very interesting characters… ;)
I had sooo much fun reading this book :) those tiny issues I mentioned before? it's basically one small thing... ;) the way Sydney reacts at something... but that's pretty much it... one thing in the whole book is basically nothing :) another thing I absolutely loved in this book is 2 POVs :) by know you should remember how much I adore when I can get glimpses into both minds of our main characters :) and especially if they are as fun as Caleb and Sydney :) the writing style was so great, that the chapters absolutely flew by... before I knew what was happening, I was finishing the book :) so if you are looking for a story that will make you laugh and sigh in all the right moments... with wonderful main characters... if you want to spend a few hours reading something fun and entertaining, then definitely give this book a try :)

This is my second read from Mignon Mykel and my second taste of a Prescott man. There are many Hockey Romance series out there but this one is unique. Unique because it revolves around one family of hockey players but also because Mykel writes in a style that lends an old school kind of charm and sweetness that you just don’t find in contemporary romance anymore.
Caleb is not a typical hockey star. He’s not cocky or rude. He doesn’t have an overinflated ego and he’s not a manwhore. Instead he’s a gentleman with oodles of charm. Plenty flirtatious but also extremely respectful. There isn’t much drama to be had in this book. It’s not dripping with angst or tension between characters that could have been avoided. Instead Mykel keeps you turning pages with her interesting plot and fantastic characters.
Interference is one of those reads that you can relax into and just be carried away by a sweet romance between two loveable characters. That is not to say that these two didn’t have their fair share of obstacles to overcome, or that it wasn’t sexy. Because let me tell you, Mignon Mykel certainly brought the steam and under Caleb’s gentlemanly exterior lies the filthy mouth and dominance of a beast.
All in all this was a very well rounded, feel-good read that I would recommend to any romance fan looking for a sweet and easy read.

When Sydney gets the call from her part time job that they want her to do the casting, she is thrilled a reality show though, not so much. Regardless, she decides she is going to do the job to the best of her ability and first off is getting their number one choice Caleb Prescott to sign on as the bachelor.
Caleb has no interest in being the prize for a dating show, that is until he meets Sydney and he blurts a yes. The one condition, get Sydney on the ship for a week before shooting begins. Sydney and Caleb form a fast friendship that quickly builds into something more. Caleb doesn't want anyone else but Sydney, Sydney knows Caleb has to honor his contract. Torn between what they want and what they have to do is a struggle neither planned for, can they ride it out or will it destroy them?
Loved this, I liked that they had a slow build up for Caleb and Sydney Sydney was such a fun character she surprises Caleb at every turn. Caleb isn't your typical jock and I loved th efamily dynamic on both sides. Highly entertaining, perfect end of he summer read.

I am so incredibly excited to bring Caleb's story to life! I first came up with it December 10, 2008. How do I know this? My aunt got married on the first day of our cruise, 12/8/08. I walked the decks with my cousin Nikki, trying to figure out Caleb's book exactly, and what order the other siblings would be. There were also a number of other books that were meant to be written on Noah's time playing with the NHL Enforcers, but Noah and Ryleigh's kids wanted books much more than Noah's teammates did.
I hope you love Caleb and Syd as much as I do; and I hope that the little bit extra you get from the other Prescotts has you ready for more!

I really liked this Hockey Player romance. Assistant TV promoter convinces a Hockey player to do a Bachelor show on a cruise ship. I was hooked, i loved athlete romances. Hockey player falls for Promoter before the show even airs. BOOKS in 3 parts. I got bored in part 2. Pt1 is PRE-Bachelor show pt2 is Bachelor show/cruise. Could have stopped at pt1. By pt 2 the show starts, he wants nothing to do with the girls, they bring on the TV promoter as one of the girls. All he wants to do is be with her. Kind of like what's the purpose of the cruise and show at that point. idk. BUT REALLY LIKED PART ONE. THAT WAS WORTH THE READ.

I absolutely loved this book!
While there isn't really much hockey in this story the love story between Caleb and Sydney is awesome. I found myself so engrossed in the book that I finished it in one sitting.
Can't wait to read more of the Prescott Family and see what else Mignon comes up with.

