I had read the other books in this series and enjoyed them, so I was eager to get to this one.
I loved Gabi and Parker. They've got a lot in common, have excellent chemistry, push each other's buttons, and have banter for daaaaays. The family element is always fun. I loved seeing the other couples and hints to possible future books.
Plot wise, it's nearly all fluff and it's fabulous. There is a bit of conflict and drama towards the end, but it isn't drawn out. My main complain is that there wasn't an epilogue. I mean, the ending chapter is pretty solidified, but I would have liked to seen just a bit more into the future, especially with the restaurant.
Overall, it was my favorite so far from this author and I look forward to seeing who's up next.

Parker is trying his best to open his brand new restaurant, something he's wanted for a long time, while trying to keep his Groomzilla brother out of his hair and his fractured family in tact. He certainly doesn't have any time for a girlfriend or even a fling. But one glance at Gabriella's gorgeous body and high-voltage smile makes him want to reconsider.
All her life Gabi has wanted to prove her celebrity chef father she has what it takes to be a chef. It's driven her hard and she knows if she can get her foot in the door of Parker's new restaurant, she'll be a success. Parker tells her he wants to keep it casual and so she keeps her father's identity a secret. But when sparks fly and more than with her food, can she release all her anger and allow love into her heart?
This was my first Candis Terry book and I absolutely loved it! The Kincade family is funny, heart-breaking and love each other fiercely. Terry infuses a lot of emotion and it brings the reader right into the story. Beautifully written and I can't wait to read more!

Tangled Up In Tinsel is the third book in the series and boy did I have fun with this one. I have only read book one, but I felt that Tangled Up In Tinsel was way better than even book one. I just couldn't put this one down and boy I had a blast with this couple. They were so entertaining and they fit so well together. This is one of those stories I like to call "foodie romances". Just basically means that there is lots of food and you might want to make sure you have some yummy treats while reading this one.
In Tangled Up In Tinsel our tale begins when our hero, Parker Kincaide, is rushing around trying to get his restaurant opened in time for his brothers wedding which he will be hosting, the same brother who wants the "perfect" wedding, so of course Parker is running around like crazy trying to get everything done as soon as possible. Then a beautiful woman walks through his door, wanting a job as his "chef" which is the last thing he is currently concerned about. Gabriella just wants a chance to prove herself and her talents. And she knows that she is exactly what Parker Kincade really needs. She is determined to prove herself, even if she has to get creative. Soon Gabriella and Parker find themselves in a tangled web of delicious endeavors and passion....
I love you Parker. And it has nothing to do with my father or this restaurant. I love you. The man who's taught me to laugh and to live again.
What a story that this proved to be and I had such a fun time with these two. I just loved just about everything about this book. I honestly didn't have any serious problems with this at all. The flow of the story worked so well and the dialogue that builds between Parker and Gabriella is pretty engaging. Then, of course, we have the family involvement. Now I know sometimes families don't always work so well in romance, but this family totally worked for this book in just about every way. It wasn't hard to figure that they would add some nice touches to the story. What also worked well for the story was the well balanced built up that becomes involved. What I have come to respect about Candis Terry is how she balances out the light and fun with those serious moments that are needed. Both characters have some unresolved issues especially in dealing with the Christmas season and it was so fun to see them work together to face their pasts and build that emotional intimate connection that is needed.
Tangled Up In Tinsel is a romance that is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit, putting up tinsel, kissing your loved ones, and making your laugh and brings a sweet smile to your face!! DELICIOUSLY WRITTEN!!

Our characters in this book had seriously cackling chemistry and since both of them were chefs food was their aphrodisiac. Our heroine comes to the hero looking for a job, at his under construction restaurant and the hero is taken by her confidence and offers her a audition. Of course these two give in to their sizzling chemistry vowing to keep it to one night. The hero is a former wild-child turned super serious man who has too many responsibilities to even juggle a relationship. I have to say as usual this author writes amazing heroines, who are strong, sexy and just amazing. Our heroine here has had a tough home life with an narcissist for a father and absentee mother. The hero on the other hand was way too serious about everything and deserved to have his head bashed in to face the reality staring him in the face. Despite his casual stance, h/H were not casual and were instead headed towards something pretty deep.

Candis Terry returns to Sunshine Valley, Oregon, with Tangled Up in Tinsel, featuring Parker Kincade, fourth in line in the all gorgeously yummy Kincade brothers. Parker is planning to open a restaurant to help the family business in the midst of his older brother's wedding preparation. Parker promises Jordan that the restaurant will be the venue for Jordan and Lucy's wedding reception. Parker is pretty much under stress when Gabriella Montani, a gorgeous woman who wants to finally take first step to reach for her food dreams, approaches him and ask for a job as his upcoming chef....
I think this book is sexier than the previous two books and this time it's a good thing. I mean, Jordan and Lucy have 'not-so-pretty' history. Declan and Brooke have that boss/assistant/friends-to-lovers tension. Parker and Gabi, on the other hand, have the freedom to explore the insane sparkling attraction between the two of them without any strings attached (at first!).
I LOVED how Gabi takes charge of the obstacles that came her way... You know what, she can be my new best friend! Sure, Gabi may come a little too-good-to-be-true on page (she can cook, she can use power tools, darn girl!) but I loved her tenacity. Yes, there are moments when Gabi seem to lose her confidence, that she needs to ask help from her Nonni for advice, that she crows back to the girl who had her heart broken after his father's affair ... however, it seems that Gabi is always able to get back up again.
Gabi may insert herself in Parker's decisions about the restaurant or in Jordan and Lucy's wedding preparation, but she has smart and clear visions, she becomes integral to the result. I didn't find her nosy at all!! Like I said, my new best friend :)
As for Parker ... well, when he's NOT being an idiot he can be my new book boyfriend *grin*. How could I not love a man who can cook, who is playful, who can become a peacemaker when the family are all shouting in distress, and who can say the perfect words to his younger sisters when they both need it? Plus that Christmas gift he gives Gabi ... and the words he has behind it to explain the meaning of the gift? SWOON-WORTHY STAMP OF APPROVAL!!!!
I enjoyed all of their interactions; the back-and-forth innuendos were really fun to read. Compared to book #1 and #2, I think this one is mainly has smooth-sailing pace. I didn't see a big problem that could stop Parker and Gabi to be together. Which is why Parker being an idiot near the end felt like a bit too forced by the author to create a tension. I didn't feel it was believable enough and I was a bit annoyed by it. Having said that, in overall, I was still very much entertained. I basically finished this in one sitting.
So I can say that this is another winner from Candis Terry, one of my favorite authors in this genre *smiling happily*.
PS: Jordan as Groomzilla was HILARIOUS!! But of course the wedding was beautiful *siiigh*

