Really enjoyed this short collection. Syrian war, british austerity, love, rape, parenthood: all are treated with intelligence, skill and a deep sense of pathos, human insight and compassion.

My highest praise for a poetry collection is that I go back to it, repeatedly and this is what I've been doing with this collection. I'm constantly startled by Becky's imagery. Consider first the title of a poem: 'Vaginal Repair', followed by 'Michael Jackson's favourite,/the anaesthetist tells me ...' All the poetry here gives me pleasant electric shocks like this and tells stories about such a variety of themes.
