Short but interesting; personally would have just loved MORE, but nonetheless this is still an inspiring and approachable introduction to the art form as it has developed in the U.S.

Recommends it for: anyone wanting some info on taiko
This book talks about Taiko drumming and different aspects of it. The author started drumming in the 80's and is now part of one the better dojo's in the US. She starts with a history of the drum, goes into the different instruments, and finishes with the spiritual aspect of how to become a good taiko player. The book is call The Way of Taiko because Varian believes playing the Taiko is a way of life, not just something to do. The Way is something that permeates a persons whole life.
