It's an easy read. I really found it too easy and wish it had been more complex. I loved the premise, but wished that the characters had more depth. It only scratched the surface of 'Gavin's people' yet there was so much opportunity there. I wanted to love this book, but just couldn't. I'd like to know how it all ends, but I'm not planning on reading beyond book 1.

Good story as far as it goes

This is one of those sucker books. It leaves you hanging so you buy the next in the series. I really dislike that tactic.

I was given an ARC copy of this book through NetGalley and have to admit was looking forward to a story of how a woman who seemingly had lost herself was able to regain her identity. I was disappointed that this is not what I found in this book.

The author seemed to feel that she needed to include every possible situation for the main character to live through in order to "find herself" i.e. spoiled and unappreciative children, feeling taken for granted by spouse, contentious relationships with s

Three sisters and many challenges

This story due to d's the reader with family values while meeting goals and challenges. Characters are believable and warm. The ending came much too quickly. And flows effortlessly into the next book.

This is a first in series and a fun summer time read. I loved the well crafted writing, the unique charcters and enjoyed the plot of the story very much. I highly recommend this book for your reading enjoyment.

Finding Me (Salty Key Inn Series #1) by author Judith Keim is a delightful story about three sisters who jointly inherit a rundown hotel in west Florida. There is a stipulation to be followed, the sisters must agree to get the hotel renovated and earning money by the end of the first year or they will not receive the balance of the money waiting in the inheritance. They have no idea how much money their uncle, Gavin Sullivan, has put aside for them if they are successful. He has left some basic ...more

Finding Me is rather a telling title for the first story in the Salty Key Inn series. It’s not only the eldest sister, Sheena who is finding herself after years of being wife, mother and pretty much a maid to her family but also her sisters finding themselves as well.

Sheena, Darcy and Regan had such dreams when first told of the strange inheritance they’d received from an uncle who most of them had no memory of. The reality was far, far different from what

When their estranged uncle passes away and gives them a hotel in Florida, Sheena, Regan, and Darcy think they have hit the jackpot. In order to keep the hotel and a large inheritance, the sisters must live on the premises for one year leaving behind their families, jobs, and security.

Upon arrival in Florida, they realize that the luxury hotel they thought they were getting, actually is a rundown resort that needs lots of repairs. They have also inherited Uncle Gavin’s group of friends that he is

Sheena, the oldest of the sisters has the most to lose. In order to gain their inheritance, the sisters have to move to Florida, live and work together to make the inn a viable business again. Sheena has to leave her husband and her teenage children. Sheena has been unappreciated by her family for years as she keeps the home pleasant and peaceful. This move gives her an opportunity to find herself. Even though this book is from all three sisters' viewpoint, this book is centered slightly more on ...more

I was lucky enough to be an advance reader for author Judith Keim's upcoming novel, FINDING ME, the first in her upcoming Salty Key Inn series. Love her three main characters, sisters Sheena, Regan and Darcy, who must revitalize a ramshackle inn in Florida (and make it a profitable) in order to claim an inheritance.

Enjoyed reading about the sisters learning to work together, their respective love interests and the trials and joys of bringing an old but potentially charming building back to life

Great summer read.

Fun new series that has wonderful characters that you love and a series of life challenges to win an inheritance. I enjoyed the first book and can't wait to see what happens next. There sisters, as different as night and day, must take a run down hotel in Florida and get it up and running in order to get their uncle's inheritance. Through hard work and a bit of working outside the box, they sacrifice everything to rebuild. The life's challenges are difficult but, as they begin

Three sisters are given the opportunity to change the courses of thie lives if they are willing to make the necessary adjustments to succeed in this enjoyable book. Sheena, Darcy and Regan all have imperfect lives. Sheena is a mother and wife feeling taken advantage of by her husband and two teenage children. Darcy is looking for her true calling. Regan has never landed anywhere for very long, flitting from aim to aim.

Self Discovery on the Gulf Coast
This is a wonderful piece of women's literature. It is about discovering one's self and rediscovering one's self. It about rejecting the opinion of others, looking in the mirror and seeing who is looking back. The story is well done and leads into the next of the series without having any type of cliff hanger. All of the character development is quite believable, I am looking forward to more of the background stories being told in future books. I received this boo

3 sisters inherit a run down hotel and need to live in it, get it up and running and they will inherit a large estate. Their uncle left it to them as a learning experience for them and learn they do. They have 2 weeks to leave their jobs, home and/or families. Along the way the each have dilemmas and learn from each one of them.