Auf "Zuckerküsse und Lamettaglitzern" war ich sehr gespannt, da ich die Reihe aus dem Sunshine Valley bisher sehr gerne gelesen habe.
Auch dieser weihnachtliche/winterliche Teil hat mir wieder sehr gut gefallen. Man fühlt sich direkt wieder wohl bei der Familie Kincade und ich finde es toll, dass rund um das Paar noch viel Platz für die Familie ist und man auch den anderen Paare immer wieder begegnet.
Parker befindet sich mitten im Bau mit seinem Restaurant auf dem Gelände der Familie als sich Gabriella als Köchin bei ihm bewirbt. Mir hat es gut gefallen wie das Kochen und auch die Planung des Restaurants in die Beziehung der beiden einfließt. An manchen Stellen hat man richtig Hunger bekommen.
Ich mochte Parker und Gabriella sehr gerne und die Chemie zwischen den beiden war sehr prickelnd. Natürlich kommt es nicht ohne Dramen aus und das Hin und Her war an mancher Stelle etwas anstrengend.
Außerdem ist mir die Übersetzung leider etwas negativ aufgefallen und man merkt, dass bei diesem Band eine andere Übersetzerin am Werk werde. Besonders bei den Sexszenen klingt manche Formulierung ein wenig platt und billig.
Insgesamt konnte mich das Buch jedoch gut unterhalten und ich würde mich freuen, wenn es weitere Teile dieser Reihe gibt.

This was a lovely read! The characters are charismatic, driven, and sexy; while the plot is a playful blend of family drama, gourmet food, and holiday romance. This has been a fun series to read, and I can't wait for the next Sunshine Creek Vineyard novel!

I've been on a quest for holiday romances this year and that usually entails trying out new authors. I've stayed away from reading Candis Terry in the past but the premise of two chefs butting heads in a holiday romance just did me in. I HAD to read it. And I had such great expectations for it too. Sadly, this wasn't for me.I had a few problems right off the bat, the writing style being the main one. We just didn't fit. This book has more of the cheesy dialogue that for me personally can get irritating. And dialogue aside, it felt like the characters were thinking like teenagers with their inner innuendos every few minutes. It would completely throw me out of the scene when I had to roll my eyes at the "that's what she said" going on in their minds. This style I'm sure works for some readers, but it really grated on my nerves and ultimately was the main reason I couldn't cope with this book.
On to the story. Parker is in the process of opening up his restaurant and has the added pressure of having the place ready for his brother's Christmas wedding. He will be head chef of course, but Gabriella appears on his door one day wanting to be hired as his assistant chef. Randomly. Nobody knows her. And she's determined to get a position that doesn't actually exist at this restaurant that isn't opened yet. I don't want to go into much more detail than that but suffice it to say that I thought Parker was getting lead around by his little head a bit too much and things moved too quick for my liking as well. It just didn't feel natural and I ended up not buying the I love yous in the end. And the main characters? It might've been what I said about the innuendos but I just didn't like either one enough to care what happened in the end.
I hate having to write reviews when a book doesn't do it for me and I really wanted to like this one. I'm sure there are many readers out there who will think this cute and even funny at times because I know that's what the author was going for. Maybe even a tiny bit over the top. I'm just not the target audience for the way the author went about it and I probably won't be reading her again.

