Samantha Wilde will do anything to be seen as a serious reporter. She's tired of writing articles about blemish concealer or why Goldie Hawn has aged so well. She now has her chance. Go down to Black Fall's and find out who killed Johnny Fox, ex-VP of the Black Skulls MC.
When she goes undercover and meets Asa Boone she gets in way over her head. The tattooed, intense, muscled biker is utterly delicious in every way possible and the best sex of her life. One taste and she's addicted. She needs more. But she know's that Asa is hiding something and when she finds out the truth she has to make the most important decision of her life. Completely destroy the man she has fallen for or be recognized as the reporter she has always craved.
Kylie Walker is from a small city north of Toronto, Ontario. She loves to write contemporary romance with a whole lot of steam and suspense that will keep you guessing and wanting more!
Asa was the first book in the Black Skulls MC series by Kylie Walker. It was also my first book by the author.
Samantha was a fashion reporter for the Las Vegas paper. She wanted to be an investigative reporter and write about something that mattered. A body was just found in the desert that was believed to be the remains from a Black Skull VP that disappeared ten years ago. Samantha wanted to uncover the truth.
Asa was the top Sergeant At Arms for the Black Skulls. He was known for loyalty to his club and ruthlessness to everyone else. He wasn’t someone to cross but Samantha decided he would be key to her investigation.
I liked the premise of the story - investigating the murder of an MC patched member. I also liked that Walker tackled some tough abuse and sexual issues, but beware, they can be triggers for some. With that said, I wasn’t a huge fan of the beginning or the interactions between Asa and Samantha. For a more realistic perspective, I desired more build up and storyline development before diving into the type of relationship that was portrayed.
All said, it was a quick and entertaining read. Kyle, Asa’s best friend, is up next.

ASA: BLACK SKULLS MC The rating is deserved but I am split on the leading characters. Asa Boone the sexy biker in the Black Skulls was a treat to read. His character was wicked in all the right places and compassionate when needed. I really felt for this character because this character got stuck with an annoying heroine. Why is Sam annoying?Well, if you've ever encountered someone who you have adviced not to do something and then they do it anyway ... repeatedly. That was the heroine, the one who would give a light socket a wet willy after you've told her it could/would kill her. She a reporter who is setting out to get the story that would make her career but she was extra for no reason.
This was my first time reading this author. I was pleasantly surprised. I liked the reporter angle in the telling of the story. Looking forward to continuing the series.
I can write what I want on here because it's not Amazon..... one word. DAMN! I just love any and all MC stories, all that I've come across so far. Whether it's erotic, your nomoral romance, or dark. I love them all. Asa is a mystery to reporter Samantha Wilde. No picture or anything concrete. It seems a ride to Death Falls it is, if she's to get anything at all about this new ground breaking story that's hitting all the papers. What she doesn't realize, she may have a plan to get the information she needs with perhaps a flick of her hair and the sway of her hips. Her biggest two problem is her big ever talking mouth and her always over working mind. And the fact she just set a fire under a couple MCs to find out who killed who. Will she stay alive long enough to find the answers?
Samantha Wilde is a reporter and on her way to the first news worthy story. The bones of the missing president of the Black Skull MC has been found in the desert with a bullet to his head. Sam is following leads to a small town where the Black Skulls club reside and she's ready to find answers and Asa is the one who she sets her sights on the get the answers. Asa is the Sargent of arms to the Black Skulls and son of the now President of the club. He was born into the club and has proved himself every day that he is loyal, but he has secrets that only one or two know. Now he has Sam asking questions that could be deadly for him and he wants Sam for himself.
The story is written with lots of twists and dirty talking and filthy sex.
This is the first book in a new series by Kylie Walker, titled The Black Skulls MC. I absolutely have to recommend this story, it was sexy hot and precarious. This first issue is about a sexy hot biker named ASA Boone and Samantha Wilde, a journalist looking for her big break. She tries to go undercover to investigate a murder and .........NO SPOILERS HERE!!!! The plot is full of suspense, secrets, mystery, danger, hot bikers, little of humor, steamy sex and an awesome final. I was hooked right from the beginning and I'm looking forward to reading about the other great MC characters in this new series.
