Rock god Noah Hart needs inspiration. And he's choosing me as his muse.
In my darkest days, I found solace in the words of rock star god Noah Hart. He saw into my heart. And I saw into his. Even though we'd never met, I felt as if I knew the man behind the music.
Then I met him.
Noah isn't a wounded poet.
He's a jerk.
He's abrasive, cutting, and guarded as hell. He says people are selfish. He says we're only out for ourselves. He refuses to trust. He refuses to let anyone in.
I'm supposed to be helping him write a song. I'm supposed to be his confidant.
But the only time we connect is when we take to his bed. Noah plays my body as skillfully as he plays the piano. He makes me feel things I've never dreamed of.
And that includes heartache.
The man behind the music is nothing like I imagined.
Who exactly is this Noah Hart I've met, and what the hell happened to my soulful, romantic poet?

Hard Rock Tease is a sexy, full length New Adult Rock Star Romance. It is the first novel in the Darkest Days series, but can be read as a standalone with a HEA.
A note from the author: This book is complete and utter fangirl wish fulfillment. It is not realistic in the slightest. Then again, who reads rock star romances for realism, anyway? ;)

This was a relatively short read,my first by this author so random thoughts
This would've been rated higher if the h wasn't so totally gone over the H from moment 1. The author warned that the h was a fangirl but really she over simplified that statement. The h's inner monologue was about how hot, sexy and everything that Noah Fucking Hart is(why'd they have to keep saying Noah Fucking Hart I have no idea)
Jen was very, very insecure. There were so many moments when she thought she wasn't anything special, when she didn't think she was talented, when she convinced herself that Noah was so much better than her that I grew really frustrated.
The h had some great sassy moments where she'd snap back at Noah but her fangirl didn't allow her to hold out against him at all.
Noah was sexy and sweet sometimes but 80% of the time he was an asshole. He had his childhood issues but really he acted like a prtulant, whiny child.
Lots and lots of back and forth with Noah always doing the pushing away and the h being heartbroken and going behind him until the final breakup where she wasn't going to take him back(yay backbone) until he did his grand gesture🤦 and she melted like butter in hot sun.
h's pov only
On the positive side
No cheating or OW drama of any kind Some sweet moments Yummy yummy dirty talk Quick and easy read
In the end the mcs were just too annoying and immature to make me love this one. It was ok-ish but considering it's a rock star romance without cheating? I've already got the next one started!
I'm really glad this was a KU book and not a paid one. Don't get me wrong, I love an asshole rockstar hero with a heart of gold. This hero was missing the latter, just making him an asshole. The hero is basically using the heroine for muse sex. She keeps thinking that he's being sweet. Examples of his "sweet nothings" include complimenting her on the tightness of her vagina. Not dirty talk in bed, mind you, just in general conversation. And there was no real growth on either of their parts, especially the hero. What a douchebag. The writing wasn't great either. I think it needed another edit. If you want real fangirl wish fulfilment read Backstage Pass. If you want an asshole who actually is a good guy (tortured, but good) read Make Me Sin. But I'll probably read the damn series, because I have no shame or willpower.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Jennifer 'Jen' Young recently graduated from college & is dying to land a job in the music industry, her field of study. She is the biggest fan of the popular rock group Darkest Days & relied on their music to help her through some tough times. Noah Hart is the talented rock god lead singer & lyric writer for Darkest Days. When the band decides to record an album with each of the band members writing a song of their own to contribute to the album, Noah is frustrated. He has written all the words to the Darkest Days songs but has not composed any of the music. The bands manager calls in Jen for an interview & hires her based on her recommendations & her willingness not to take any crap from Noah. Noah & Jen have a hard time working together. After all Noah is the arrogant rock star that doesn't need anyone's help. Jen believes she needs to get to know Noah better to be able to compose for him & Noah is just a jerk that is hard for anybody to get a long with. The longer they work together, the more their walls come down. Eventually they begin to start having a sexual relationship as part of the 'process'. Jen's continued doubt in herself & Noah's continued trust issues make it hard for them to accomplish their task. As both of them start to realize that they are having feelings for the other beyond just casual sex, Jen is finally ready to face something from her past she has been putting off. After Jen & Noah are able to finish their song. Soon some news of Noah's sister hits the internet & Noah jumps to the conclusion it had to have been Jen that leaked it because she was the only person who knew. And things are said that cannot be taken back. Will Jen be able to forgive Noah for what he said? Is Noah sorry for what he said? Will Jen & Noah be able to admit they love each other?