I did enjoy the book but I don't think I will read the next book in the series partly because I have a reading list 10 miles long and partly because while I enjoyed the b

The storyline was pretty good. The writing was not. It sort of reminded me of a soap opera, where at any given moment a character would be likely to blurt out their deepest secret to a stranger, or to make random references to weird things merely as a way to explain the plot. The interactions between characters were flat and lifeless and the scenes didn't really tie together. We got in-depth descriptions of painting techniques, but important scenes were glossed over. I'd kinda like to know how i ...more

Ehh, a freebie and easy to read. The ending was short and horrible, you have to read the next book to really know what happens, and I don’t plan to do that, unless it becomes free soon... I thought Darcy was so rude and immature and always ready for an argument. Reagan had a chip on her shoulder that she really needed to acknowledge and deal with. They were both so quick to get mad at Sheena, along with her husband and children, which was sad because she seemed to be the only one trying to make ...more

I enjoyed this first book in the Salty Key Inn Series. Set in the Gulf Coast of Florida, three sisters discover that an Uncle has bequeathed a hotel and property in need of major repair to them. They must, however, live there together for one year while fulfilling the challenge of turning the hotel back into a viable business. The sisters, Sheena, Darcy and Regan are each a unique personality. I truly enjoyed getting to know the three sisters plus many other wonderful characters. Now I

First book in a series, this was sweet and enjoyable. The sister’s journey and growth throughout was fun to read. I’m from Boston so it was fun to see the familiar towns at the start.

My only gripe is the ending. Even in a series, each book should have a conclusion. It seems like many authors are doing this now and it isn’t good practice. This knocked down the rating for me.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and for the copy in exchange for a review.

Keim has written a book with an interesting trope. Although, I felt the dialogue was a bit awkward and stilted. The story had promise and the overall feeling the story leaves readers with is positive. The characters were interesting, but not developed to their full potential. I didn't love this book, but I didn't hate it either. In its current state I would not recommend it to other readers.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a complementary copy of this book.

Dreams come true

Easy to read story about three sisters whose Uncle leaves a hotel, with condition they live there a year and renovate it to be profitable.

I love this story because it takes place in Florida, I can relate to the relationship of the sisters and the mother who feels she never got to live life for herself.

I look forward to reading more of this series and others by this author.

Finding me by Judith Keim was so good. It’s the first book in the Sullivan Sisters Series. Gavin Sullivan, a wealthy man, dies and leaves his 3 nieces a challenge in his will. They will have to move to Florida for one year and have to get The Salty Key Inn in inhabitable condition for lodgers. If they can successfully do this, then they will each be in line for a large inheritance. They they all get along in order to accomplish this goal? Read this terrific book to find out.

Fun New Series

Three sisters inherit a rundown hotel in a Florida and in order to inherit the rest of their uncle’s estate, they must live there for a year and get the hotel open for business. This is the beginning of the story of the ups and downs, and trials and tribulations they face and undergo. It’s also the story of family, building relationships, and each of the women growing and learning about themselves. I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

Interesting but not "can't out down"

This was a nice platform for women finding their strengths and recognizing their weaknesses. All three sisters had to face their past decisions and work through flaws. I couldn't give it a 5 star rating as the ending way too corny and convenient.

I really wanted to love this book.
The writing is somewhat unexciting and at times boring but the story is interesting which kept me going.
The characters could have so much more depth and they don’t.I Know it’s a series but not sure I’ll be getting into it just couldn’t keep my attention to think about reading 3 more books.

I know this is the first book in a series, but I like books that have an ending! This book leaves you hanging so you will buy the next book in the series.
I didn’t like the book enough to go any further in the series. I found all three sisters annoying, immature, and unrealistic. The storyline had potential, but there was far too much drama thrown in.

This book tried too hard. It tried to be a romance at times (and failed). It tried to be mystery (but it just got weird). The characters were in and out. Sometimes they were good, sometimes they were flat. I really liked the premise and the main plot. But the rest? The trying to date situation? The big problem at the end? Too much, too little, all at the same time.

First in a series of three. Three sisters inherit a hotel in Florida on the west coast. In order to inherit the rest of the estate they much accept a challenge of living there for a year and get the hotel up and running. Sheena is the oldest sister and she is the more or less the main character in this first book. It was really good. Enjoyed it. Easy reading. Recommend.

Three sisters learn so much about each other when they are left a hotel. They expect it would be easy but the hotel is in need of a great deal of work. If they get it and running in just one year they would get the rest of his money between them. See how they will cope and if they can do it

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I chose this book to read on a trip to Florida...It brought intrigue to the area I was going..The descriptions are very realistic and the storyline is fabulous...I can't wait to dig into the next book.. The plot of this book is a very true to life situation with some extra added twists but it definitely can touch many different people in a profound way.

Seems like a great series

Like the characters, including Big G and the Salty Key Inn. The Sullivan sisters are fun to see grow into their own and within the bounds of sisterhood. The lessons learned here are great to see they still exsits somewhere!
