Sarah's house was calling to her. She should have stayed away.
Everyone called it a "money pit." Instead of selling her aunt's rambling old house, however, after a string of bad luck Taryn decided to live in it while she fixed it up. After all, she'd never met an old house she didn't like.
Nothing could have prepared her for the horror that awaited.
As Taryn finds herself caught in a grip of terror and madness, the truth that has been buried in the house for more than a century slowly begins to unravel. Her camera has revealed the past to her, but it's more than ghosts that haunt Sarah's old house–it's evil itself.
Nobody can help Taryn out of this mess–not the ghost hunters, local law enforcement, or even her best friend and sidekick, Matt. Everyone is worried as Taryn begins to shut herself off from the rest of the world, obsessed with the house and its history as she's determined to come to grips with the ghostly figures that roam the hallways, the truths beneath the lies she slowly reveals, and the futile cries in the night.
And they should be worried. Because this is one place Taryn might never escape.
A supernatural suspense and traditional haunted house story from best-selling author Rebecca Patrick-Howard in the style of Heather Graham, Peter Straub, and Shirley Jackson.
I love all the Taryn stories and am sorry that this is it, for the series. However this ending is a peaceful moment and a new beginning freedom from the pain and suffering and a romantic one. I will miss Taryn. Rest in peace.
I have read all of Taryn's Camera books. Each book got better and better! I enjoyed the whole book, but it really picked up about a little before half way. I cannot in good conscience reveal anything that happened, except after last book, I wondered what Taryn would actually do. Now I know and love it!
Well, it appears the end was the beginning. It all falls apart at the end, the end brings down what came before. In fact they end up rather depressing and don't get any better, ever, so I found out. I hoped, a hope kept me reading, but nope. All these loose ends left dangling about. As a whole rather disjointed.
There was some editing errors or I would give it five stars. However, I won't spoil the book for others. There were some questions left unanswered. I hope in the next book they will be answered. Good reading.
I have loved every single book in this series. I am sad to see it end, but I knew from page one that this would be the final one in the series...as a photographer and a paranormal investigator, this series has combined two of my most favorite things.
I start reading the fist book of the series just to see what was all about and now I just finished the lad book very exciting and sad at the same time just to now how it ended
I don't think I have ever read such a wonderful series of books. I am crying now just thinking of the emotional connection I had with the main character. Selfishly I still want more of this. I highly recommend this entire series ... And I thank this author sincerely for these books... And I salute her for being one of the best authors ever.
And all the ones before. I am very sad to see the series end but I know all great things must end. Taryn will always have a special place in my heart. I feel we are lots alike as we share the chronic pain.. As for the story I loved this book. I can not pick a favorite as I love them all. In this one Taryn goes and lives in her Aunt Sara's house and uncovers that Aunt Sara w as really her Mom ( I have questions now) . She meets a friendly ghost and not friendly ones. . I dont want to spoil it too much but I say get the book read it. If you have not read others read them I promise you will not be disappointed. Very well worth the read..