I have to admit Interference caught my eye with two words in its synopsis: hockey player. I cannot resist a romance with a hockey player as one of the main characters. Hockey romances are one of my favorites! That's pretty funny considering I don't even follow hockey, but there's just something about them.
Interference was different from other hockey romances I've read. Instead of revolving around a college or professional hockey season setting, it took place in the off-season. There weren't really any game scenes. The book mostly took place on a cruise ship. I've only read a couple of other books taking place on a cruise ship and Interference was by far my favorite. I think that was because of another super fun aspect of the book -- the reality TV show.
Caleb, a famous hockey player, was approached by casting assistant Sydney to star in a new reality dating T.V. show. Caleb's not really interested in participating or finding the perfect mate, but he finds himself unable to say no to Sydney. There's something about the petite redhead that does something to him.
The more Caleb gets to know Sydney, the more he doesn't want to do the reality show. But with no other choice, he's forced to "date" all of the women Sydney chose for him that are supposed to be "his type".
I absolutely loved the reality show aspect of this book and how it shaped Sydney and Caleb's relationship. It added a humorous aspect and I loved how it painted the world of reality dating shows. I could imagine this whole scenario taking place in real life. There were so many barriers to them having a long-term relationship. I loved all the drama that came with the reality dating show.
Caleb was a fun male love interest. Not only was he a sexy hockey star, but he was a good guy. He was nice and respectful. I loved his close family dynamic. It totally cemented his good guy status. Sydney was also a great character. She was a career driven women who was both smart and beautiful.
Caleb and Sydney's relationship was so much fun to watch unfold.The only thing that bugged me a bit about their romance was the amount of insta-love in the beginning. It was a little hard to believe that Caleb and Sydney would be so connected to each other after a week. The author tried to dispel my disbelief of the situation with a great point by Caleb's dad, but it still seemed a little out there to me.
Interference was a really fun contemporary romance. It had three things I love in a love story: a hockey player, a cute romance and an interesting plot. I would highly recommend it to contemporary romance readers. It would be a great book to end your summer vacation with.

GUYS! I cried. Well, technically, I teared up but Mignon Mykel brought liquid from my eyes! It is a running joke that I have a black heart and don’t get affected by books very easily. Well, Mignon, you did it! You have me choking up and I produced a few real tears! Interference kept my heart racing ( in more ways than one but we will get to that!) and kept me silenting praying to the book gods.
Caleb Prescott is all male and all hockey, all the time. He lives, eats, and breathes hockey, hockey, and more hockey. His close knit family is also very involved in the sport, but Caleb wants no distractions. Unfortunately for him, he meets one Sydney Meadows whenever she is assigned to convince him to become the star of a dating game show. Sydney in all her red haired, organizational glory gets the job done, but not without a few bumps in the road. Enter stage left a.k.a. bumps in the road, some big ole whopping feelings for the one guy she is assigned to find Mrs. Right.
I truly loved this book. I could not put it down after the 25% mark. Not only was there so much going on between Caleb and Sydney, I felt that the book actually held a good plot and I wanted to know what was going on around them. Not just in their relationship. I fell so hard for the man that Caleb was and all that he stood for, envious does not even begin to describe how I feel when I think of Sydney. I’m telling you right now, no book in a long while has made me feel like Interference has and I could not be more thrilled! Not to mention the sex scenes were on FIYAH! Lemme tell ya something, my friend. Hockey players have got it going on.

I thought the premise of this one sounded really interesting, with an athlete being convinced to do a dating show, but falling for the casting assistant before the show. There were parts that I really liked and then other parts that I had trouble connecting with or felt like dragged a bit. This story is told in first person, dual POV. Neither were virgins and I don't think it was said how long it's been. No om drama and yes, the H is around ow for the dating show, but he does nothing more than a cheek kiss here and there (despite pressure), although some of the ladies do grope at him against his will. He was celibate though after meeting the h and then only with her.
I liked both main characters and I liked them together, but I never felt this intense chemistry between them. I loved their families and how each was close to their parents and siblings. Both were pretty down to earth and just nice people, but sometimes I wanted them to be more assertive with what they wanted. There was plenty of steamy scenes and a variety of positions, plus a bit of size difference discussed since she's much smaller than him. There's no other drama besides whether they will or won't be together. The story ends with a bit of a time jump and their HEA, but the author has a note at the end also mentioning that these characters make appearances in other books in her overall world so get to be re-visited as side characters, which is sweet.

This one was a sweet read but also just an okay read for me. First I am super picky about hockey romances, and this one really fell short on the hockey feel for me. Yes this book takes place mainly in the off season, an off season just after Caleb's team win's the Stanley cup but the books starts off in April and then later picks up in June, leaving a chunk of time left, a chunk of time that could have had some hockey scenes from both POV's written and it could have really made this book actually feel like a hockey romance.
Second this book was basically the Bachelor on a boat with Sydney adding a twist to the scenario. And I am a lover of that show but this one truly fell flat for me. I really loved Caleb's character and I loved his family but I truly struggled to enjoy the story, it was kind of cheesy for my liking in parts.
Overll just an okay read, glad I pre-purchased and only paid $.99, for that price it wasn't a bad read but for me this one definitely wasn't a sports romance, it was a reality TV romance that the key character was a hockey player but there was no actual hockey feel to the book at all for me.