This is the first book in a new MC series by Kylie Walker called “ASA”. Samantha is a reporter looking for a big break that will launch her reporting career and it looks like she finds it when the bones of an MC member are discovered. She smells a huge story so she gets her boss to let her on this story only he demands results. Samantha decides to to infiltrate the Black Skulls MC to get the information this way. She meets Asa and he knows there is something “off” about her, something not right. He tries to prevent her from staying by scaring her off , only this makes her more determined to stay to get info. Lets just say when Asa and Sam get together sexually for the first time, its very rough and hard. Sam isn’t sure what she is doing but this woman is tough. There are many twists and turns that I didn’t see comng. At first, Asa came off as this rough and scary MC biker but he is one surprise. Then, with Asa’s help, Samantha discovers the truth about the club member’s death. But will she be able to make it out alive and keep Asa alive too. There is a lot of suspense, mystery, passion, danger and intense sexual chemistry in this story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The only thing that I found somewhat off is how the story ended. It seemed to end in a HFN ending and I didn’t know if Samantha and Asa are in a HEA or not. I would love to know how they are doing so since this is the start of a new series, maybe there will be a follow up story to book 1. Otherwise, this was a perfect start to a new series.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Wow, looking at all these 5 star reviews makes me wonder if I read the copy the author threw in the trash before she wrote the real story. This MC book was sorely lacking in so many ways. There was very little loyalty, too many secrets and members turning against each other. I think the biggest flub was when Asa was getting undressed quickly and he "chucked" his kutte across the room....um not happening...those kuttes are treated with more respect than their women, so to say that one was thrown around that way is ridiculous. Then there were inconsistencies in the story..like when they spent the night at Asa's house and she left the next morning before he got up...how did she leave? First off she had declared when they got there she didn't know where they were. Then there was the small issue of them going there on his bike, so she didn't have her car. What did she do...call an uber? Seriously doubt they had a taxi service in some little crap town outside of Vegas. Then of course you throw in the fact that Samantha was the dumbest twat known to man and you end up with just a big ole shit fest! I would definitely NOT recommend this to anyone who has read other MC books by authors like Joanna Wylde, Bella Jewel, Bink Cummings, etc... I'm afraid you'll just end up as disappointed as I was.
Wow! This is the first MC book I have read & certainly won't be my last. I have watched reality shows on Discovery & History channel & enjoyed them but never read any. Samantha Wilde will do anything to become a series reporter. When she goes undercover & meets ASA Boone of the Black Skulls MC she gets way over her head. A perfect start to a series & looking forward to reading other books in this MC Series. I enjoy the writing style of this author & she did a remarkable job on this story as it was well developed with no plot holes. The character's are highly entertaining & realistic with real emotions and flaws. I was not expecting and pleasantly surprised how much humour there was in this MC novel. It was sweet & sexy spicy with a lot of mystery. I was hooked right from the beginning with Samantha's tactics with trying to get her story then add in many suspenseful twists & turns you won't expect to have you at the end of your seat waiting to find out what happens next. I am looking forward to reading about the side character's in the next novels. I highly recommend reading this MC novel as it's remarkable. I volunteerily reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
Asa is Sargent at arns for the Black Skulls Mc and he meets Samatha a rookie reporter trying to make a name for herself with a story on Johnny Fox VP 10 years ago and she is trying to find out who murdered him and buried him in the desert. Sam is not nearly as smart as she thinks she is and Asa knows that he wants to have sex with her but refuses to give her any information but she mentioned something to Asa that upsets him and he makes her promise to give information when she finds it out. Samantha cannot seem to keep her mouth shut and spills that beans when he messes up and takes her to the Blue Spades President to try and get them to confess to the murder things don't end as he might expect because of Samantha and then she gets in a fight with the biker chicks while waiting outside for Asa and he has to fight off a couple of guys while she fights off the chicks. Entertaining, suspense, violence, romance, and love. HEA I read a copy via Bookfunnel without obligation. I volunteered an honest review.
After reading some other MC romances (Insurgents, Reapers, Evil Dead, etc.), this was quite a disappointment. Samantha is clueless and dumb as a box of rocks until she suddenly becomes clever and saves the day (in a totally unbelievable way). Asa begins as the usual MC badass but that changes. Perhaps, his beer was spiked with Xanax at some point (same thing must have happened to the rest of the MC at around the same time) because he certainly lost his edge. I may have missed something because I was skimming at that point just to get to the end in case it got better. It didn't. If grammar, punctuation or other errors bother you, this may be one you want to skip. This book is in desperate need of an editor who can proofread.
I've read several MC books and I guess I was expecting more of the angsty, bad boy draw those books tend to have. This book alluded to all that for the main character, Asa. However, it missed the mark, at least for me, on what I expect in an MC book.
The writing was good, and it was enjoyable, but when I decide to read an MC book I want all the bad boy draw that goes along with it. I was expecting and I guess hoping for a more SOA type of read.
