Sometimes after reading a highly emotional or angst heavy book I find myself in a book hangover that I can’t shake. I have over 500 books on my kindle (what can I say I am a hoarder) and a dozen ARCs I am due to read yet I spend hours and hours searching Goodreads for something to catch my attention.

Sadly after all of this scouring, when all I want to do is chill out with a good book but I can’t get my head out of the last book, I still couldn’t find a single thing to read and I was worried any book I read I wouldn’t be able to do justice to. But then I checked out the ARCs I needed to read and when I read the blurb for this it sounded like exactly what I needed. And as luck would have it the book was exactly as described and was the perfect cure for my hangover.

Emma has had a crush on Zach since she first met him, unfortunately she also made the mistake of introducing him to her older self-centred sister. Now years later everyone has moved on and her sister is getting married to Zach’s best friend. And Zach and Emma are forced together in their roles as maid of honor and best man.

Well obviously sparks fly and these two hook up. But due to Zach’s history as a love them and leave them kind of guy Emma assumes it’s just a wedding hook up and is scared to let her high school crush get the better of her. Zach didn’t enter his relationship with Emma without knowing the type of woman Emma is.

So there’s a little bit of drama but mainly it’s just sweet with a little bit of steamy sex and a heap of awesome chemistry. The secondary characters were great. Which all helped to make this a fun and easy way to spend the afternoon and I can’t wait to see the rest of the characters get their stories.

Zach Thorne and Emma Callahan are the best man and maid of honor for Emma’s sister’s wedding. Did I mention Emma’s had a massive crush on Zach since her teens and Zach just so happens to be Emma’s sister’s ex-boyfriend? Are you following along still?

Zach and Emma are essentially stuck together planning the various events that the best man and maid of honor are responsible for pulling off. And while they’re in each other’s constant company, there’s no denying the spark that’s between the two of them. Zach’s a consummate playboy—he’s left a trail of broken hearts and one-night stands behind him. Emma’s a relationship kinda girl—a girl a boy takes home to meet his parents, a girl to spend your life with, a girl who scares the bejeezus out of Zach. Well, more like the feelings he’s feeling for Emma are scaring the bejeezus out of Zach. Will this turn out to be just a wedding fling or are they destined to be more?

The Trouble with Bachelors is the start of a new series by Caitlyn Blue. I really liked both Zach and Emma and their cast of friends. Zach and Emma are adorable together—and very sexy together too. They’re banter was a lot of fun too! They managed to have some fun even when the stress of pulling off some of the events threatened to overcome them.

However, not everything in The Trouble with Bachelors was perfect. I found myself frustrated over some of the dropped plot points and wished for more embellishment rather than moving on to the next stage in the story. I also wanted Emma to stand up for herself with her family more—she showed flashes of a strong backbone with Zach but caved most of the time when it came to pressure from her family.

All in all The Trouble with Bachelors was an enjoyable read. I’m looking forward to book two, Much Ado About Bachelors. ~ Missy, 3.75 stars

The first book in a new series is always the toughest one to embrace. There are a lot of characters introduced and a lot of background to lay out. Basically – it can be information overload. However, when it’s written in an engaging manner with bursts of laugh out loud humor and an adorable romance to get excited about – it doesn’t seem like such a difficult thing after all.

And that’s what The Trouble With Bachelors felt like to me. It’s a lot of information and a lot of new characters but it was written in a way that drew me right in and made me feel at home. I loved Emma and Zach’s story – the sweet and sexy second-chance romance that tugged at my heart and set my pulse to racing. I spent many moments grinning dopily at my Kindle – there were some incredibly adorable scenes as Zach and Emma fumble their way toward their happily ever after.

I adored Zach. He’s got a sort of “big dumb animal” vibe going on – but it’s not written in a condescending manner. It was actually quite hilarious and endearing to watch him figure out his feelings and then try to get Emma on the same page. He’s easy to love and incredibly entertaining . I loved Emma too – but she drove me crazy sometimes. I would have liked to have seen more…oomph from her – especially when it came to matters of the family. I felt like she did a fair amount of growing over the course of the book, but there was still room to grow from a communication and self-esteem standpoint. She’s not a doormat (well, at least not in the romantic sense), but I would have loved to see a little more fire in her temperament.