Athena Wright delivers another fantastic rock n' roll romance with the 'fangirl' landing the rock star. Both of the main characters have suffered through childhood trauma & have the emotional scars to prove it. They work together to help each other recognize that letting go of their respective issues does help them each grow. However, neither of them makes the journey easy. Learning to trust others or learning to believe in yourself is no easy obstacle to over come. This was a fun read with a great deal of angst & sarcasm flying around. This book is meant for mature readers.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
The Author in the beginning of the books worn us that this a fangirl type of book and end up to be the thing that i didn't like!!!
h is a music major straight out of college... When she goes to a job interview she ends up face to face to a Rock Star that she simply worships, things goes to shit... She act all fan girl, fanning her self, knees wobbling and drooling all over the guy!!! She states that if he touch her she will do everything he tells her to do!!! *roll eyes* I really don't get all the hype around famous people, their just people after all! Instead of prove her worth by being professional and do what she's being hired to do, she ends up being his sex toy, a stress relief fuck, a ego stroker...
He has no respect for her... Always putting her down, calling her groupie and throwing in her face that she can't help spreading her legs for him!! He takes takes takes and gives very little!!!
This is the first book I've read by this author and I enjoyed it and liked her writing style.
Jen has just been hired to help her ultimate crush write a song for his upcoming album since he's having writers block. There first meeting goes off horribly with him not really acknowledging her as anything more than a fan girl. They start to get more comfortable with each other as time passes and Jen becomes something of a muse to Noah.
They both have serious abandonment issues. Jen is also extremely insecure do to events in her past and Noah has crazy trust issues due to his past. They slowly help each other overcome there issues.
Even though I enjoyed this book at times I wanted to ram my fist in Noah's face and slap Jen for just trying to hard. But it all comes together in the end.
I've read this book a few times so this was a 'reread' for me. Moody Noah is a favorite of mine.
I think this was my original introduction to Athena actually, so revisiting the story in audio was like going home.
Jen becomes Noah's muse. She's there to help him write a song that is him vs one that sounds like Darkest Days. They start with antagonism (because Noah doesn't trust anyone) but their attraction to each other fuels his creativity and breaks down his walls. He tends to stick his foot in it but boy, does he make up for it in the end.
I'm not that fond of women doing men's voices but Stephanie wasn't awful. I didn't find myself cringing or turning off the book because it irritated me, so that is a sign I'm enjoying the audio performance.
The book is from the female MC's POV, so that it was a female narrator made sense.
I listened to it in one sitting, so for me that means it was a good audiobook.
Hard Rock Tease: A Rock Star Romance by Athena Wright had one thing right … Noah is a Jerk.
And that about sums my thoughts on the developing relationship between the leads. Because I could never feel anything while reading it. I am not even sure there was love or passion – to me it only felt like lust and sex.
Because Noah is hurtful about 90 % of the time and I found myself actually wondering what would make those two “right” for each other and I cam up empty handed – except again the sex.So while I finished the book it still was not a story I really loved – might be different for others so just go ahead and try.
I read this awhile ago, but my recent re-read reminded me how much I fell in love with this bookiverse. Noah is a deliciously angsty, broody, sex in public places bad boy rocker. Jen becomes his muse, and eventually his heart. Fell in love all over again.