This book was so good. So well written & I just couldn't stop reading it. Samantha is a reporter sent to interview bikers. She meets Asa & she's hooked. She's bitten off more than she can chew but she's one smart reporter. Can't wait to read more of this author's books. Thanks.
Kindle Unlimited standalone read. She wants the story about his club and is willing to almost anything to get it. Yep and man does she get the ride of her life...
This book is full of action, once I started it I couldn't put it down. Samantha is under cover & she is going to find out who killed Jonny Fox, Asa is her target, but he's guessed that she a reporter. This book is how she gets her story & her man!!
Sam is a reporter looking to do a story on a dead vp from the Black Skulls MC. Asa is the sargent in arms from the MC with a sexy look and a dark secret. Can Sam get a good story or will the sexy biker turn her?
I love this & I can't wait for more. I will be also leaving a review on Goodreads @ Amazon. And letting everyone know about it. So i gave it a 5 Stars.
This book is told in dual POV which is great! This is a fantastic, suspenseful read that keeps you on edge. I love a good MC book and this just hit the spot with the storyline and the characters.
ASA: BLACK SKULLS MC by Kylie Walker is the first book in her brand new Black Skulls MC series. The story is told in dual POV between Samantha Wilde, the reporter that is desperate to make her mark and finally tell a prize-winning story and Asa Boone, the unknown and dangerous element that has captured her attention (and libido) at first meeting. A strong case of insta-lust/love ensues and the heat turns up exponentially.
The story Samantha is chasing is the death of a Black Skulls MC member who disappeared ten years ago and whose body was just found. It's the kind of story she has been waiting for and is determined to be the one to tell it, of course placing herself in some very precarious situations along the way.
Asa Boone is not one to be messed with so when this tiny, beautiful reporter starts digging into a decade old story truths are revealed that are now calling his loyalty to the club into question and as a result putting his life, as well as Samantha's, at risk.
The resolution of this story wrapped everything up into such a neat little package that I was sure couldn't happen from everything that went wrong. Another of Kylie's stories that I absolutely enjoyed every page of. Enjoy!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.I have read many MC books but i can honestly say this one blew me out of the water.I freaking loved it from the very beginning.this book not only has an amazing storyline but two main characters that you cant help to fall in love with.Asa is freaking hot,a biker and as you read you learn he has the biggest heart ..Ladies he is my new book boyfriend.Sam a report looking to get her big break has balls of steel. She puts herself out there and takes huge risks .But damn does she do it well and come out smelling like a rose. She may have gotten her break but i am glad she did it tp help the right people.I loved this storyline very well written.Kylie writes amazing MC books.I seriously cant wait to read more ..Highly recommend ..Oh and an added bonus some steamy sex..
I love MC Romances. This one mixes a lot of suspense into the story which is very common for this author. I really like her female characters. They are strong and determined and stand up for what is right. In this one, we have a reporter who is determined to solve a murder involving an MC. She jumps right into the story and meets a man that challenges her. Asa knows how difficult the MC is and tries to push her away. They have some great chemistry and even when he is being harsh, you understand his reasoning. It is a great read and I am looking forward to more MC books from the author.
What a great start to this MC series! This book is full of suspense, twist and hot sexual chemistry! This book was very well written with likeable characters. Asa is part of the Black Skulls MC and Samantha a reporter trying to get her first big story. She decides to go undercover and get in with the MCs and gets a lot more than she bargained for! This is a great must read! Looking forward to the rest of the series.
4.5 ⭐️'S I voluntarily read and reviewed Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for honest review.
What a Rollercoaster ride! So many things going on you don't know what's going on lol! Asa is the Sergeant of Arms for the Black Skulls and Sam is a reporter. She goes into their clubhouse to get a story and she meets Asa. He figures out fast what she is and basically try to kick her out before anyone else finds out who she is, so they don't kill her. They have instant chemistry. The things that you figure out in this room is mind blowing and heart wrenching at the same time. A must read for anyone who likes sneaky reporters and hot men. Lol!
ASA is book one in a new series that can only be described as action packed, twisted roads and drama galore. Exactly what I like in a book and especially in a MC book. Kylie Walker has not disappointed her readers and provided us with a group of men we can each love and desire while giving us woman that are strong willed and determined. Can't wait to see where this series takes us.
Wow, what a great new MC series. Loved the protection that Asa felt for Samantha, but how independent she was anyways. I really hope that the next book will be about Jared and Molly.
I received a ARC of the this book for a completely honest review.
