Dirty cocktails, deadly enemies with a red-hot attraction, and one big, crazy, Greek family--what could possibly go wrong?

Hiring my brother's best friend was not on my to-do list.
Neither was he.

Expanding my dirty cocktail bar into food was supposed to be easy, except finding a chef in my little town of Whiskey Key is anything

➦This is a pretty enjoyable enemies to lovers romance with a whole bunch of entertaining banter and funny moments.

➦The heroine is an owner of a lounge which she decides to also turn into a restaurant. The only problem she can't seem to find a competent chef to run the kitchen. Long story short, she has no choice but to employ her brother's best friend, who also happens to be her arch nemesis.

➦I enjoyed the drink/food aspect of the story, it was interesting. The heroine comes up with really nau

Emma Hart has readers drunk in love with her newest romantic comedy, Mixed Up. Hart indeed concocts a new kind of romance with her sassy and vibrant characters that makes a big splash onto the pages as she has readers like myself intoxicated with her fresh writing. With her wicked sense of humor, Hart mixed up a love story that combines friendship, banter, family, and good times.

FUCKING brilliant! One of the BEST enemies-to-lovers romances I've read this year!

Does Emma Hart ever give us a plain love story? HELL NO! She puts her whole self in every book she writes and you can feel it with every single turn of the page. MIXED UP was EVERYTHING a sexy, hilarious, banter-filled romance should be and SO MUCH MORE! At the very beginning, my whole heart was in Parker and Raven's story. These two were a trip and a half! The jabs and insults kept coming with every turn of the pa

Overall, this was a cute, light read. It was nothing special from all the other romance books I've read but it was alright.

But for a book that evolved around the best friend's sister trope, I felt that it was pretty weak. I didn't really care for Ryan because we barely got to see him interact with either of the main characters nor did he show any sort of overprotectiveness towards Raven that would give any indication that he would be fuming if he ever found out about her relationship with Parker

“I’d spent my entire life hating her, yet now, here I was, falling in love with her.”

Raven and Parker have been enemies for over 20 years. Neither expects the attraction they feel after seeing each other for the first time in 4 years. But the sparks flew when they finally acknowledge the connection!

What I enjoyed: Both main characters. Raven is feisty, headstrong, and tough as nails. Parker is cocky, sweet, sexy, and goes after what he wants. I enjoyed them both.

I love Emma Hart. Her books are always the perfect balance of funny, sweet, emotional and hot.

Parker has been best friends with Raven’s older brother their whole lives, their mothers are best friends and live next door to each other yet they can’t be in the same room without fighting like cats and dogs. This is how it’s been their whole lives. When Raven has a staff shortage her only solution is to hire Parker to run her kitchen.

As they spend more time together the sexual tension between the tw

I would label Mixed Up as a summertime beach read. It's hot and relaxing with a lot of flirting and friendly fighting (usually at the same time). Also, it has many cocktails recipes ;)

Raven and Parker had hated each other since they were kids. But now they are adults forced to work together. Raven owns a cocktail bar and she is in need of a chef. Parker - her brother's best friend - is 'willing' to help her. As a favor to her brother, of course. His help has certainly got

Parker and Raven are enemies. Always have been. But when Raven needs a chef for her bar Dirty, she has no other option but to hire Parker, her brother’s best friend.

Parker and Raven have great banter. It was very entertaining when they would bicker, which was most of the time. Even when they started to feel things other than hate for each other. The story was very entertaining and interesting as Raven’s crazy family was in town. This pushed them to work together and become more.

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I read Emma Hart for the first time this year and she is proving to be quite the master at writing romantic comedy. Mixed Up was well mixed up; long time enemies turn to frenemies and more in this rip roaring hilarious story that was fun to read.

Raven Archer is a successful mixologist and owner of the bar Dirty where she happily creates drinks with you guessed it suggestive, dirty names. She’s a big of a workaholic and adding a kitchen and food menu to her bar is only adding to her plate especi

Of course when the book is an enemies to lovers, it's an auto buy for me, but when it's written by Emma Hart don't even have the words to describe my feelings.

Raven hated Parker and Parker hated Raven even more.

After the boatload of stories that churn out angsty pages of a woman pining for her brother's best friend, "Mixed Up" bulldozes its way in and quite boldly goes where few authors have gone before. What is the brother's best mate is in fact, an enemy of sorts and has been for years? What if, the dislike really isn't a veiled attempt at annoying the girl or boy you secretly like? What if the dislike is real, up until the point where close quarters makes both parties re-evaluate what they know of e ...more

Did I read the same book as everyone else? What was that rushed ending? If it wasn't for the epilogue, I would have thought I read an unfinished copy of Mixed Up. I was beyond shocked when I turned to the next page and found it was the epilogue. I was so disappointed.

descriptionI expected a lot of things at the start of this summer. Hiring Parker wasn't one of them— and falling in love with him definitely wasn't. I was the mixologist, but there was no doubt at all that he'd come home and mixed up my world.

I really did enjoy this book. The enemies-to-lovers and my brother/sister's best friend trope is one of my favourites and Emma Hart does a fantastic job depicting this in Mixed Up. Raven Archer and Parker Hamilton have hated each other for as long as they've known each other. It's gotten to the point where their families separate them so that no blood is shed. The banter between the two of them was witty, fast and feisty. Raven especially had creative insults. She was a brilliant mixologist and ...more

Mixed Up was freaking amazing. I loved every single aspect of the story. I can’t even begin to explain my love for these characters. That’s exactly how I love the characters to be, a heroine who is strong, sassy and savage mixed with gentleness and a hero who can take as much as he can give.

Mixed Up is about Parker and Raven who had been enemies their whole life. When Raven’s Greek family are due to come in town for a family reunion, she is in dire need of a chef. When her brother sug

My Thoughts

Mixed Up is a standalone contemporary romance by Emma Hart. I read, and really enjoyed Being Brooke, another one of Emma's contemporary romances. I thought Being Brooke was hilarious and I was really looking forward to seeing if Mixed Up was as sassy and fun as Being Brooke. Sometimes for me, the true test of an author is to read two or three different standalones or series, and see if I enjoy all of them. If I do,