I loved the ending. Like, loved it. And I loved most of the road it took to get to it. I’m excited for more from this series – Emma’s cousins were fun and interesting, and I’m completely intrigued by Jayce. In the end – this was a solid series starter, a completely satisfying love story, and I’m on board to see where it goes from here! ~ Shelly, 3.5 Stars

This was my first title by this author, and I enjoyed it. I liked both Zack and Emma, I liked the characters as well as most of their interactions with one another and the supporting characters.

There were times I thought there was a little too much focus on those supporting characters, and that it drew away from the story a little, but it worked overall.

I did like that they felt real, like they were actual people and in the actual situations. And, while I do think there was too much focus outside of the couple, I also kind of liked the idea that even though there was a lot going on around them, they made it work. And, you know about this going into it, that Zack was involved with her sister. It helps that the sister is getting married, but there is still some *squick* with this relationship and the things it brings into the new one with Zack and Emma.

Overall, I liked this enough to read other books by this author and am definitely interested in the next in the series.

Let's talk about this cover before anything else okay ... ridiculously fun, right? I mean huge #CoverWin in my book. I wanted to make sure to mention this because I don't think covers get enough credit. They are the first impression you put out there of a book. It's important and it shouldn't be taken lightly. Because first impressions are crucial in life. If you mess them up, you may never find out the greatness beyond the cover. That's just life. So MAD PROPS for this cover :) It's the main reason I chose to read the book! lol

You see that fun, flirty, sexy vibe this cover is emanating ... do you see it? Well, you'll also read it in the story! #WIN This story had all kinds of feels for me. I loved the spark and banter between Zach & Emma and I very much enjoyed their tension as well. It pulls you into the story and makes it a one and done read. You know the ones ... where you just cannot put the book down until the last word is read! I'm ridiculously happy with everything about this book and everyone in it. I can't wait to read everyone's journey in the future :)

Another new author to read and I am happy with the book!

When I read the blurb about the pairing of the hero and his ex- girlfriend's sister, I had to get my hands on it. And I hit solid gold because it had lots of scenes which had me going "Ooooooo".

A good start to the story with the introduction of the hero and the heroine amid the wedding preparations. Emma has so much snark to her and she is also witty. I had fun reading about her. Zach is sweet under his playboy persona. He has made it into my top heroes list without breaking a sweat.

I loved the way they mesh with each other. Their characters are complementary in nature and well aligned. I gobbled up the entire book in one sitting. It was a quick fun read. The author's writing felt abrupt at times. But it wasn't often to impact the story's sway over me. Though I hadn't read any of the author's works, I was bowled over by her narration and characters. The protagonists are one of those rare couples who made me feel and react to their circumstances. My emotions went through the wringer and I won't have it any other way!

So in short, it was a fun engaging romance and I have to say that I will definitely read the author's other books too.

I received a copy for reviewing purposes.

My one line review : A fun engaging romance with lots of feels!

My rating : 5/5

Serial dater/Playboy. Ex-girlfriend’s sister. One wedding. Too much time together. Things go on a ride for their lives. Emma had been the girl in the background. She was the sister to his ex-girlfriend. Now she was the maid of honor to his best man. Falling in love with her was not part of the play to get through this wedding. Getting to know her on a deeper level was not part of his plan. Emma and Zach had a chemistry that transcended the years. Even though he was off limits because he was an ex of her sister’s.

Their go with the flow and allow things to happen as they may. May not have been the best of ideas from either of them. Things progress on and the end seems to be in their minds too much. The was a mix of cheer /joy, angst, pitfalls, and love that finally had a chance. Zach and Emma had to open their eyes and see beyond what was the past. I found good characters in this fun read.

The Trouble With Bachelors (Windy City Bachelors #1) by Caitlyn Blue

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Emma and Zach are essentially thrown together when Emma's sister and Zach's best friend get married. Emma is the Maid of Honor and Zach is the Best Man. They have known each other since they were in middle school/junior high and Emma used to have a major crush on Zach. However, Zach ended up dating Emma's sister, which in turn, caused Emma to lose hope.

Years later, Emma is still attracted to Zach, but this time, in return, Zach finally sees Emma as a woman and not his ex-girlfriend's sister. She is funny, driven, holding down her family store, but has larger dreams.