The Kincade siblings lost their parents in an accident not that long ago. Since then, the brothers and sister learned things about them they wouldn't have suspected. Chef in a distinguished food truck and winner of a culinary competition on Food Network, Parker Kincade wants to help get the family business back on his feet and open a restaurant in their family vineyard. Starting a new business is stressful enough, but in addition to that, his brother is putting pressure on his shoulder to open early for his wedding.
Falling in love was not part of the plan for Gabriella. But tell that to her heart... During the construction, she come to Parker to offer her services and ask for a job. There's no position available, but she's determinded to quit her job and work for the man who talk about his work with passion and create dishes full of flavors and good tastes. Seduced by her assurance and her way with words, he accept a compromise ; she's going to audition in making him dinner next friday night. But the instant attraction between them is too uncontrollable and what should have been a business deal quickly turn into something else.
"One night. A good time. Then tomorrow it's back to business."
That was supposed to be the deal. But Parker is a real good guy and Gabriella is charmed by his intelligence, his compassion, his easy-going attitude and his sense of family (maybe because she doesn't have a good family situation). When Parker propose to extend their night into several others and keep things casual, it's already too late; she's fallen in love with him. Her reluctance at giving info about herself intrigue him and he like a woman who knows what she wants. He believe in honesty and the importance of commitment. He knows she need a man who will give her all his attention, but he doesn't think he's the right guy. He doesn't realize he would be perfect for her.
Tangled Up In Tinsel is almost a 4 star for me, but not quite. There was lot of good things in this book. Like the themes and the messages (family, helping out people in needs, that if you want something in life you got to work for it and do the things you like). I liked how the heroine stand up for herself and that things doesn't magically turn out right between her and her father. She understood that when someone is not good for you, you got to let them go. I liked the affectionate bickering between the siblings and there's a beautiful touching scene between them. But in the end, I prefered the characters to the story. I didn't understand Parker's anger at the heroine because of what she didn't tell him. It was foolish to be angry for such a weak reason and I had a hard time believing it was enough to divide them. For me, the brief separation is an important part of a romance novel and I feel that it kind of spoiled the story. And even if Gabriella shined with her poise, I didn't enjoy the situation with her father. But one thing that was done very well is the tension between her and Parker at the beginning. Even without words, between their silences, there was such a potent sexual chemistry.
I can't wait to read about the others Kincade left and to see how they'll get their HEA.

Tangled Up in Tinsel is Candis Terry's latest addition to her Sunshine Creek Vineyard series; I previously reviewed Perfect for You last March (you can see that review here).
While it took me a couple of chapters to warm up to Gabi and Parker, I was glad I stuck with it as I eventually enjoyed their story.
I've always been a fan of food-oriented novels, restaurants and the creation of gourmet meals fascinate me, so I loved that aspect of Tangled Up in Tinsel. I loved how Gabi and Parker came to their love of food from two different angles, hers from family, his from teenage misadventures, and how it brought them together.
The repartee between Gabi and Parker is fast, sexy, and fun, and that may be an apt description of the novel as a whole. I was impressed that Parker didn't feel put-off by Gabi's frequent pushiness and insertion in his life.
The family atmosphere makes a very warm story on its own and I found myself thinking at times how I would happily read a story just about the Kincade family celebrating a holiday, because their antics would never be boring!
And, for the foodies, at the end of the novel there are some recipes of some of the dishes mentioned in the book. Ricotta cookies!

Every book in this series just gets better and better - and with Parker on the hot seat for this one: running his food truck, building his restaurant in the old barn on the vineyard property, and dealing with a "groomzilla" of a brother in Jordan, convincing his newly-found half-sister that she is a part of the Vineyard and the Kincaides, and working to pin down his Aunt Pippy to share the whole story of his parents' marriage. He doesn't have time for guilt, or to look for a relationship. Fortunately, that relationship comes to him in the perfectly bold and determined package that is Gabriella Montani.
Walking into a restaurant under construction with a plan: a plan to dazzle Parker with her food and score an early foot in the door, avoiding all those awkward questions about where she trained and what experience she has, Gabi takes Parker’s breath away. That lethal combination of determination, heart, beauty and surprising frankness intrigues him: and while he’s willing to give her a no-strings option, he’s not willing to commit to either a job or more. The only problem is that between running his food truck business, and helping with the remodel of the barn, he doesn’t have time to actually plan for the restaurant.
Abby is looking for a job and what better place than at Parker’s new restaurant. Showing up unannounced and asking for a job may not be what most people do, but she is definitely one for making an impression.
As they get to know each other, Parker comes to rely on Abby’s spirit and generous nature, while Abby relies on his strength and character.
When Abby’s father enters the picture, Parker sees Abby omissions as her failure to trust him, rather than it being Abby’s way of protecting herself from further pain at the hands of her father. I always have a great time reading anything by Candis Terry. But Tangled Up in Tinsel bumped things up a notch, bringing us back to Sunshine Creek and following up with the Kincade family since their world imploded with the loss of their parents. Now this installment finally explains *everything* the siblings were never told about their parents’ marriage and the secrets withheld from them all. Tangled up in Tinsel was so much fun! I was cracking up while reading. Hot, steamy and with hilarious dialogues and scenes. If you love a good romance novel, with a bit Christmas spirit in it – this is your book. I usually don´t like starting a series in the middle. It always gives me the feeling that something is missing – mostly the stories of the other characters who are showing up in the book I am holding in my hands.
This is no exception. But since I´ve only missed two, it isn´t a drama. And to be honest, when I saw the German cover of part one and two, I wasn´t very impressed by them. They look kind of unimaginative.
Parker does not know what to do first or next. His head is full of a terrible long to-do list for his new restaurant and his elder brother isn´t helpful either with all his visits to see how much progress he´s already done. And when Gabriella shows up at the site, he knows that he´s in trouble. Because the Gabriella knows what she wants and how to get it. And soon Parker is not only in a hot and steamy heaven with her, but also in a terrible dilemma.
While reading I was cracking up. Witty dialogues, steamy scenes, brothers who behave like cavemen and use a language that isn´t from this world – it was one hell of a reading pleasure.
Candis Terry uses a soft writing style, but her language is straight. She writes with style, but forthright and uses words I didn´t even know that existed. I loved every minute! Sure, it bugged me, that there were obviously parts in this novel I couldn´t follow, like the fact that Parker´s dad had left his family with some financial problems and in this novel, you won´t find out where that came from or the why.
To figure that out, it seems obvious that I will have to read the other two books as well, to get the entire picture.
But back to this book.
The story itself is set on a short time frame. Christmas is coming up and we get to see how the stress is turning Parker into a man who doesn´t know where his head is. His conflict and the rest of the family is brought to the reader´s eye in a very sensitive and warm way. You can literally feel the love this family has for each other and that there is a dark thing that doesn´t let them heal.
You won´t get much of a figure description from the author. Some words how they look sure, but the rest you´ll see through their acting and behavior. It was lovely to see how the brothers were trying to involve their sister Lily and how they were treating her and the youngest family member.
Parker is no man who does things the easy way. With drugs and alcohol during a troubled teenager time, his past has shown him that not everything is as it seems. He knows only too well that love isn´t for granted and that a working marriage isn´t something you get for free. What he wants is getting his restaurant up and running and bring his family´s business back on track. A woman let alone a wife isn´t on the plan. Casual sex without any commitments is what he prefers. And that´s exactly what he tells Gabriella. Only one night, that´s all.
This was my first but for sure not my last, Candis Terry novel. Hot, steamy, sexy and with a bunch of great characters as well as hilarious scenes, this book was a great reading pleasure. Good, I don´t understand why the German edition had to get this title, which could be translated into Sugar kisses and tinsel glittering, but well … If you love novels where it can become very hot and you like to read about families and how they act, this could be your book.

