Maybe a 3.5, while it is outdated, (I think it was published in the 90s?) it did have some very good information. So many financial options I would have never even thought were possible. Will take the tax information I gained and apply it to this coming year!

The book it self is outdated, yes, 1995. some things in there are really good advice, like if your car has insurance and you want to rent a car, don't get up sold by the car rental people. Your insurance will cover it, and use an credit card that gives you an additional insurance free if you use their card to rent.

Or how you need to make a trust, and not a will. A trust can be safe from debt you owe. and some other info was valuable.

somethings are just being cheap like putting air in tires to 'save gas' but its an old book.

but all in all, its an OK book, some sections you have to skip because it's just too out dated

This is the book that started my interest in becoming wiser regarding financial affairs. Granted, much of the book is outdated now, but the basics are still golden. If you can find the book for under $10, it's still worth a read. Focuses included Personal Finance Strategies, Tax-Reducing Strategies (may be outdated more than most topics it covers), and Powerful Investment Strategies.

I found this book around the house. Some of the strategies are outdated. The insurance section is very comprehensive.

It’s outdated so the tax laws have changed a bit and investment opportunities lean more toward the already wealthy but there are some really good principles in this book!

Excellent self help book to get your financial house in order. I read it 20 years ago from a friends recommendation and applied many of the principles in the book. I still follow givens advice.