Zach is the typical playboy. He is a serial dater, never settling down. When he was younger, despite dating Emma's sister, he knew or at least figured out that his best friend had the hots for his then, girlfriend...so he did the honorable thing and bowed out. However, the manner in which he bowed out... not so graceful.

While Zach and Emma are planning a joint bachelor/bachelorette party - a friends with benefits relationship starts, but each character develops their own idea as to how the relationship will eventually end.

Old insecurities flare up, past indiscretions arise, miscommunications occur and eventually a heartfelt reconciliation occurs. This was a sweet story of second chance love and the secondary characters made the story both hilarious and frustrating. I can't wait to see who gets the next story, but I do hope that Emma's sister develops in to a different person as I found her incredibly hard to like.

I think this would have been a more successful story had the writing been more clear. Several times I had to go back in order to figure out if we were in the past or present. Paragraphs seemed to end abruptly, but when I went back, it usually meant that there should have been some sort of break to show the reader that a change happened, but it just wasn't clear.

A forbidden romance, The Trouble with Bachelors intrigued me from the start. The hero used to date the heroine's sister, and now they are forces together as Maid of Honor and Best Man in a wedding party.

The tension between the two can be felt from the first interaction, and the two of them complement each other perfectly. They both throw each other off their axis and make them want to do uncharacteristic things, for the other. Their story was engrossing, I didn't want to put it down at all!

While I found Emma to be a bit childish at times, she was a refreshing character. She was funny, full of wit, and a bit snarky when needed. Zach is a delicious dirty talker, genuine and just plain sweet.

Highly recommended for the reader looking for a story that is sexy and hot, and also on the sweet side.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the start of a new series, and I think it will be a hit! Inevitably there is the need for some scene setting, but it is done totally in context and just whets the appetite for future stories.

What I think was particularly effective was the blend of funny, sexy and slightly crazy! The sister about to get married, Julie does not come off well in my opinion, but there is time for her to redeem herself. The cousins though, are just fab, as is Emma's Ma.

As we get to know Zach, and Emma through the chapters written from their POV, we get the sense of who they are, and just how good they might be together. It takes Emma a little longer to believe that her crush aged 16 is possibly a good guy after all. The adventures they have along the way are by turns highly amusing and really rather intense.

Looking forward to future developments, and catching up with this couple. Thank you Ms Blue.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Emma had a crush on Zach a long time ago, even after he started dating her sister, Julie. When Zach cheated on Julie right before Prom, she realized that he didn't deserve the pedestal she had him on.

Zach has shied away from permanent relationships since his parents marriage imploded. He's seen the devastation that kind of heartache brings and he doesn't want to face it again. But when he sees Emma at the engagement party of her sister and his best friend, he can't help but wonder, what if?

Emma knows Zach's reputation and isn't eager to get involved with him. What she doesn't realize is that Zach is ready for a relationship, with her.

The drama that Emma's family brings to the story furthers the romance as well as throw in a few roadblocks along the way. All in all, a nice read.

Emma Callahan had the biggest crush on Zach Thorne years ago, but he ended up going out with her sister in High School. Now though with her sister marrying someone else, Zach is available. Still, Emma is cautious because everyone knows that Zach could have any woman he wants and his revolving door of willing female partners proves it. Is she the one woman able to change his mind on relationships, or will their chance at happy ever after fall apart since Zach should be off limits to her having once dated her sister?

Any story encompassing the forbidden relationship trope is bound to grab my attention immediately, especially when the relationship is forbidden because the hero is an ex-boyfriend of the heroine's sister, and I've got to say that this book was a fascinating read. It made me laugh and made my want to cry, but most of all, it entertained me from start to finish. So much so that I did not put it down for even a second. The way this story started captivated my attention immediately due to the hero's declarations. What were his truths? What was his lie? However, it was the moment that the hero and heroine came face-to-face for the first time in this story where things got really interesting. Emma isn't afraid to express her opinion when it comes to things she doesn't agree with, which is a trait I really liked about her. Will she sway Zach to her plans for her sister and fiancé?

The dialogue was intense due to the main characters back stories and the fact that this couple's relationship is a forbidden one due to the hero being an ex of the heroine's sister. Emma tries her best to get along with her sister, but there's plenty of resentment between them with her father playing favorites. Luckily, Emma has her mom to support her dreams and offer great advice. Then there's Zach who people believe did the wrong thing in the past when it came to Emma's sister. Yet, it turns out he's a really good man that would do anything for his friends, which is proven by what he did for his best friend.

