Mummy’s Always Right comes from the same publisher as C is for Cthulu, a board book that I absolutely loved. It falls into the same category of being a little unconventional and it’s a lot of super cute fun.

It follows a little mummy boy named Gaws, who is learning why he should always listen to his mummy. He gets into some trouble a long the way and her advice helps him out. Even though he is a mummy he does the same things I normal kid would, so it makes for a great little lesson book while still being really fun to read.

The artwork is great and pretty colorful, and I really love the character designs. We get to see not only the mummy family but also a young Frankenstein’s monster, creature of the Black Lagoon, and more.

This is the perfect book for quirky parents and those who really dig the horror genre and want a kid friendly way to share that with the little ones.

Great children’s book

Great children’s book and I read it to my daughter tonight and she loved it as well. I’ll keep a lookout for more from the same author.

This genre-type of book is something that my sister is more likely to be interested in than me, especially since Cthulu is in the book itself although not a main character. Also I think at one point she has read "C Is For Cthulu" than again I may be wrong.

Anyway it is an interesting concept for a book that is full of practical advice but given from a mother to her little monster. What truly interests me with this book is the whole fact that it approaches subjects or matter that I thought had been forever sent away from this generation of children such as reminding them that life can be an adventure (truly love the warning on that, though) and having children play outside with their friends instead of being plugged in. Other types of advice offered can be considered some everyday type of advice.

Yet at the same time there are some things and/or promises that I find are truly optimistic such as a mother always protecting her child or the end of the day always being happy when a child knows that their other is always right. I can probably point out some situations but that isn't the point for my review to challenge what the reading is about - just read with caution.

The illustrations are brightly colored and cute while catching all the little monsters in the fine border of classic horror/cute enough for young crowds. I also truly enjoyed the fact that there is cast of characters in the back that is mostly illustrations but also with the names for those who may be interested although for the Classic Horror reader it is easy to figure out the characters.

At the same time with this much characters introduced and the setting up of Creature Cove it makes me wonder could there be a series coming out that would explore some of the other characters? It does make for an intriguing idea....

If you're into classic horror and have little kids, you're going to love this.
The book contains really cute drawings of classic monsters, and it's a nice way to introduce them to little ones, without them being scared.

The rhymes are sweet, and contain some common sense advice (things you'd tell your kids anyway, but maybe, with these drawings and rhymes, they stick better in the kids' minds?)
It was an excellent Halloween bed-time-story.

Lovely book.

I love this book. The story is perfect and the art work is on point. I would recommend this book to anyone who cares for kids or just loves monsters. I look forward to more books in this series. Love the little monsters.
