Not badly written, but biased towards Hindi and Bengali movies. Of course, the author does not try to hide the bias and the book cover lists the filmmakers discussed, but it would've been more enjoyable if the book also covered other languages. To write about the biggest industries in India at the time and leave out the smaller ones is a strange decision, especially because the biggest name in the Bengali industry has been left out, presumably consciously, in order to make space for lesser known names.