Das neue Restaurant, sein Bruder und die anstehende Hochzeit und dann auch noch diese Frau, die einfach vor ihm steht und sagt, sie sei seine neue Küchenchefin. Obwohl er sie weder eingestellt hat noch davon weiß, ihr diese Stelle angeboten zu haben. Aber es kommt wie es kommen musste und Gabriella schmeißt nicht nur die Restaurantküche sondern auch noch einen dicken Pfeil in Richtung Parkers Herz.
Dieser Band schließt nahtlos an seine Vorgänger an und wurde mit ebenso viel Herz und Gefühl geschrieben. Ein Roman voller hin und her und Emotionen. Die Protagonisten sind glaubwürdig und haben ihren eigenen Geschichten zu erzählen. Gabriella bringt neuen Wind in die Geschichte um die Kincaid Brüder, sie ist eine Person die felsenfest im Leben steht und auch trotz ihrer schweren Vergangenheit ihrer Leidenschaft dem Kochen frönt und auch mal ganz gewaltig am Herzen von Parker rüttelt. Die gesamte Familiengeschichte ist stimmig in sich selbst und nichts wird aus dem Konzept gerissen. Die Mischung aus Witz und Humor, ein wenig Spannung und ganz viel Gefühl macht dieses Buch zu einem wundervollen Liebesroman der wunderbar zur Weihnachtszeit passt, der Zeit der Liebe.
Das Lesen des Buches ist einfach und angenehm, so dass man schnell über die Seiten fliegt und macht einem Lust auf die Vorweihnachtszeit, so dass man es kaum erwarten kann über einen Weihnachtsmarkt zu schlendern und einen heißen Glühwein zu trinken, eingekuschelt in warme Kleidung und vielleicht einen starken Arm.

This is a pretty standard small town holiday contemporary. It was a sweet romance with a lot of family drama. I didn’t read the previous ones in the series (though i sort of want to read Declan and Brookes). I found the logic to be a bit all over the place in this book.
First, even though she’s asking him for a job, they have sex when she’s auditioning as a cook. Then, even though they agree this is a one night thing ( because the hero doesn’t DO anything more of course), they see each other constantly and miss each other and sleep together one day later. It goes from there with the H dragging his feet the whole time and sort of being a dick.
It is very readable and well written and I liked all the characters, the family mainly. I recommend to those looking for a fluffy romance.

When I'm looking for holiday romances I'm usually looking for something fun and light, but this was light to the point that I didn't buy it? The general set up has promise but it's never really addressed, instead they're both instantly attracted to one another and spend the rest of the book hooking up or thinking about hooking up. There's plenty of evidence that they want to sleep together, but there were never enough actual conversations for me to believe they're in love in any way.
The "groomzilla" stuff with his brother felt weirdly cliched and reductive because hahaha the fact that he was planning the wedding made him a girl *insert eye roll*
Also, the way he kept thinking about he had to warn men away from his sister was not great.
Anyhow, this read fast and I'm another book closer to hitting my reading goal, but that's about all I can say for it.