What a great read. Amazing storyline with lots of feels. This is a great series with amazing characters. Love reading a series with lots of family dynamics. Can't wait for the next instalment of Prescotts.

Noah Caleb Prescott is a very talented hockey player. In fact, most of his family plays hockey professionally and are all very talented. He’s in such a good place professionally and personally so he has no plans to settle down right away. Plus, having a partner would just complicate things, he’d be traveling all over the world and his girlfriend or wife would be stuck at home. He never minded his childhood when his dad would be away skating but he knew that his parents loved each other so much that distance would never be an issue with them. He has dated, but has never found someone to love, as much as his parents love one another, which is what he is really wanting in his life.
Sydney Meadows is finishing her film degree and is interning at a casting company. Her first job is to recruit Caleb and cast 20 fresh faced girls to go on a new reality show, set on a luxury cruise liner. The show is going to be called “Beauty” and it’s similar to “The Bachelor” where Caleb will go on dates with the woman and send someone away at the end of the night. Sydney is so excited for the opportunity, and gets on a plane right away to meet with Caleb to try to get him to agree. Caleb really doesn’t want to do the show, but agrees to meet Sydney for coffee so she can at least pitch the idea to him, and he’s surprised at how attracted he is to her. She’s not his usual type, she’s short, about 5’3”, with red curly hair, freckles on her nose, and while not a stick, she does have pretty good assets. He agrees to do the show only if he and Sydney can have the week before filming to be on the ship to get to know each other. Sydney is surprised but doesn’t think anything is going to happen, since the girls she casted are close to supermodel types and figures after he sees them, he’ll ditch her. However, during the week they are together, their attraction for one another builds until they can’t and don’t want to stay away from each other.
I absolutely loved this story. Even though they do have an instant attraction, it’s not insta-love. They get to know each other, they go on dates, and they hang out and just enjoy each other’s company. I do wish though that there were most aspects of the show included. The show seemed to be a big part in the beginning, but it’s mostly pushed into the background after the filming is supposed to start. There could have been a lot of catfights, and behind the scenes issues but there wasn’t really anything major that happened with it. However I do realize it’s a love story first and foremost. Caleb and Sydney are both great characters, and seem like real genuine people. I completely devoured this story and read it in one day and highly recommend it if you want a quick yet highly entertaining story.

This book is so good. I devoured it in one day because it’s refreshing reading a sports romance where the athlete isn’t a tool or playboy.
Caleb wants nothing to do with the reality show that Sydney is trying to set him up in as part of her intern job, but agrees to it when he realizes he might not see her again…
I loved this premise because it was done in a tasteful way. It wasn’t all I need to own her and possess her. It was a guy admitting he wants a solid relationship like his parents and thinking it impossible to fall in love with someone in such a short time. The beauty is that they take the time to learn about each other, can have those deep conversation. Do like sex with each other? Sure, but they are just as content lying next to each other and talking.
Sydney, there were some moments where I did not like her because you knew what you were getting yourself into so don’t blame Caleb if it starts to get rough. What I do love about her is that she’s not afraid to go after what she wants and she has insecurities. Also love that she’s my height and small chested because finally (don’t get me wrong there’s nothing wrong with tall, model like, big breasts females, but sometimes a girl needs to know she can get the guy even if she doesn’t have the full package).
I won’t say much more because I want people to enjoy the journey, but if you love sports romances, dating shows, forbidden love, sexy times, and close knit families you will love this book.

I happened across this book on a Facebook post when it was free on Amazon. I hadn't heard of the author before, but the cover looked like a cute contemporary romance so I downloaded it.
What I didn't expect was for Interference to hold my attention as well as it did--to the point where I did nothing but spend the day with Caleb and Sydney. So yeah, I have a bone to pick with the author because now I'm really behind on my essay deadlines for uni!
Anyway, Interference was a great read. I loved the setting and reality TV element, but most of all I loved the chemistry and banter between Syd and Caleb. Their humour was on point and they felt like they'd known each other a lifetime rather than weeks and months.
Caleb wasn't the typical playboy athlete. It was refreshing to read about a guy who wasn't a man-whore. I loved his loyalty to Syd, and combined with his love of his family, he just seemed like a real genuine and good guy.
As for the story, the majority of it was sweet. There were some hotter, steamy moments, but their romance was just a feel-good one that made me smile. I got swept up along with the cruise and I didn't what to come back to the real world.
Overall I'd highly recommend this book and I can't wait for more. Although I would have liked Jonny's story next, I'll settle for Porter because it means more Prescott boys.

A really good take on contemporary romance, I really enjoyed Caleb and Sydney's journey. Mignon has done a very good job of keeping the reader fully engaged in the story and wondering how it will work out. Great read!
