During his career, Des O'Connor has interviewed all the major personalities of the day, from rock and pop stars, actors and TV celebrities to politicians and members of the Royal Family. In this autobiography, Des relives in his own words the events of his life - from his early childhood struggle against ill-health in the East End of London to his career to date. Starts off as a real page turner with his younger years living in the Blitz, then is still very entertaining with his early years trying to “ make it”, and eventually meanders into a gentle flowing & meandering river of life; E.g. lists of names recommendations for certain people to be cast in certain fantasy productions. BUT you get the impression he was one of life’s good guys.

I enjoyed reading Des O’Connor’s life story. It brought back memories of the entertainment industry at that time. He masterfully delivers stories with clean humour and ease. A genuine and lovely man.