I usually don’t think of reading as fun per say. Relaxing? Yes. Enjoyable? Yes. Fun? Nah. Tangled Up in Tinsel is the first book I’ve read in a long time that I thought, “wow, I had fun reading that book”. And not just the characters had fun, not just that the content was fun, like I actually had fun while reading.
Candis Terry does this to me. I raved all over the place about Perfect For You and then somehow this series, once again, fell off my radar. Terry’s writing is sneaky and inconspicuous. Once I picked up Tangled Up in Tinsel, though, I remembered how much I love Terry’s storytelling and the entire Kincaid family. Le Sigh. This book was just so all around perfectly amazing.
Gabriella and Parker are both chefs. At the start of Tangled Up in Tinsel Parker has taken on the task of building, designing and opening a restaurant on his family’s vineyard property. Added to his plate, he is opening the restaurant “early” to host his brother, Jordan’s, wedding. So when Gabriella, Gabi, walks into his life, asking to be a part of the ground level of the restaurant and audition for a not-yet-posted position Parker is more than a little overwhelmed and intrigued.
And, my oh my, do Parker and Gabi have chemistry once they get going. They push each other’s buttons and drive each other to be better. Their romance is sweet, and sassy, and emotional, and yes, fun.
“My favorite classics lean more toward…” He picked up the remote and turned on the sound system. Marvin Gaye’s, “What’s Going On” played at the perfect volume.
“Ah. Sexy songs.” She nodded, turning the heat up on the pot of water on the stove.
“Sexy?” Don’t even go there, jackass. Tonight is about business.
“Oh, come on.” She flashed him a playful grin. “‘Sexual Healing,’ ‘Let’s Get It On,’ What’s sexier than that?”
She was.
He gave himself a mental poke. Business. Business. Business.
She sprinkled some olive oil in a pan. “You know what song turns me on the most?”
Parker is my very favorite type of hero. A pretty normal guy, he works hard for what he wants. His life hasn’t been all rainbows and puppies. He is an entrepreneur that isn’t afraid to dream, ask for what he wants or stand up for what he believes in. Parker also isn’t afraid to show emotion. He cares for his sisters and worries that Jordan’s wedding will be perfect. He’ll lounge around all day naked with Gabi and buy sentimental gifts for her. I’d like a Parker, please!
The whole Sunshine Creek Vineyard series by Candis Terry is truly spectacular. Tangled Up in Tinsel takes the cake, though. Gabi and Parker’s story was a joy to read and it’s definitely a book that is going on my keeper shelf. I plan to revisit this book for years to come around the holiday season. 5 stars for Tangled Up in Tinsel!

Gabriella and Parker are both chefs. At the start of Tangled Up in Tinsel Parker has taken on the task of building, designing and opening a restaurant on his family’s vineyard property. Added to his plate, he is opening the restaurant “early” to host his brother, Jordan’s, wedding. So when Gabriella, Gabi, walks into his life, asking to be a part of the ground level of the restaurant and audition for a not-yet-posted position Parker is more than a little overwhelmed and intrigued.
And, my oh my, do Parker and Gabi have chemistry once they get going. They push each other’s buttons and drive each other to be better. Their romance is sweet, and sassy, and emotional, and yes, fun.
“My favorite classics lean more toward…” He picked up the remote and turned on the sound system. Marvin Gaye’s, “What’s Going On” played at the perfect volume.
“Ah. Sexy songs.” She nodded, turning the heat up on the pot of water on the stove.
“Sexy?” Don’t even go there, jackass. Tonight is about business.
“Oh, come on.” She flashed him a playful grin. “‘Sexual Healing,’ ‘Let’s Get It On,’ What’s sexier than that?”
She was.
He gave himself a mental poke. Business. Business. Business.
She sprinkled some olive oil in a pan. “You know what song turns me on the most?”
Parker is my very favorite type of hero. A pretty normal guy, he works hard for what he wants. His life hasn’t been all rainbows and puppies. He is an entrepreneur that isn’t afraid to dream, ask for what he wants or stand up for what he believes in. Parker also isn’t afraid to show emotion. He cares for his sisters and worries that Jordan’s wedding will be perfect. He’ll lounge around all day naked with Gabi and buy sentimental gifts for her. I’d like a Parker, please!
The whole Sunshine Creek Vineyard series by Candis Terry is truly spectacular. Tangled Up in Tinsel takes the cake, though. Gabi and Parker’s story was a joy to read and it’s definitely a book that is going on my keeper shelf. I plan to revisit this book for years to come around the holiday season. 5 stars for Tangled Up in Tinsel!

I continue my rapid devouring of holiday romance books this year. And, of the ones I have read, this is toward the top of the list. The beginning was overly contrived, the story smoothed out, and then the ending was rushed again.
But, I liked the main characters. I liked Gabriella and how she worked hard for what she wanted and was completely unashamed to initiate and enjoy sex. I liked Parker and his connection to his family and his desire to really set down roots.
I did not like the whole Gabi needing a job and flirts with Parker thing. She didn't do it to get the job per se, but I just didn't like the whole connection given current social occurrences. Though, I am guessing that the main audience for these books (which is likely NOT me) doesn't really care.
I think I have enough time to fit in one more cheesy Christmas romance before throwing in the towel :)

Candis Terry's Tangled Up in Tinsel is the third book of her Sunshine Creek Vineyard series and despite I haven't read any of Terry's books I'm glad this works well as a stand-alone although I'm quite curious of the backstories of a few characters who made their appearance in this book. I suppose I'll have to catch up on the previous installments someday.
This book features one of the Kincade brothers whose family owns a vineyard which was passed down by their late parents. Parker Kincade has been stressing over his new restaurant despite it is still under renovation. He has decided to remodel and revamp their old barn as a restaurant not only as a new concept but also to continue the legacy of their late parents who had worked hard in building and running the vineyard. Aside from this, Parker also needs to consider having the revamp done before his brother's wedding as the latter wants the place for his perfect Christmas wedding. But the biggest problem of all is having a stunning woman who appoints herself as his new chef before he's ready to hire one.
Gabriella Montani has been watching Parker serving food to his customers at his food truck for some time. When she knew he is opening up his own restaurant soon, she took the initiative and apply for the chef position since being the first stands a higher chance of succeeding, right? Plus, she needs this job and a chance to prove to herself as well as her father that she could do it without his fame and reputation as a well-known chef. She managed to impress Parker through her enthusiasm and her skills but she is also attracted to him (and vice versa) even though she has not met any man who has ever lived up to her expectations. As Gabriella sees more of Parker she also sees a new side of him which he rarely show to people, not even his family members. Will Gabriella allow herself to be swept up by this attractive man, ever?
Truth be told, I'm a little skeptical about holiday romances (in real life anyway). It's so easy to fall in love and be sentimental especially during the festive season; after all Christmas is about giving love and it's hard not to be affected by that "love is in the air" aura. That said, I'm still a romantic and it's especially heartwarming to see two people who are so different in their family background and personalities find the courage and abandon whatever their fears or insecurities to accept a relationship with the other person. This story is such a case as Gabriella and Parker are so different when their family background are concerned. Parker comes from a big family while Gabriella is living all by herself with no siblings. Parker has some issues with his past while Gabriella is trying to find her own feet without feeling she has to live by her father's fame and reputation; and most of all she has not much faith when relationship is concerned after seeing through their parents divorced. Although it was desire which has brought them together in the first place, ultimately they discover something more of each other as the days go by but are they willing to put away their issues? There are many books with similar plots but the point is it is about the characters as well as the "feel" and the concept of "love" which is essential in a holiday romance book and I'm glad the author is able to capture my attention with that holiday magic moments with elements of family bonds, friendship and love in this story. And the bonus is the book adds in a few recipes, too (Ricotta cheese cookies with lemon icing, Sweet onion carbonara, Mascarpone sorbetto with rosemary honey and Mac and Cheese.)

