Run for the hills—temporarily. That's Colbie Albright's plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie's so over it that she's under it. She's also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunate

Joy No, but it sometimes enhances the book b/c you know the backstory of the other characters. This can definitely be read on its own, though.
Karla Brandenburg Haters gonna hate. I agree that it isn't as fast moving as some of the others, but definitely not to a 2 star pace!

Chasing Christmas Eve - Jill Shalvis

Chasing Christmas Eve is book four in the Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalvis. I have loved this series from the start. This small community of people that live and work in this small courtyard in San Francisco have become part of my family. I was so excited to finally get Spence’s story and it was amazing. He is everything I hoped he would be and so much more.

Chasing Christmas Eve by Jill Shalvis is a 2017 Avon publication.

A light, slightly offbeat, and humorous holiday tale set in romantic San Francisco.

This fourth installment in the Heartbreaker Bay series features two adorable socially awkward workaholics, in Colbie and Spencer, who literally take a fall… right into the ‘Make a Wish’ fountain.

Colbie is a famous Young Adult author experiencing a case of writer’s block, under a hard and a looming deadline, who needs a break from all the pressure a

I've read a lot of Jill Shalvis' series but I have to say that this is by far my favorite from her. She brings together a close group of friends flawlessly and makes me fall in love with each character. In Chasing Christmas Eve we get to learn more about Spencer Baldwin, the workaholic of the group.

Spencer is introverted and usually working instead of out having fun. But when he meets Colbie, a fellow workaholic, he learns to that taking a break is a necessity. Bot

Sometimes you don’t need to chase love

I really do believe that finding your perfect match doesn’t just involve love, lust and attraction. I think that tolerance is one of the biggest components of a successful relationship. You can be seriously attracted to someone but the smell of their feet will turn you off. Sexual attraction can be rampant but their constant humming could send you over the edge. Loving someone who is good and kind could mean absolutely nothing if they pick

Colbie Albright is a 28 yr. old woman living in New York. She's a best selling YA fantasy series author who is at the peak of her success. She's been under too much pressure with work & her family, & feels overwhelmed and tired. She just needs to get away from her stressful life for a while & find herself again. She's lost her joy & her love of writing. She's hoping if she unplugs for a few weeks she will find her inspiration again. She packs a bag and gets on a plane to

A Jill Shalvis book basically takes me to my reading happy place. The Heartbreaker Bay series is definitely one that’s a keeper, and each new addition to it, makes it even more so.

Spence’s book has been a long time coming, quite elusive in personality, he endeared himself to me pretty early on, because you know this is a guy who values his friends, so much so that they are pretty much his family as well.

I have a weakness for smart, sexy nerds with glasses so obviously I have been very fascinated by Spencer Baldwin since the first moment he was introduced. With his dry wit and quiet demeanour, how he believed that he couldn’t have love and success, I just wanted to hug him. I loved how he wasn’t your usual alpha hero, he was sweet and just very sexy.

I love quirky heroines and Colbie Albright was just adorable with her ability to laugh at herself. I also loved that she was a writer, which was a

I feel like there should be Jill Shalvis books in every travel agencies or at least on every airlines counters. Wherever this author decides to set her stories at, like here in the beautiful San Francisco bay, I can be sure it’ll become my next vacation plan and dream like location. She has a knack for setting up and depicting beautiful places I yearn to visit in each new series she releases.

As a San Francisco native, I adore reading stories that are set in my beloved city and in Jill Shalvis’ latest release, Chasing Christmas Eve, she paints a vivid image of San Francisco’s Cow Hollow District where two strangers meet and begin an unlikely friendship of landlord/tenant and two friends finding a home within each other.

I love this series and pretty much everything Jill Shalvis writes, so this was a no brainer. But I've been especially excited for Spence's story.

Love love love Colbie and Spence. She's sort of flighty and he's sort of stand off-ish and together they're workaholics with family issues and a boat load of chemistry. I adored their interactions and reading them trying to figure out how relationships work.

Plot wise, it was almost all fluff and I sort of wanted to roll around in it. As always, it's g

In the fourth book of the Heartbreaker Bay series, Jill Shalvis turns back to the trope and theme that I think she is most comfortable with. The heroine, Colbie Albright, is a little down on her luck. In an effort to change her life, she flees New York for San Francisco on a whim. She hasn’t really planned on what she is going to do there but she naturally finds herself in a strange situation within the arms of a stranger.

Review by Suzanne www.ireadnovels.wordpress.com Twitter@favouritenovels I really enjoyed reading Chasing Christmas Eve as I was born three days before Christmas. The Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalvis has a bit of whimsy (a wishing fountain with a legendary coin toss for true love) to go with some sexy romances – some more lighthearted than others, but all involving a group of friends finding lifelong partners.

Chasing Christmas Eve is the fourth full novel in the series and the hero Spence has been a key secondary character in previous stories. He’s the somewhat reclusive owner of the building where his friends live and work, a very wealthy man who

Chasing Christmas Eve was such a charming story! While it can read as a standalone, it did leave me wanting to go back and see how the coupled friends ended up together. Especially since this is my first Jill Shalvis book and I was a little obsessed with another couple Elle and Archer. Spencer Baldwin is the resident millionaire tech geek. He is successful and highly focused on business, but his track record with romance is not good. He is pretty sure that he is meant to just be a successful engineer, inventor, and businessman, and that he cannot do well at both work and love. But due to some recent publicity there is no shortage of women wanting to land this hot geek and he is unwillingly one of the city's hottest bachelors. Spence and Colbie meet on the legendary fountain when Spence practically pushed Colbie into it -- well, it's the dog's fault, but still... *grin*. Spence then takes Colbie to stay at his building when Colbie says she needs temporary place to stay while she is working on her writing (psst, Spence doesn't know that Colbie is a famous YA author, okay? Elle produced a pocketknife.
