Stella McCord wants to be accepted and loved for who she is now, not for the rambunctious child she once was and believes marrying as a mail-order bride will bring a new beginning. But when she arrives in the small, desert town, she's greeted by a dilapidated hotel and its distrustful owner--her soon-to-be husband.

Travis Stone hopes to escape his lawless past when he wins

Nothing Like A Great Book

“All he needs is a trusted * manage * to help him run his property.”. This is part of the Blurb, and if the author can’t get that right, then I’ve little hope the book will be any better. And it wasn’t.

The whole premise is crazy 😜 and unrealistic. There’s an orphaned 11 year old running around directing things for the ‘adult’ mmc. The fmc calls her 11 years older step-mother, ‘Mamma’ and her granny was married to John for 9 years, but it’s totally irrelevant to the story. The gu

Great characters

I thoroughly enjoyed how the author developed the characters in this story. Each was shaped by their past, but as they came into contact with the others, the best of them came out and they began to form tight bonds. This romance started as a matter of convenience, but personal feelings began to change attitudes. I liked the author's message that in spite of a difficult past, one can move forward to something better when you are with those you love.

3- rating. Oh my gracious, I do not understand the great reviews?? Story was good although the time frame things happened in was unrealistic plus my Kindle version had about 3 pages repeated. It had likeable characters but it was half a story?! It ended so abruptly with no resolve and left all kinds of loose ends!! Very frustrating! I will not read this author again!

Exciting

What a wild and fascinating western story! A great mail order bride tale, a heart tugger, lots of action and danger, and on so interesting. Might be checking out more of this series.

Cute Story - One Major Oops

The characters were well written and it was fun to see Stella, from "American Brides, Lucie", all grown up. However, chapter 6 was all about the wedding of Stella and Travis - printed, word for word, twice! Not cool, but not epically bad, either.