There is definitely sugar and a whole lot of spice in this one, folks. We are given a brief individual intro into the personal lives of Gabriella and Parker, the main couple, right before she tries to sweep him off his culinary feet by wowing him in the kitchen in hopes he’ll offer her a job at his soon to open restaurant.
Parker seems a caring enough guy in regards to his family but harbors the “one night only” stereotypical mantra that often plagues handsome, leading men whose daddy has let them down. Sure, by the end of the story he admits he loves her, but he had two knucklehead moments that pretty much kept me from falling for him. I’m not fond of a storyline that leaves the heroine hanging waiting for an “I love you” then finds herself apologizing. His quick grovel wasn’t nearly enough to counter balance his at times selfish, dim witted responses that evolved around him.
Gabriella is a gal that has a lot going on in the gorgeous, great chef category, but is struggling with landing a gig that will free her from her own self-imposed emotional baggage. Sure, she has gumption and can be assertive in going after what she wants, but I felt she jumped the gun in jumping up on the counter and between the sheets with Parker. Not only because they had briefly met/didn’t know each other, but she hoped to be working day in and day out with this guy. Forget the tinsel, folks, tangling in the sheets so soon had me shaking my head in dismay and frustration. I prefer a female who makes the hero have to work for her attention/affection. Besides, how was he to know she didn’t put out just to get the job.
With lots of time spent in between agonizing over his future restaurant and this couple seemingly never going to be a real couple, I grew frustrated at the lack of progress in their non-existent relationship. It was nice when they finally, eventually started spending time together, but, overall, the conclusion felt like a fireworks display that malfunctioned and didn’t quite deliver the grand finale it deserved. There were some predictable sparks of conflict but they did not light up the sky and leave me breathless like I had hoped.
If you don’t mind more steam/hot chemistry and an implied, slow to build emotional connection between the main couple, you might enjoy this one. I needed more of a heart stopping conclusion and more of a substantial, heart melting bond between this could be perfect for each other love birds.

I just popped my Candis Terry cherry! I must say I did not dive into this book with a lot of expectations. I thought that this story would have been like all the other Christmas romance stories out there. And I wasted a whole thought.
Parker and Gabriella are the the two most down to earth fictional character I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading about. Both are just hard working good people who just wants an opportunity to cook good food and feed people and succeed in life. That is a motto that at least half of the world’s population wants to do.
Parker is trying to open a restaurant on piece of land that is a part of his family’s vineyard business. Between working on his food truck during the day and struggling to get the restaurant off the ground at nights, he doesn’t have time for a relationship. He is just looking for quick,casual, wham bam thank you,move on ma’am. But all his thoughts just flew right out the window when one day in walked Gabriella wanting to cook in his restaurant even though his restaurant is still in the construction phase.
Gabriella is the daughter of a famous Italian chef. But her father is evil and vindictive and he thinks that she can never become a chef. He thinks she is disgraceful. She never had a good relationship with him. So she sets out to find a restaurant to work at where she can prove to her father that she can cook. But all her carefully well thought out plan got waylaid when she meet sexy blue eye Parker. She hid from Parker the fact that she is a famous chef daughter. She wants him to appreciate her cooking skills as hers alone and not using her father’s influence. But all secrets must come to light.
What will Parker do when he finds out that? Can Parker move from quick and casual to love and relationship? Or will food tear them apart just as it had brought them together?
I must pin point a few things that made this book worked for me:
1. The author supported and included a children and women’s shelter whereby Gabi cooked and fed the shelter one day. We must all do our part to make the world a better place.
2. Family played a big part in this story. Parker has a lot of siblings and their love for one another clearly showed. I admit Gabi’s relationship with her father sucked but her grandmother made up for his lacking.
3. Animals. Gabi’s pet fish name is Basil. I personally believed every story should include an animal. They are our babies and I really love books that authors include pets and animals in.
4. And lastly but not least, I loved the idea of the recipes at the end of this book. That is a unique feature and I must say kudos to this author for thinking outside the box and including the recipes that Gabi wowed Parker with during her “audition”. I am tempted to try out these recipes.