Emma is resilient, brave and I liked that she gave Zach a chance, even when she believed he wouldn't stick around permanently. That he'd move on to another woman the second things between them began turning serious. However, I'm glad that Zach proved her wrong by what he did for her towards the end. It showed he believed in her and that he wasn't going anywhere, as long as she wanted him in her life. While Zach, he's confident and I liked how determined he was to show Emma that she was different. That she's the one woman he wants in his life more than anything. Furthermore, I felt sorry for him because he did what he thought was right for his best friend, and yet, everyone believed he did wrong. How could he convince Emma that he wouldn't do what he did to her sister to her?

Overall, this was a really good read that kept me entertained from start to finish with this couple's growing relationship. They had such strong chemistry, which shouldn't be denied, so I was glad that Emma found it hard to resist him. The way this story ended with the epilogue was wonderful, as the hero and heroine talk about the past and then Zach surprises Emma with a surprise that had me cheering for this couple. Emma and Zach deserve to be happy after everything they've been through. What right did Emma's sister have to be jealous when she had a good man wanting to marry her? I would recommend The Trouble with Bachelors by Caitlyn Blue, if you enjoy the forbidden relationship trope or stories by authors Megan Erickson, Lauren Blakely or Penny Wylder.

There is so much I enjoyed about Emma and Zach getting together – friends (of a sort) to lovers, high school crush, taboo relationship, reformed rake … there’s just a lot here to make me happy!

Zach is misunderstood in quite a few places throughout the story. He’s known to be a bit of a player but he really is a nice guy. He’s got a good heart, does a lot for his friends, and when he comes across a girl he wants to settle down with he’s willing to do a lot for her. Unfortunately she’s got some baggage that makes it hard to believe he’s sincere.

Most of the time I really liked Emma but she really doesn’t give Zach a break. She’s struggling with her attraction to him and is putting a lot of that on him when he really doesn’t deserve it. He may have a history (and really a big part of it was in high school, people!) but he never does anything to her to suggest that he isn’t being true. I think a little openness and a whole lot of good old fashion talking would have helped these too a lot :)

While the story appealed to me and I enjoyed the feelings developing between these two, there were a couple of writing style choices that I found a little strange. One was the way that the people and their lives were revealed to us – it almost felt like this was a middle of a series story but it is the first and all the other characters have books coming up. Blue does a great job of giving you the information that you need but it is presented in a way that it felt like you should know it already and she’s getting new readers up to speed. It doesn’t keep the characters from being interesting (which they are and I’m looking forward to getting their stories, especially Emma’s sister because there is some complicated stuff going on with her) or the story from flowing smoothly, it just seemed an odd choice for a first book in the series.

The other thing was that there were a couple of times when I got a little confused about the timing of things. A chapter would end but when the next one started I wasn’t confident about how much time had elapsed and what happened to the characters during that time. The explanation would come but not before I felt just a little bit lost first. And even then I’m not 100% sure I got all of the details about what happened. It doesn’t keep the story from moving well or for me to feel like I got a complete and enjoyable story, but it felt an odd choice to me.

Overall, though, the fun that is Zach falling in love and winning over Emma far outweighs any trouble spots that come up. With 5 more romances for this group coming soon, I think a lot of this will work itself out and we’ll be left with just the joy of a great love story. And I’m ready to find out all their secrets (Emma’s sister especially – that girl is just a big ball of conflict).

