Dazzle has just come out of her cocoon. She is completely alone and has no worldly experience, which lands her in a dangerous situation very quickly. Thanks to a chance meeting with a kindly soul, Dazzle is able to learn about the world around her, as well as learning about herself, who she is and where she belongs. It is a very ‘new kid at school’ scenario that all children will be able to resonate with. After all, we were all ‘new’ to school at some stage, even if there are other children that are new, it doesn’t elevate the fear of being in a new place and not knowing anyone.

Basic kid stuff, not very imaginative or unique but, then again, not overly dull. The best part was the fact-based page at the end about how I butterfly comes to be.

Drawings are a bit weak.

Libraries around the world should have this book in it because this is a short chapter book so kids can learn to read chapter books and learn about butterflies.

Our oldest loves the various Fairy stories by Daisy Meadows, so when I saw this book, I just know she'll love it. The story is a simple one, with a new butterfly coming out of her cocoon, making friends, and learning about her new world. I got the English version of the story (since I'm in England!) and I will use this as an oppotunity to explain some of the different words and spellings in England versus America.

I liked that Dazzle tried really hard to get out of her cocoon and she did, but then she was falling and she landed on a leaf and then her friend came along and helped her fly. It's fun to imagine being a butterfly!

I've read this book to my Niece and God Daughter they both liked it. But they wish the pictures were colored so that they can see the beautiful colors of each butterfly.

When Dazzle came out of her cocoon she felt like she needed a mama and then five minutes later a blackbird attack began. Oh no! What should Dazzle do?