"Zuckerküsse und Lamettaglitzern" von Candis Terry ist der dritte Band der "Sunshine Valley" - Reihe der Autorin, auch wenn man dies leider auf den ersten Blick nicht erkennen kann.
Im dritten Roman der Reihe spielt Parker Kinkaid die männliche Hauptrolle. Er ist gerade dabei ein Restaurant zu eröffnen bzw. befindet sich noch in der Bauphase, als die rassige Halbitalienerin Gabriella sich ihm vorstellt und sich als als Köchin bewerben möchte. Obwohl Parker ihr zunächst eine Abfuhr erteilt, lässt er sich von ihr dazu hinreißen, dass sie für ihn auf seinem Hausboot probekochen kann. Es kommt, wie es kommen muss, die beiden verlieben sich ineinander, auch wenn sie sich ihren Gefühlen nicht so recht stellen wollen.
Parker und Gabriella sind zwei überaus willensstarke Charaktere, die allerdings beide ein wenig mit ihrer Vergangenheit hadern. Die beiden ergänzen sich perfekt und es fällt einem leicht sich in sie hineinzuversetzen und ihre Handlungen nachzuvollziehen.
Dieser Roman kann mit einem Wechselbad der Gefühle aufwarten. Man leidet mit den Figuren und lacht ein paar Seiten später aber auch mit ihnen. Der Roman geht einem wirklich zu Herzen. Und auch wenn es sich hier um eine Fortsetzung handelt, kann dieser Roman auch eigenständig überzeugen. Er nimmt Ereignisse der vorherigen Romane, wie die Hochzeit von Parkers Bruder und das Geheimnis hinter der neuen Halbschwester, mit auf und verknüpft diese perfekt in die Rahmenhandlung mit ein.
Der Schreibstil der Autorin ist erneut lebendig und abwechslungsreich, so dass man förmlich durch die Handlung fliegt. Man verliebt sich beim Lesen in seine Figuren und die das Weingut.
Neben einen etwas zu kitschigen Titel kann ich lediglich die Lösung von Gabriellas Problem mit ihrem Vater kritisieren. Meiner Ansicht nach kommt diese zu plötzlich. Zwar kommt es zu einem Aufeinandertreffen der Beiden mit den verbundenen Komplikationen. Allerdings eskaliert die Situation nur kurz und Gabriella reagiert meiner Ansicht nach zu schnell zu selbstbewusst, wenn man bedenkt, dass Gabriellas Verhältnis zu ihrem Vater ihr gesamtes Erwachsenenleben überschattet hat.
Fazit:
"Zuckerküsse und Lamettaglitzern" von Candis Terry ist eine würdige Fortsetzung der "Sunshine Valley" - Reihe, die lediglich einen weniger kitschigen Titel verdient hätte.
Ich für meinen Teil habe diesen Roman wahrlich erneut genossen und kann eine unbedingte Leseempfehlung aussprechen!

I have 5 tips for reading this book. Or really any one of Candis's books because they are all awesome.
1. Get plenty of sleep the night before you start Tangled Up in Tinsel. If you are like me and start books way too late at night, thus turning you into a book zombie the next morning, it's best to get extra sleep the night before.
2. Have snacks and your favorite beverage handy. With all of the food talk in this book, I quickly regretted reading it past midnight. Somehow it felt weird if I were to pour myself an iced coffee at that hour. I did, however, sneak some chocolate. Bad Crystal!
3. Have a phone, laptop, or any other device that can play YouTube so you can listen to many of the songs mentioned in the book. You can always have Amazon or iTunes opened so you can buy the songs and make a playlist. I kind of wished I had thought about that. Maybe we can talk Candis into making a Spotify playlist. *grins*
4. You will need tissues. It's a good thing I read certain scenes in the book at night because I tend to ugly cry.
5. And lastly, have a pillow or blanket handy to squeal into during one particular scene so you won't wake up the house. This mostly applies to fans of Candis that have read her previous series. And if you haven't... Uh, why the heck not?
All kidding aside, I adore Candis Terry's books. Her characters are always lovable. I want to be their friend or even just a neighbor so I can say hi to them everyday. Even when one is being a jerk (I'm looking at you, Declan), they will always have a redeeming moment that'll sway you back into their corner. As individuals, Parker and Gabriella broke my heart. As a couple, they pieced it back together. As the saying goes, they found each other at the perfect time when they were ready to drop the walls and move away from their past. The writing is impeccable. I was all-in from the very first page and I had to force myself to put my Kindle down. I didn't want to miss a single moment in this book. I loved Tangled Up in Tinsel. From the characters to the author's playful writing style to the small town vibe, I couldn't get enough.

2. Have snacks and your favorite beverage handy. With all of the food talk in this book, I quickly regretted reading it past midnight. Somehow it felt weird if I were to pour myself an iced coffee at that hour. I did, however, sneak some chocolate. Bad Crystal!
3. Have a phone, laptop, or any other device that can play YouTube so you can listen to many of the songs mentioned in the book. You can always have Amazon or iTunes opened so you can buy the songs and make a playlist. I kind of wished I had thought about that. Maybe we can talk Candis into making a Spotify playlist. *grins*
4. You will need tissues. It's a good thing I read certain scenes in the book at night because I tend to ugly cry.
5. And lastly, have a pillow or blanket handy to squeal into during one particular scene so you won't wake up the house. This mostly applies to fans of Candis that have read her previous series. And if you haven't... Uh, why the heck not?
All kidding aside, I adore Candis Terry's books. Her characters are always lovable. I want to be their friend or even just a neighbor so I can say hi to them everyday. Even when one is being a jerk (I'm looking at you, Declan), they will always have a redeeming moment that'll sway you back into their corner. As individuals, Parker and Gabriella broke my heart. As a couple, they pieced it back together. As the saying goes, they found each other at the perfect time when they were ready to drop the walls and move away from their past. The writing is impeccable. I was all-in from the very first page and I had to force myself to put my Kindle down. I didn't want to miss a single moment in this book. I loved Tangled Up in Tinsel. From the characters to the author's playful writing style to the small town vibe, I couldn't get enough.