Friends to lovers/ 2nd chance at love.
Emma fell in love with Zach Thorne when she was a freshman in high school and they took an elective speech class together. After being paired up by their teacher, Emma is over the moon when Zach offers to give her a ride home so they can study together.
But as soon as Emma’s older, much more vivacious and pretty sister (in Emma’s eyes) gets a look at Zach, it’s game over.
Zach and Julie become a couple and Emma is left out in the cold.
Fast forward 10 years. Julie is engaged to Zach’s best friend Paul. Although Zach wasn’t in her life as much, first at college and then working in a more up and coming part of the city. He’s still been around, the crush never really fading for Emma.
It’s during Julie’s engagement party the she gets to spend some time with Zach since those long ago days. Try as she might, Emma just can’t get him out of her mind and when Julie and Paul ask them to pair up to bring their joint bachelor/bachelorette party together she can’t so no.
Zach can’t get over how much Emma has changed, from the shy young girl to the hot, sexy woman she is now.
He wants her. But something tells him she’ll want more than he can give her. He’s not relationship material, or at least, he didn’t used to be. It doesn’t stop him pursuing Emma. The more time the spend together the closer they get. Then Julie notices and puts a spanner in the works.
How Zach works around this made my heart melt. He was a cocky, indulgent man to start with, but the reasons for why he had acted like that are slowly unveiled and Zach is shown in a much better light.
I loved Emma’s strengths, and her devotion to her family. I wanted to shake her when she let her big sister continually put her down and then walk all over her. I’m almost hoping Julie doesn’t get her big day with Paul because she sure doesn’t deserve one. She so selfish and thoughtless, disregarding other people’s feeling in favor of her own. Especially her sister’s.
Although this is a standalone, there are two more books to follow. But each one has their own separate ending.

A Sweet start to a series...3.5 stars!

I found this story entertaining with Emma and Zack thrown together because of their roles as maid of honor and best man, and need to come up with ideas for a joint bachelor/bachelorette themed party.

Though Emma’s had a crush on Zack ever since they were in high school, she’s not about to give Zach any room to get into her pants. He’s one delicious, gorgeous panty melter, and that’s all he’ll be to her. Apparently breaking her sister Julie’s heart soured her opinion of Zack. But there’s a reason behind why he did that and Emma does not realize the truth. So they dance around their attraction. The chemistry between them is irresistible, but it’s a slow sexual tension that builds up. It’s enough for Zach to reconsider being single and finally take the plunge for Emma.

The Trouble With Bachelors is a fun, sweet and sexy start to a series. Having said that, there is a slew of supporting characters and future subplots that were thrown into the mix that really took away from the story and our main characters. The onslaught of taking that all was overload and took my focus away on several parts of the book. But I think this series has promise and Ms. Blue has great writing style in telling a story.

I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Title: The Trouble With Bachelors
Series:  Windy City Bachelors Book #1
Author:  Caitlyn Blue
Genre:  Romance

Blurb: Falling for her sister's first love, how could that possibly go wrong...

Zach Thorne is supposed to be off limits. He’s her sister’s high school boyfriend and his love life is a revolving door of women. He’s also handsome, sexy and the one guy Emma Callahan has never been able to forget.

Now they’ve been thrown together as best man and maid of honor for her sister’s wedding and some serious sparks are flying. Zach is perfect wedding fling material until he starts to take their romance seriously. Now, Emma is left wondering: is he for real or is she about to get her heart broken?

The trouble with bachelors is you never know.

Thoughts: So I started out this series with book number three, It Happened One Bachelor. I enjoyed the characters, so it was interesting to get some of the other books and backtrack. I enjoyed this one, because I got to see the romance develop between Zach and Emma, despite the challenges facing their relationship. It was a very enjoyable read and probably one of my favorites so far!

After reading Caitlyn Blue first book I knew I just had to get my hands on her next book , so when I heard about The Trouble With Bachelors I was thrilled and I dived into this book as soon as I possibly could and It was fantastic!.

In this book we follow Zach and Emma . Zach is Emma's sister's ex so you can already tell that this situation could becoming very complicated really fast .However now Emma's sister is getting married ,and In the wedding they both have really important roles. However as they get closer and closer things between them begin to change . This story is not very long but the amount of things that Caitlyn blue was able to put into this novel just speaks to how much of a talented writer she is . I loved the romance it was sexy , it fun and kept me on my toes . I was invested in Zach and Emma 's love story , seriously whenever things were not going the way I wanted them to , I would literally stomp my feet lol and that is what I love in my books when you care about the characters that much that it causes you to react like that .Caityln Blue writes an excellent love story in this book , that was perfect for Zach and Emma .Besides what was going on with the romance there where so many other things going in the book and they kept me just as engaged in the story as the romance . I could go on and on about how much I enjoyed this book .

The Trouble With Bachelor was a sexy , fun contemporary romance . Caitlyn Blue wrote another amazing book and I cannot wait to get my hands on her next one. If you love all these things in your books you should definitely get a copy when it comes out March 21, 2017.