Hmm I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. Would have liked to have had some of Noahs perspective in the story which may have made him seem less like a total arsehole! I didn't find him at all likeable. Also (and I can't believe I'm saying this) but I would have liked a bit more story and a bit less sexy time it seemed like the story was just bulked out with sex scenes. Will read the next one as I do like a rock star romance and hope I like it a bit more
2.5 stars on this one.. This story could have really been amazing, really it could have. There were so many things that pissed me off I am not sure where to start. Noah was nothing but a complete asshole, for about 99.8% of this book. There was nothing redeeming about him. He was a cruel straight up prick. If Noah was bad Jen was fucking terrible. She had no backbone whatsoever, does whatever he wants, allows herself to be treated like shit and then goes to him to fix what he fucked up to begin with again and again and again. She allowed herself to be used. I just disliked pretty much everything. I am going to sample the next book. If I get the same vibe I’m done.
Loved this newest series by Athena. After being introduced in the Feral Silence series, they captured my attention. These boys are a bit rougher around the edges than their counterparts. Noah needs someone to see beyond his perpetual scowl. He's worn his prickly armor so long he doesn't have a clue how to let someone in. Jenni is determined to do her best by Noah and the job she has to help him. Noah has a few lessons to learn and Jenni needs to figure out how stand up for herself. They both have some deep wounds, but together they fix what's broken. The ending is superb. I can't wait for the next book. Adult read
This story was pretty good and I enjoyed reading it. Noah sexy , handsome, rock star had a rough start in life which made him the brooding super star. He’s having a really hard time composing a new song and his manager hires someone to help. Jen meets him and it’s a wet dream come true because Noah is her dream. She’s been a fan girl since her high school years and helping him write a song is more then she can take. The man is hard to reach because he’s cold, snarky and mean. But they had great chemistry and the journey to love was rough. I recommend this book.
ok, 1st thought ... this is the only book in this series, tissues please??? WHAT?? i have to wait, more tissues please???! I just was lucky enough to find this series & was super excited to read the next one. i guess i have to wait. such a great read. Loved it. Fan meet Rock Star .. is that TMI? reviews are tough ...this was a great book, must read. Loved it ... don't wanna give anything away. I can't wait 'til the next one please arrive soon. any clues when it will show up? ( ;
I voluntarily reviewed this book. OMG HOT HOT HOT...I loved this book so much that I didn't want to put it down. I love hot rock gods and this was a great story about one and his muse. I can't wait wait to read the rest of the series. I definitely recommend.
The write up to for this book certainly does personify what is within the the covers.... well besides the two main players.... Noah certainly does not come across as an easy person to be around but the book is good nonetheless. I look forward to meeting all the other band members. :)
I couldn't get into the story. I didn't feel any spark between the characters. And at one point, I was getting annoyed because she (the h) just kept putting herself down. Not my kind of story. Sorry.
Review: Hard Rock Tease is a story of passion and forgiveness. Noah and Jennifer are two souls in conflict with many problems to avercome. Both characters have serious self doubt about their relationship and about their feelings. The narration is surrounded by music. It is clear that Athena Wright loves both music and writing and this is an advantage for this rockstar romance. Hard Rock Tease is full of sexy scenes but good described and exciting. What I can say is that I will read the entire series beacause the other members of the band are also very interesting.

Recensione:
This book had a lot of potential but unfortuanlty it fell flat. Here are some of the top reasons that I can think of that made me like the book less. 1 Jenn or Jennifer, the character gave us no backstory. only that her mom had killed herself which is an important detail but to paint a picture of the character, there were no details like what she looks like or where she was living during the plot. These may seem like tiny details that don't matter but when you're trying to visualize a character in a story like I do when I read a book these things matter. I also think that giving Noah a pov would have been helpful. Number 2 some of the writing in the phrases that the characters used were cheesy and reminded me of a Teenage Disney Channel movie where they're trying to be cool. This is a series and I was planning on reading all of them, and I may try one more, but from what I've seen so far I don't expect too much. I'm not entirely sure why it had such a good ratings, but I'm not a fan. I gave an extra star because I feel like the story did have potential but fell flat
Okay so I was a little hesitant to start this book. Firstly, this is the first time I’d heard of this author (shame on me) and secondly, how can you make a book about a rockstar romance interesting? I am happily proven wrong. I LOVED Hard Rock Tease. It truly reminded me of any time I think about my favorite band and how I assume they are in real life. Athena completely took every emotion I’ve experience with music and threw them all into an amazing piece of work. It is obvious that she loves both writing and music. I am completely in love with Darkest Days and need to know everything about these rock stars. Noah was exactly how I pictured a lead singer, lyricist god, cocky, arrogant and a little bit of a misunderstood jerk. And Jen was so sweet and kept quite her wits about her for fangirling so hard. As stated, this is every fan girls dream. But tastefully done, even though there’s so INTENSE sexy scenes. They were 100% worth it. I’m officially hooked and will be totally reading the entire series.