Parker hat viel zu tun: 1. Sein Food Truck, 2. Die Renovierung seines neuen Restaurants und 3. Die Hochzeit seines Bruders Jordan.
Gabriella braucht einen Job. Denn an ihrer jetzigen Arbeitsstelle kann sie nicht bleiben.
Mein Fazit:
Der Titel passt perfekt zum Buch. Aber es hat mich irritiert, denn als ich zum lesen anfing stellte ich fest, dass ich Parkers Familie kenne! Aus den Büchern „Neue Träume in Sunshine Valley“ und „Neue Liebe in Sunshine Valley“. Hier haben bereits seine beiden älteren Brüder ihre Liebe gefunden. Aber auch die Familiengeschichte der Kincades wird auch weiter aufgeführt! Auch die weiteren Komplikationen aus dem vorherigen Band werden hier weiterverfolgt. Diese ziehen sich aus Band 1 wie ein roter Faden weiter durch!
Gabriella hat auch Probleme mit ihrer Familie und die haben es auch in sich! Es war herzzerreißend! Aber sie ist eine starke, junge Frau die gelernt hat für sich einzustehen und auch loyal ist. Sie kocht leidenschaftlich gern und versucht Parker zu unterstützen wo es geht. Tatsächlich macht sie ihm das Leben leichter.
Es machte Spaß den weg der Beiden zu verfolgen, sicherlich war es ein Liebesroman der nicht unbedingt in die Tiefe geht. Aber er unterhält, bringt einen zum Lachen und lässt einen auch mitfiebern am Verlauf der Geschichte!
Der Schreibstil war leicht, locker und hat mich sehr gut unterhalten!
Ich würde gerne die Geschichten der anderen Geschwister weiterlesen, denn auch hier sind weitere Verwicklungen sichtbar!
Nun meine Anmerkung an den Verlag: Warum werden die Bücher nicht als Reihe geführt? Dies empfand ich persönlich als irritierend! Hat aber in meiner Wertung keine Gewichtung, da die Geschichte mir eine kleine Auszeit vom Alltag beschert hat!

„Zuckerküsse Und Lamettaglitzern“ ist der 3. Band der Sunshine-Valley-Reihe von Candis Terry. Ich mochte die Geschichte über den dritten der Kincade Brüder, aber mit dem Titel des Buches und dem Cover hat sie nun wirklich nichts gemein. Wer also eine romantische, weihnachtlich-gemütliche Story erwartet hat, wird enttäuscht werden, denn im Vordergrund steht die Affäre zwischen Parker und Gabi. Die Beiden hatten eigentlich einen Deal geschlossen: Nur eine einzige Nacht. Eine Beziehung hatte Parker für sich nicht vorgesehen. Nicht in absehbarer Zeit. Es sollte nur Spaß sein, ohne Verpflichtungen. Doch schon bald musst er erkennen, dass das eine ‚mission impossible‘ ist. Denn die talentierte Köchin gibt sich nach außen hin tough, doch hinter ihrer Keckheit verbirgt sie ein riesen Herz. Einerseits ist sie eine Göttin, andererseits ist sie das nette Mädchen von nebenan. Die Chemie zwischen ihnen ist einfach unglaublich. Doch obwohl Parker immer offener zu Gabi wird und seine Geheimnisse mit ihr teilt, hütet sie ihr großes Geheimnis vor ihm. Wie wird Parker reagieren, wenn er davon erfährt? Kann er damit klar kommen, dass sie ihn im Dunkeln hat stehen lassen? Gibt es eine Chance für die Beziehung, die eigentlich noch gar keine war? Die Geschichte wird in gewohnt angenehm zu lesendem Schreibstil aus beiden Perspektiven erzählt.
Auch das Familiengeheimnis rund um die neue Halbschwester wird durch Tante Pippy aufgelöst.
Fürs Verständnis empfiehlt es sich, die beiden Vorgänger gelesen zu haben.

This is the third book in the Sunshine Creek Vineyard series by Candice Terry, however is reads pretty well as a standalone. References are made to events in the previous stories, but this is done with very broad strokes so it is easy to understand what has happened to get he characters to this point.
The main protagonists are Parker Kincade and Gabriella Montani. Parker is the third oldest of the Kincade brothers, and currently the one who is trying to hold his family together in the wake of shocking revelations from previous stories. He is gorgeous, kind and a talented chef. He was a bit of a delinquent as a teenager, but luckily managed to turn his life around and now is trying his hardest to make up for the distress he caused his family back then by being steady and responsible now.
Gabriella is also a beautiful and talented chef. When we're first introduced to her she appears to be full of confidence and drive and only needs a chance in order to succeed. As we get to know her though, we see how her estrangement from her family (particularly her self absorbed parents) hurts her. We are also shown how kind she is, particularly in light of her own troubles. Once she has come to care for Parker, she makes it her mission to help him achieve his dreams. She does this without fuss or fanfare and it is all the sweeter for it.
The conflict between them is clear and understandable once their backgrounds are revealed to the reader, and their dialogue was excellent!
Whilst this isn't groundbreaking lay original it is well written and thoroughly entertaining. Recommended.