If you're looking for a new group of friends to enjoy, The Trouble with Bachelors is an excellent choice. The characters are smart, sexy and lively whose antics will leave you highly entertained and smiling.

Emma, Emma, Emma. I really liked this character but as I read, I anticipated the moment she would take her own life by the balls. It was almost like she had chosen to be a bystander for all that was going on around her just so she didn't rock the boat.

Anyway, Emma is currently the matron on honor for her sister (a person who is selfish and manipulative) and this would be way more enjoyable if she wasn't fighting feelings for a man who has had her heart since she was a teen, Zach, who is one of the groomsmen.

Zach never really paid much attention to Emma. She was the cute younger sister of his high school girl friend who he knew had a crush on him. However, after being paired with her at the wedding, his world is turned upside down. Now she's all he sees and he desperately wants to where a relationship between them could go.

Obviously, they have to overcome some road blocks and his past with her sister to get their version of happily ever after but it is a fun and highly tantalizing adventure.  They share an enticing chemistry that makes you want to spend more time with them and that makes for an excellent reading experience.

I loved Zach and Emma. Right from the start of their romance, they were addicting. Their banter made me laugh and the way Zach courted Emma left me feeling giddy - it's a great romance.  So my recommendation is that you don't miss out on it.  Grab yourself a copy today!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Oh I'm so excited! I found a new author I love! And she is putting out a whole series of the people I met and fell in love with in this book. The characters are so real and believable. The intimacy is pretty hot too.
You have 2 people that have known each other for more than 10 years but while she has had a major crush on him for that whole time, he has just seen her as a friend or kinda like a little sister. Now suddenly he has noticed her in a whole new light. He realizes she is a beautiful, sexy woman. Trouble is, he has a reputation as a playboy and she is a forever kind of girl. Plus he is her sisters ex boyfriend from HS. Is he serious about her? Can she believe him if he says he wants more than one night? Will others cause conflict to try tearing them apart?
Get ready for Caitlin Blue, she is a fabulous writer with some terrific stories to tell.

Fun and HOT contemporary romance!

The Trouble With Bachelors is the first book in the Windy City Bachelors series. It's the first book by Caitlyn Blue that I read.

One thing that stood out is how it just wasn't about romantic relationships but also the friendship between women. I was confused at first with the number of secondary characters, I had trouble to remember who they were.

Zach and Emma were so hot together, and the sexual tension was off the charts! The couple worked really well. I liked the dual POV of this story, I especially enjoyed Zach's!

I'm glad this wasn't an insta love type of romance. It set the scene for the next books in the series, which I plan on reading.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

description

Emma and Zach are paired together as maid of honor and best man for a wedding and their first combined wedding party event dredges up feelings both new and unexpected. The two already have history that didn't end well, and while their chemistry becomes undeniable, there are plenty of hurtles in their way.

Emma had a huge crush on Zach in high school. But he's her sister's ex-boyfriend and even though her sister is marrying Zach's best friend, Emma knows Zach is still considered off limits. The fact that he has a bad reputation with women doesn't help matters either. When they give in and start what is supposed to just be a wedding fling, feelings begin forming and soon they're forced to consider if they could possibly be more.

I really enjoyed the dual POV of this story. It gave great insight and helped me connect with Zach in a way I don't think I could have had it been only told from Emma's side. And I really liked Zach. I spent most of the book thinking he was given a really hard time unnecessarily and that he really was a good guy. I also had the occasional moment where I wanted to scream at Emma a little. Some of her choices were questionable for me.

But overall this was a really good story with a great setup for upcoming books. I would definitely recommend this one and hope to read more from this author in future.

This was a cute story that had me not only smiling from the beginning but had me chuckling throughout. There were some frustration issues too, but then that’s how life is. Especially when dealing with a wedding, siblings and friends. AMD maybe some residual high school issues. This was my first Caitlyn Blue book, but I’m looking forward to more stories within this series. Each one will be another couple within their inner circle…. Exciting stuff!
Emma has had a crush on Zach since the first day of being in speech class together in high school. Unfortunately he ends up saying her older sister instead of her. He’s a playboy who prefers short term relationships, while Emma is the long term, forever type. Can these two be just a wedding hookup fling, or will it turn out to be more? You’ll have to read The Trouble with Bachelors to find out. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours through Instafreebie for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual situations and adult language, this book is recommended for readers 17 and older!

