This book is more about God and faith than it is about psychology. There are hardly any psychological terms used, and the book is quite weak.
There was also too much about angels and speaking to God.
In short, I don't recommend this book. Avoid it.

Powerful healing book
I absolutely loved this book. I am thankful that I didn’t allow the few negative reviews from preventing from purchasing. Yes, a large part of this book is prayers and I am glad it was so. I am a Muslim woman and I simply replaced the prayer names to one more in line with my faith. This book helped me to understand my father wounds and taught essential strategies, affirmations and prayers to overcome.

Good for beginners - shows the schemes of not present father or wounds present in your adult’s life. I honestly say it’s more for girls. There is one chapter for males, hence I suggest that boys would borrow this book from someone or search for this chapter.
Word from psychologist: too much angels but if you will ‘cut’ this part - it will show you where to start :)

This book was full of insights for me although I have done some of this healing work already. There were times when I reading passages that obviously spoke to my heart as I started to cry. I will certainly have to re-read and repeat the exercises as I continue my healing journey realizing that my "nurturing" father is NOT ever going to show up for me. His loss. Thank you Doreen and Andrew. Blessings to you both.

I liked the book, it explained easily a very simple truth that what my father did to me is not my fault. I needed to hear that and i got it. It feels like there should be a continuation to this idea, i was expecting a more detailed development of this topic. Still i liked it.

Incredibly compassionate, with constructive advice how to cope with abusive fathers. Gets a little repetitive at times, but still a good self-help book.

It is a good book. It gives you a spiritual approach on how to heal your father issues, with some techniques as well. Good read!

Lots of food for thought for therapists and sufferers alike, but could have been more instructive and offered a concrete programme of steps ...
