Arbol de La Vida: Historias de La Guerra Civil

Rate this book
The turmoil, intrigue and suffering brought on by civil war have been captured and universalized in these beautifully wrought tales told from the perspective of the common man caught up in a confusing maelstrom. Not journalistic reportage but magic realism at its best, these stories are deceptively simple, linear and fresh.

In English, this book is called Tree of Life: Stories of Civil War. It's a collection of stories centered around the Salvadorian civil war (1980-1992). The stories are powerful, sad and beautiful.