Emma lives with her cousins in their grandparent’s Victorian house and works at her family’s antique store. Her older sister, Julie, is getting married and Emma is hosting a co-ed Bride/Groom Shower at her house. The best man, Zach, happens to be Julie’s ex-boyfriend from high school as well as the groom’s best friend. Emma has had a crush on Zach since she first set eyes on him in Speech class, before he started dating her sister. At the Shower, Zach realizes how incredible Emma is and they begin to casually see each other. Emma does not take it seriously, believing it’s only a temporary fling. What happens when real feelings begin to grow? Will they be able to make a relationship work?

The Trouble with Bachelors is the first book in the Windy City Bachelors series by Caitlyn Blue and the first book that I have read from the author. The story line is fun and well-paced and the characters are engaging and realistic. I was immediately engrossed in this story and read late into the night. I recommend you adding this one to your TBR list!

Zach Thorne and Emma Callahan have a history. She's had a crush on him in high school and then he started dating her sister.

Now they are reconnecting due to her sister's upcoming marriage to his best friend. I loved how the story moved along with them reconnecting to getting closer as they spent more time together and then onto lovers with developing deeper feelings. I just love these two. They just 'fit'.

One thing I would of liked to see is Emma putting her sister in her place. (Well, her family too) The author does a fabulous job protraying her as the whiny self center person that she is. She's been catered to her whole life and it's time for this woman to grow up and face reality.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this fun read.

Emma and Zach discover that The Trouble With Bachelors is finding out when they get serious with a relationship.
This author is new to me and she is a great writer! Emma and Zach are maid of honor and best man for Zach's best friend and Emma's big sister. There is a lot of drama trying to belittle their new relationship that began for Emma in high school and seriously for Zach as this connection grows. It is a great start to a new series. I received a gifted copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I honestly love this story and this series!

This is a new author for me, and I enjoyed it very much. Zach and Emma are the best man and maid of honor at Emma's sister Julie's wedding. There are awkward friend/family dynamics here because Zach dated Julie in high school. Dealing with a whole host of different people and personalities, Emma and Zach tiptoe around each other trying to figure out just what they're doing with each other. It was both fun and frustrating to watch Zach and Emma. I do wish Emma had a little more sass in her. She was the sensible, reliable one. I felt her angst, but I would have liked to see her grow a little more confident. And watching Zach try to figure out just how to navigate a relationship was frustratingly fun. I would love to read more works by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested. The story has laughs, love, and heartbreak.

This is Emma and Zach’s story. Emma wants Zach but never had a chance with him. He was her sister’s high school boyfriend so he was off limits. Now as they attend her sister’s wedding as Best man and Maid of honor sparks fly. What happens when she has a chance with him a wedding fling then she can go back to her life. Can she take the chance? What should have been a fling now turned into a sort of relationship. Are the feelings one sided or do they both want the same things? Can she really have a future with Zach? Only one way to find out…..

I loved both characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

Zach and Emma have a connection right from the beginning, and not just a sexual one. Even though Emma has crushed on him since high school, it isn't until they are thrown into the roles of best man and maid of honor that Zach starts to see Emma as more than his ex-girlfriend's little sister. As if that alone doesn't complicate things, Emma sister is starting to have doubts about the man she is about to marry, who just happens to be Zach's best friend. Emma and Zach have an small issue with communicating their feelings for each other, causing them both to doubt what is happening between them. While Emma can't count on her sister's help with the situation, she has her three cousins to help her out. I loved them and can't wait to see what trouble they get into with their bachelors. If you're looking for a sweet and sexy romance, I would definitely recommend.

This is cute, romantic and dramatic. Zach is amusing the way he falls for Emma, it's like watching someone trip over their own feet. Emma is sweet and naive. The storyline is intriguing because it could have gone a completely different way and still been a good love story. This was a very enjoyable book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest opinion of it.

I love this book. It was a sweet romance between Zach and Emma that had been building since they were teenagers. They started as friends and became so much more. I love Zach, He was a sweet romantic guy with a heart of gold. Emma was a sweet kind hearted woman with a heart of gold. Both of those hearts fought very hard to not give in. You add in all the secondary characters and it makes for one hell of a story. I cannot wait until the next book. This is 5 stars for sure.