I read this book through Kindle Unlimited. It is my first book by this author and it is written in first person pov. It could use a little editing but otherwise it doesn't take away from the story.
I really couldn't get into either character. Not a lot of spark between them. Noah was a total jerk with major attitude and Jen was just a doormat who always put herself down up until the end and then she didn't make him grovel enough. Jen is hired to help Noah, who is the lead singer for Darkest Day, write a song for the bands new album. They take months to write one song while he uses her for sex, treats her like crap and takes all his problems out on her. If he is such a musical genius I don't think it would take so long and then end up using her mothers song. In the end she gives in to how he treated her, forgives him and they work things out in the end. Not sure that I would read any future books in this series.
first time reading anything by this author. It's a good story. Jen is a big fan of Jonah's band, his lyrics helped her get through some very dark times. He is a rocker with a stone cold wall around him. He doesn't ask for help, doesn't let anyone get too close, doesn't trust anyone and he has a huge ego. her dream comes true when she has to help him compose a song attraction is instant but trust is not. He hurts her and pushes her away a few times, especially when he let's her into his feelings, heart and his wall starts to crumble. she pushes when.she has to and knows when to back off, but he says things that hurt her for the final time and she walks away even though it kills her. So he pulls out the an epic grand gesture to show her how he truly feels. decent first book in this series.
Jennifer used Darkest Day's music to get through the toughest time of her life. Noah has had a rough life growing and a whole lot of guilt built on top. Determined to help him, Jen makes it her mission to get to know Noah and help him. Will their be more to them than sex? Will Noah push Jen to far away? Will Noah and Jen be able to help each other overcome the past?
LOVED this book! Loved how dark Noah is, even if I thought he was an a** at times. He showed soft sides when it came to Jen that no one besides his sister had seen. I loved Jen's determination and honestly thought that her self doubt was a good part to put with her because it made it so that Noah had a reason to bring her up and help her also. Hot read and will definitely be reading the rest of this series!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
STORY ------- It`s a short novel about Jennifer Young trying to get to her interview for a job in the music business. There she meets Noah Hart, member of the famous rock band Darkest Days. A rock god poet and a... jerk. And then she finds out that the job is about to help him compose and write his own song.
MY OPINION ------------ It was a fast read. I enjoyed it. She is a total fangirl and tries to help him compose his own song while coping with her feelings. It was cute. There sure was good tension, but his behaviour was often kind of rude but real, but his total retreats from her when certain things happen again and again was a bit annoying. All in all I enjoyed it and will continue with this series.
**I received this ARC in exchange for an voluntary review**
Now the guys from Feral Silence are settled down, our attention is turned to Darkest Days, another band on the same label.
The link to the previous series is kept via Jen, the heroine, whose room-mates are dating two of Feral Silence. Jen prefers Darkest Days, and in thrilled to get an opportunity to work with Noah, the lead singer. She's not so thrilled to discover his personality isn't quite what she imagined.
Lots of chemistry and hot, steamy sex keep the book moving along while they sort themselves out. As a self-confessed fangirl, these books verge into romantic fantasy territory, but that's what makes them fun!
Received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Like......WOW!! Hard Rock Tease is such an awesome read, & if you're into rock and HOT Rock Stars this is the book, & series, for you!! There's much to love about a book/series about Rock Stars. In fact, too much! I especially love the connections & off the charts chemistry!! And in this book it definitely is between Noah and Jennifer! I also loved how the author described the intricacies of their relationship! A book doesn't have to be a Pulitzer prize-winning book to be entertaining & enjoyed by readers! I really thought Hard Rock Tease was that & more worthy of a 5 🌟 rating!!
