It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.
Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.
We already read how Thom met Ginny in SEALed at Midnight. Now they want to get married. We follow them from Thom thinking about proposing all the way to the wedding. Which might or might not happen! ☺ Because there are lots of obstacles in the way to that happily ever after. SEAL business, time, distance, exes, family, friends, terrorists - foreign and home grown, doubts, fears ... BUT, we have an amazing time with Ginny and Thom while they fight for that HEA! This was another super exciting and suspensy and SEALy and romantic and sexy and adorable romance in this amazing SEAL series! I read it in one afternoon - couldn't put it down! It feels so real, like we're right there with them. All the SEAL and terror stuff is really properly researched. I just loved reading it. Can't wait to see what computer-nerd-SEAL Will will have to tell us in the next book: Matched with a hot SEAL (October 10th)
I was disappointed in the story, having already met these two, I figured they would have matured into their relationship, but they were still not completely honest with each other
So nice to finally get Thom and Ginny settled on and in a relationship. This book kept me on pins and needles the entire time. That's not really anything new with Cat Johnson's Hot SEALs series.
However, this is a continuation of one of the earlier couples. I would read that book before reading this one. To me, this should have really been a .5 of a number on the list because of this, but it is a full length book.
We've met our hero and heroine in one of the earlier books. He's divorced and has kids with his ex-wife who, in my opinion, had taken him for everything she could. Despite this, he still falls in love with our heroine. And its not easy with them living miles and states apart, but they've made it work. He's been saving up so he can buy a ring, but she knows he's been hiding something and she's thinking maybe he's had enough with the distance and she's worried.
The only thing the hero is worrying about is if she says no to his proposal. He doesn't know when or how he'll ask, but it'll have to wait until after this mission is done. He gets back and decides he's not going to wait any longer. He gets a few days off, sees his kids and off to propose. Our heroine isn't expecting him, his proposal or the ring. He wants them together and he wants it now. However, they decide they'll get the license and she'll start to plan a small, simple ceremony because he's got to head back. After waiting a few days to tell her parents and best friend, they start to plan it ASAP. After trying to be nice to her mother, she puts her foot down finally.
The plan is for the hero with a few of the guys, to go to one of the guys' family cabin, drink, shoot some guns and basically relax while she starts things for the wedding. What ends up happening is a bunch of mixups, traffic and a wild bunch of guys. Meanwhile, as the hero misses one check in and then misses the pictures, and finally they've pushed the wedding time back and back and are starting to get really concerned especially when part of the hero's team is there and he and the others aren't. She knows he'll be here...they just had to give him time. Will they get to get married? Will he get there in time? Has his kids shown or did the ex-wife keep them away?
I loved this plot because even though you knew something was going to happen, what did happen was pretty unexpected and even the smaller events were unexpected. By the end you were really rooting for the couple. I really felt for the hero when he had a few talks with his ex or at least tried. I loved how this book ended.
I really liked this. And I'm so glad we finally got something about Thom again. I was waiting since the first book, because that was SO short.
I was wondering how much time had passed, though, since Thom and Ginny's first meeting. Years were mentioned. But how many? And I was wondering, if Ginny ever actually met Thom's kids before, because it didn't really sound like it.
The only thing I didn't like was Ginny's mother. Unlikable B***. Not saying more to that, though.
Escape with a Hot SEAL is definitely one of the best in this series. Although the title let me to believe that for some reason Ginny will have to go on the run with Thom. For whatever reason.
Will Thom and Ginny finally get married or are there too many obstacles in their way?
Thom finally gets up the nerve to propose to Ginny after several years together even though they don't live I the same city or even the same state. Ginny still lives seven hours away near her parents. They agree on a short engagement and make plans for a few weeks away. Thom has a bad feeling that something will go wrong when they leave for the next mission, but his leave for wedding and honeymoon is granted and then the opportunity goes without a shot being fired, and then their transport home is quick he still has a feeling of dread but doesn't know why. What is going to happen and will it prevent him from getting to the altar on time? Will Ginny believe him about what happened and more importantly will she forgive him?
Their life together began in a snow storm. Thom & Ginny have been together for a few yrs when he decides to pop the question. Now Ginny is quick planning a ceremony while Thom is deployed. Things are going to smoothly for Thomas liking, the op went well, he got two weeks leave for the wedding & Ginny is ok with a bachelor night at a cabin. Now he, Rocky & Brody are in a “situation” that may keep them from getting to the church on time. This was a fun story to read, with a slight bit of suspense thrown in. There is plenty of steam when Thom & Ginny are in the same state, so check out this story!
Being a Navy Seal and trying to have a personal life is difficult. Thom and Ginny are finding out just how difficult. After Thom proposes to Ginny and the wedding is scheduled between assignments Thom and his buddies take a couple days off to the Poconos where his buddy has a cabin. While there things do not go according to plan and Ginny is waiting at the alter for her Seal. Another great story in the Seals series by Cat Johnson. Look forward to reading more.
Thom and Ginny have most everything they want, with a few exceptions the doubt from her own mother, his nasty ex wife, being a Seal has it's advantages except when caught off guard by crazy people, can they get out of the mess and to the church on time, a beautiful story of family, thank you, Dana Zamora
The continuation of Ginny and Thom's story was Terrific. You wonder what happens after they get together and if they ever have the happily ever. This book shows you what happens with them.
Escape With A Hot Seal: A Hot Seal's Wedding: It was a great romance! I loved how they both would travel where the other was just for true love. It was great writing and hot men!
This one made it sound like everyone didn’t want them married. There wasn’t much support from families, especially the delay in getting to the wedding.
I’m really enjoying this series! Every single book was well worth the read. The author did a great job tying all of the characters from each story together. I can’t wait to read the next book!
I love Cat Johnson's books. All of the subjects. I have been binge reading the Hot Seals series and just finished this one. I loved seeing Thom and Ginny get married. Ginny's unwavering faith in Thom's love for her is amazing.
So happy Thom got his HEA with Ginny. His ex wife and her mother leaves a lot to be desired. I am very happy to see the SEALs take their relationships to the next level.
Loved reading about the seal's but this book lacked the excitement that the other's had, hopefully the next book will have the excitement and romance back.
Great Read! Loved it. not to much explicit sex just enough. Lots of hunky SEALs. Thom and Ginny are trying to get married and Thoms could be called up anytime. Fun read.
Thom and Ginny had a great story. Having dealt with the military as a mother, I know all about the waiting. The run up to the wedding was a great twist!
While I truly enjoy this series, this installment included a fair amount of action, but was still missing something. Ginny and Thom were involved in a long distance relationship that Thom wanted to make more permanent. All of the events that take place before they make it to the alter made for a good story.
